Chapter 770: Crowded Diagon Alley

~3 min read 583 words

Sean had been to Diagon Alley many times.

But never like this, a simple stroll.

On this long cobblestone street, lined with the world's most tempting wizarding shops, Sean was almost baked through by the sun.

He thought about all the events since Christmas: the destroyed diadem, the rested ghost, the burned ring, and the fake locket obtained.

Finally, his thoughts settled on the Resurrection Stone.

This Deathly Hallow was covered in a terrible curse, and it gave wizards almost no chance to find loopholes.

It required a magical creature to wear it for the curse to take effect; otherwise, the Resurrection Stone could not be used.

As for why a magical creature was needed, Sean guessed that creatures without magic probably couldn't remain in Voldemort's eyes.

This curse could not be broken, only endured, just like those liquids in the cave.

Voldemort had gone further in curses than all the wizards in the current Wizarding World; at least Sean saw absolutely no hope of breaking the curse.

Then, what should he do to use the Resurrection Stone?

The long, sunny day saw various wizards strolling in and out of those shops, eating under brightly colored umbrellas outside cafes.

Beside Ma Kusi, Sean could hear customers taking out what they had bought to show each other:

"Old friend, this is a Moon-gazing Mirror—no more need to fiddle with moon charts, right?"

Or discussing the merits of magic schools:

"Personally, Hogwarts is the best magic school in the world; I wouldn't let my child go to any other school."

Ma Kusi was restless the moment he saw the ice cream shop.

"Ice cream, of course, that's wonderful."

So he pulled Sean to sit in the bright sunshine outside Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour without a word.

Every half hour, he was happy to add another serving of ice cream to the table.

"Oh, time flies so fast, my good child, you're going to be in your third year..."

As Ma Kusi spoke, the ice cream on his mustache trembled.

Before long, they dove into Quality Quidditch Supplies.

Ma Kusi enjoyed such moments: Quality Quidditch Supplies was surrounded by many people; they squeezed in, pushed past those excited male and female wizards, saw a newly set-up platform, and so he waved his hand grandly and bought the Nimbus 2001.

"I haven't participated in a Quidditch match for a long time."

Sean tried to dissuade him.

"Ah, that's fine, another bottle of maintenance potion, sir."

Ma Kusi said boldly.

The owner of Quality Quidditch Supplies was beaming with joy and even told them a special piece of news:

"Yes, at ten o'clock, the most mysterious shop in Diagon Alley is about to open to the public; the legendary Mr. Hermes is going to stock new magical creations."

The elderly wizard said.

"That's really..."

At the moment Ma Kusi spoke, the entire Diagon Alley was changing.

Colorful posters were hung up, and even the walls of the Quidditch shop were plastered with them.

"That mysterious shop has brought a lot of foot traffic to Diagon Alley."

The owner said happily, then watched a young wizard hang up a poster.

A special creature, the Puffskein, floated above the entire Diagon Alley.

Its body was like a ball, covered in creamy yellow soft fur.

Sean knew this was a type of gentle magical creature—you could hug it, or throw it around, and it would remain indifferent. It had always been a pet popular with wizards. ===== CHAPTER 771 =====
