Chapter 889: Dementors (4k)

~5 min read 941 words

Lu Ping looked as if he were willing to hear the details, which made Luo En feel very favorably toward him.

He subconsciously glanced at the seat by the window, where Sean was biting into a pumpkin pie and reading.

Suddenly, the lights in the aisle and on the luggage racks all turned on at once.

The train clattered, the raindrops tapped, and the wind howled outside the window.

"Wait a minute, are we almost there?"

Luo En said, leaning over, looking past Professor Lu Ping at the now pitch-black window.

No sooner had he finished speaking than the train began to slow down.

"Great!"

Luo En said,

"You can get off with Sean, but it's strange that he would owe you your salary... do you work at Fried's?"

"I don't think it's that magical goods shop, but a bookstore."

Lu Ping said kindly.

"Bookstore... you mean Green's Bookstore? Merlin... that means you have the latest version of Green's Notes?!"

Luo En was greatly surprised.

"Of course I do."

Lu Ping's eyes crinkled with a smile as he carefully took out a complete set of the Green Book Series from his ragged but interesting trunk.

The yellowed pages indicated that he had probably read these books more than once.

"*Wizarding Magic Chronicles*!"

Hemin exclaimed in pleasant surprise,

"Sean said he hadn't finished it yet, and you actually have the manuscript..."

"Oh, of course, Mr. Green and I always exchange letters about magical history..."

Lu Ping nodded with a smile.

He looked at the young wizards gathering around, confirming that they probably had a good relationship with his boss.

So his smile became even warmer.

It seemed he would soon be able to find his boss.

Lu Ping was surrounded by a circle of young wizards; Luo En was leaning the furthest away and didn't see the manuscript.

He sighed dejectedly, stood up, and walked carefully to the window, wanting to see the situation outside clearly.

"I'm starving, I really want to attend the feast..."

"It's not possible yet."

Hemin turned her head, holding a manuscript, and said.

"Then why did it stop?"

The train was getting slower and slower.

The sound of the wheels gradually became inaudible, and the wind and rain hit the windows louder than before.

Luo En was closest to the door, and he got up and looked toward the aisle.

Throughout the carriage, countless heads poked out of the compartments curiously.

The train stopped with a jolt, and the sound of clattering came from afar; it must have been luggage falling off the racks.

Then, for no reason, all the lights went out, and they were plunged into total darkness.

"What's going on?"

Luo En's voice sounded in front of everyone.

"Ouch!"

Hemin gasped,

"Luo En, that's my foot!"

"Sorry—I really can't see—"

Luo En said.

"Do you think the train broke down?"

Harry groped his way back to his seat.

"Don't know..."

A harsh squeaking sound came from the darkness, and Harry saw Luo En's dark, blurry figure.

He was wiping a clean spot on the train window, looking outside.

"There's something moving outside,"

Luo En said,

"It looks like someone is getting on the train..."

"Mr. Green—so you were here all along—"

A low, pleasant voice broke the tense atmosphere; it was Lu Ping, who was holding a glowing wand, helping the black-haired young wizard illuminate the manuscript.

"Nice to see you, Mr. Lu Ping."

Sean emerged from the ocean of magical knowledge and said with a slight smile.

"I don't think Lu Ping is here to ask for his salary."

Hemin said thoughtfully.

"Anyone can see that, Hemin."

Luo En curled his lip,

"There isn't a person in the entire Wizarding World who doesn't want to get close to Sean... have I said it before? The last signed note from Sean was sold for thirty Jin Jialong!"

Luo En suddenly winked again; although his face wasn't very clear in the darkness, everyone heard the exaggeration in his words:

"Even if they don't want to get close to Mr. Green, those newspaper offices, those so-called pure-blood families, who wouldn't want to know Mr. Hermes, who returned carrying honor?"

The young wizards fell into a moment of silence.

They always forgot what kind of status the name Green had in the entire Wizarding World...

"You're right, Luo En. But the train seems to be broken now..."

Suddenly, Harry spoke up.

"Shall we go outside and take a look?"

Harry glanced at Sean, who was chatting and laughing with Lu Ping, and suggested.

"I think that's fine."

Luo En opened the door impatiently.

The young wizards walked into the aisle, leaving only Lu Ping and Sean in the compartment.

In the narrow aisle, someone was tripped by Harry's legs and fell painfully.

"Sorry! Who is it? Do you know what's going on? Ouch! Sorry—"

"Nawei, don't wander around, follow me closely."

Harry groped in the darkness, grabbed Nawei's robe, and pulled him up.

"Harry? Is that you?"

"It's me, Nawei. Let's go—"

"Let's go ask the driver what's going on."

Hemin's voice said.

Harry felt Hemin pass in front of him, heard the sliding door open again, and then with a bang, there were two more painful screams.

"Who is it?"

"Who is it?"

"Jin Ni?"

"Hemin?"

"What are you doing? Jin Ni?"

"I'm looking for Luo En—"

"Alright, you go in and sit down first—"

"Don't sit here!"

Harry said hurriedly,

"I'm here! Ouch!"

Nawei howled in pain.

Everyone stumbled back into the compartment.

Now the compartment was extremely crowded, with a full seven young wizards and one professor.

"Get behind me." ===== CHAPTER 890 =====
