Chapter 892: Patronus Charm
"Let me explain."
Professor Lu Ping said slowly,
"The Patronus Charm is the most famous spell known, and also one of the most powerful defensive spells...
This is an extremely complex, difficult-to-cast spell that can evoke a semi-corporeal positive force, which is the Patronus.
It can drive away Dementors and Lethifolds, and there are no other defensive methods for these creatures besides this."
Lu Ping clearly knew a lot about the Patronus Charm; he introduced it gently,
"However, the vast majority of wizards and witches are unable to summon a Patronus of any form..."
"Then what do they do when facing Dementors?"
Luo En asked.
Lu Ping was silent for a while and shook his head gently.
The young wizards suddenly felt a chill down their backs.
If Sean's Patronus hadn't been there just now, what would the Dementor have done to them?
And most terrifyingly, they had no ability to resist at all.
"Can I learn it?"
Hemin suddenly asked,
"Professor Lu Ping?"
After Hemin ate a piece of chocolate, she clearly recognized this professor from the bookstore.
"The Patronus Charm is widely considered a high-level magic, far above the ordinary wizard level. Miss Granger.
This spell is particularly profound and very complex; many qualified wizards and witches encounter difficulties when using it.
Therefore, even summoning an intangible Patronus is considered a sign of possessing high-level magical power."
Lu Ping didn't answer Hemin's question directly, but introduced it in a way that made Hemin lower her head slightly.
"Then what about Sean? I just saw... a cat?"
Luo En asked, scratching his head.
"Mr. Green... sorry, everyone, Mr. Green is the most talented wizard I have ever seen.
I find it hard to imagine a wizard being able to summon a corporeal Patronus at this age.
Of all the wizards I have seen, not one has done such a thing."
Lu Ping said with some emotion.
"Oh, of course. That's Sean..."
Luo En nodded in recognition.
Lu Ping scanned the circle and found that the young wizards were almost all looking with certainty.
This surprised him somewhat.
"Everything you think is impossible, just add the name Sean in front of it, and that thing becomes a fact."
Luo En said in a low voice with deep feeling, shrugging his shoulders.
"Is that so?"
Lu Ping smiled.
"You'll know later, Lu..."
"Lu Ping."
"Professor Lu Ping."
Luo En had an old-fashioned air that made people smile.
A rumbling whistle sounded, and finally, the train stopped at Hogsmeade Station.
Everyone got off the train one after another, and the scene was chaotic.
Owls were hooting, cats were meowing, and Nawei's pet toad was croaking loudly under his hat.
The small platform was bone-chillingly cold, and a torrential rain poured down.
"First-year students, this way!"
A familiar voice shouted.
As soon as Sean got off the train, he saw Haige's huge figure at the other end of the platform, greeting those panicked first-year students to cross the lake in the traditional way.
"Hey! Sean!"
Haige waved at Sean and also made a mouth shape.
Sean knew that was to remind him to go to Haige's hut to discuss the first class of the semester.
Sean was, after all, Haige's teaching assistant, even though he was still in school...
But regardless, Haige felt he had to discuss the details of the class with Sean so he could feel at ease.
Naturally, Sean didn't want Bakubike to be sent to the executioner's block again, so he gladly accepted Haige's invitation.
With a few crisp sounds, Harry and the others also got off the train.
As if following Harry, a gloating voice with a drawl came from beside Sean and near Harry.
"You fainted, Potter? Is what Longbottom said true? Did you really faint?"
Ma Erfu elbowed aside a new student and blocked Harry on the platform leading to the carriages, his face blooming with joy, a pair of gray eyes flashing with malicious light.
"Get lost, Ma Erfu."
Luo En said, his teeth clenched tightly.
"Did you faint too, Wei Silai?"
Ma Erfu said loudly,
"That terrifying old Dementor scared you too, didn't it, Wei Silai?"
"Is there trouble?"
A gentle voice said.
Professor Lu Ping came out of the train.
Ma Erfu stared at Professor Lu Ping arrogantly and rudely, taking in the patches on his robe and his ragged trunk.
He said:
"Oh, no—er—Professor."
His voice carried a hint of sarcasm.
Before he could continue, he saw those straight green pupils.
Sean felt somewhat emotional; he thought Ma Erfu was just like Harry's shadow—whenever Harry was in trouble or made a fool of himself, Ma Erfu would appear, and he would love to bring a hundred cameras to take pictures.
When Ma Erfu left dejectedly and they took the carriage to the outside of the castle, Sean thought that the source of all this was just Harry refusing Ma Erfu's arrogant solicitation in the Great Hall.
But none of this mattered.
Sean thought, the Ma Erfu family had never accomplished a single thing for Voldemort.
Outside the castle.
The young wizards followed the crowd up the stone steps, through the magnificent oak doors, and into the spacious and deep entrance hall.
Torches were burning there, and a magnificent marble staircase led upstairs.
On the right, the door to the Great Hall was open; Sean walked toward it, and just as he glanced at the enchanted ceiling—
Tonight it was a pitch-black sky filled with dark clouds, when he heard a voice shout:
"Sean—you child—and Potter! I want to see you both!"
Sean felt himself inexplicably shrink a size; he and the surprised Harry turned around together.
Professor Marcus Marcus Maige, the Transfiguration teacher at Hogwarts and Head of Gryffindor House, was shouting at them over the heads of the crowd.
She was a stern-looking witch with her hair pulled into a tight bun, wearing a pair of square glasses over her sharp eyes.
"No need to be so nervous—I just want to talk to you in my office, Potter—"
She said to Harry, then turned her head to look at Sean,
"As for you, you child—you should be a bit nervous—"
Finally, she turned back and instructed,
"Go over there, Wei Silai, Granger, Longbottom, and you, Fenliere."
The young wizards stared wide-eyed as Professor Marcus Marcus Maige led Harry and Sean away from the chatting crowd.
They walked through the entrance hall with Professor Marcus Marcus Maige, went up the marble staircase, and then walked forward along a corridor.
Professor Marcus Marcus Maige's office was small, but it had a warm, roaring fire.
As soon as they walked in, Professor Marcus Marcus Maige signaled for them to sit down; she also stopped beside Sean and then said very suddenly:
"Professor Lu Ping sent an owl in advance, saying that you encountered something not very pleasant—" ===== CHAPTER 893 =====
