Chapter 249: Visiting Mr. Weasley

~7 min read 1,332 words

Before night fell, the train slowly drove into King's Cross Station.

The platform was crowded, the sound of carts, the flapping of owls, and the playfulness of children mixed together.

John held Hermione's hand, moving against the flow in the surging crowd.

"Let's go back and put down our luggage first, then go to St. Mungo's to see Mr. Weasley."

John said to Hermione beside him.

"Okay." Hermione nodded, having no opinion.

The two arrived outside the platform, met Ryan and the others by chance, including Ryan's parents.

Ryan's mother saw that her son was not walking with John and breathed a sigh of relief.

Then she saw John's figure from afar.

She didn't make any disgusted expression, but rather a trace of guilt in her indifference.

Clearly she also knew that it was wrong for her to break up the children's friendship like this.

John just nodded slightly at her, didn't speak, and didn't stop his steps, pretending not to be familiar.

Hermione tightened the hand holding him; she already knew Ryan's current situation from John's mouth.

Also understood that Ryan's mother's obstruction was not out of malice, but fear.

But she still felt very sorry for John.

Just because he was too famous and was squeezed out.

It was like when she was a child, because she was too precocious, too proud, and was treated as a freak by her peers who didn't want to make friends with her.

Of course, John and Ryan didn't really alienate, just tactical isolation.

So John himself didn't actually care about this.

Because they had told their families about today's arrangements, they didn't let their parents come to welcome them.

John directly took Hermione home first, put down the luggage, and went out again.

The address of St. Mungo's was not far from here, so they walked directly over.

This hospital was not like the Ministry of Magic, hidden deep underground.

Instead, it was built in the center of London.

However, its appearance was disguised as a dilapidated department store that had suspended business.

The two arrived at a glass display window on the first floor of the department store.

In the display window were two mannequin models, as long as you told them your purpose, you could pass through the display window and enter St. Mungo's Hospital directly.

"Such a prime location, no Muggle thought of a way to buy it?" John looked at this "abandoned department store" and said incredibly.

"Probably those who wanted to buy it were blocked by the Ministry of Magic."

Hermione said while pulling John to the display window.

"We are here to visit Mr. Arthur Weasley."

Following Hermione's words, the mannequin model in the display window moved its hand, then made a welcoming gesture, and the display window glass immediately rippled like water.

Hermione held John's hand and took a light step, the coolness brushing her face.

The clear scent of disinfectant mixed with mint herbs rushed toward them, and the cold cement under their feet turned into warm oak flooring.

The crystal chandelier overhead cast soft light, the floating medical record scrolls on both sides of the corridor rotated slowly, and a long "Next—please go to the 'Spell Rebound Department' Room 3!" came from afar.

"Wow."

John, who came for the first time, stared curiously at everything here.

This place was different from a Muggle hospital, there was no front desk, fee collection office, medicine collection office, and other messy things.

After all, there was more convenient magic help, and from time to time, various medical records or floating medicine bottles floated past from the end of the corridor.

Each floor had different functions and departments, and after going to the corresponding floor, everything needed was solved on the corresponding floor.

The doctors here were collectively referred to as healers, or intern healers, all wearing lime-green robes.

The first floor was the Artifact Accident Department, mostly common illnesses, such as cauldron explosions, or being injured by their own spell rebound.

But it was also the busiest floor.

The second floor was the Biological Injury Department, as the name suggests, it was a place where patients bitten, stung, or scratched by various magical creatures gathered.

Mr. Weasley was here, he was bitten by a poisonous snake.

The floors behind wouldn't be introduced for now, after all, there was no need to go up—at least not today.

The two arrived at the second floor, this place was much quieter than the first floor.

Mr. Weasley's ward was at the end of the corridor.

After entering, there were not only Mr. Weasley in the ward, but also two other patients lying inside.

John subconsciously lightened his steps, his eyes sweeping over the other two hospital beds.

One was a female wizard, with thick gauze bandaged on her thigh.

The other was a middle-aged wizard who looked somewhat hopeless, staring at the ceiling in a daze, unable to see where he was injured.

Finally, it was Mr. Weasley.

He was half-leaning on the pillow, his glasses slid to the tip of his nose, and he was still clutching a copy of "The Daily Prophet" in his hand.

"Hmm? John, Hermione?"

The first to discover the two was Mrs. Weasley, who was taking care of Mr. Weasley.

"Oh my, come in, come in!"

She put down the thermos in her hand and greeted the two to come over and sit down.

Mr. Weasley also put down the newspaper and looked at them, greeting with a smile.

"Why did you two come over?"

"We heard that you were injured and hospitalized, Mr. Weasley, so we came to see you."

"Oh, thank you for your concern." He raised his hand to push his glasses and answered with a smile.

His spirit looked quite good.

Of course, provided that he ignored the gauze all over his body...

The two sat down and chatted simply with Mr. and Mrs. Weasley.

From their mouths, they could learn that after Mr. Weasley was sent here for emergency rescue last night, he didn't wake up until almost morning.

Then Harry and several Weasley children all came to visit Mr. Weasley in the morning, and now they had all returned to the Order of the Phoenix.

"How are your injuries now, Mr. Weasley, what did the doc... healer say?"

Halfway through the chat, John looked at the bandages all over Mr. Weasley and asked worriedly.

"The healer said there is a kind of snake venom on his wound that inhibits wound healing."

"Now we must frequently change the gauze and cooperate with blood-replenishing medicine to maintain the body's state, otherwise the blood loss speed will far exceed the regeneration ability."

Mrs. Weasley on the side took over the conversation, these were the doctor's orders.

"At least during this time, he can't leave St. Mungo's."

"But the good news is that the snake venom activity is slowly weakening." Mr. Weasley also opened his mouth, his tone relaxed, as if he were talking about the weather.

"So don't worry too much."

"I also happen to take paid leave for a while, haha."

Mr. Weasley said and laughed, not taking this accident to heart at all, what an incredibly optimistic person.

"That's good."

Hearing this, the two were relieved.

If someone encountered misfortune at this time, it would be a heavy blow to all of them.

"It's getting late, so we'll go back first."

"Before Christmas, we will come to visit you again."

John looked at the sky outside and stood up to say goodbye.

Mrs. Weasley nodded and smiled, and then asked with concern.

"Are you going to the Order of the Phoenix to spend Christmas with the children?"

"We will send Christmas blessings, but on Christmas day, we have arrangements at home, so we don't have a chance for the time being."

John and Hermione looked at each other and shook their heads, saying apologetically.

"It's okay, we welcome you to come over at any time." ===== CHAPTER 250 =====
