Chapter 277: Voldemort's Arrival

~7 min read 1,271 words

Harry finally chose compromise.

Because he had no other choice.

"Beila, you must guarantee that after obtaining the Prophecy Orb, you will not attack us, including the people you brought."

Professor Moody, standing nearby, added.

Beila looked at Moody and gave a cold smile.

"Don't play word games with me, old man, I can certainly guarantee that my colleagues and I will never attack you."

"Of course, provided that you do not attack us."

Seeing that Beila hadn't taken the bait, Professor Moody snorted coldly.

He had originally planned to hand over the Prophecy Orb and then snatch it back in one swift motion.

Seeing no other way, Harry reluctantly grasped Beila's hand.

The golden threads instantly tightened, firmly binding their clasped hands.

The oath was formally established.

The Death Eaters behind them, seeing this, also lowered their wands.

Their sole purpose on this mission had always been the Prophecy Orb.

Whether this person lives or dies now is irrelevant.

Harry, seeing this, slowly handed the Prophecy Orb to Beila.

Beila stared at the Prophecy Orb in her hand, her joy nearly spilling over her eyes.

Once this task is completed, the master will favor me even more than before!

"Retreat!"

Beila shouted loudly, retrieved her wand, and also dragged the stunned Lu Xius from the Prophecy Orb Hall.

She then took the stairs to the main hall, intending to withdraw directly.

Although there were still people in the Ministry of Magic, they were all non‑combat civil staff.

Even Fudge could only hide in his office, too afraid to appear.

No one could stand in their way.

Harry and his group could only watch helplessly as Beila's party marched away.

However.

When they returned to the main hall.

Boom!!

A surge of crimson flame suddenly materialized out of nowhere, blocking the Death Eaters.

It was the phoenix's flame!

"Dumbledore is here!"

Seeing the scene, Professor Moody couldn't help shouting excitedly.

Only the phoenix and the House‑Elf could ignore the Ministry of Magic's protective barrier and Apparition directly here.

Hearing that, combined with the strange sight before them.

All the Death Eaters froze instantly, their throats seized by fear.

Amid the crackling of flame scorching the air, a figure slowly emerged from the fire.

A black‑blue cloak billowed like a night tide, and wild black hair danced wildly in the flames.

Seeing the newcomer, everyone was stunned.

"John!?"

Harry was the first to exclaim in surprise.

The newcomer was not Dumbledore, but the returned John.

And Phoenix Fawkes obediently perched on his shoulder.

"Looks like I'm not late."

John saw the dozen‑plus Death Eaters lined up neatly and gave a cold smile.

Although unsure what had happened, Harry and his three companions dutifully followed behind the Death Eaters, as if escorting guests out.

But he had no mind to ponder this bizarre scene.

He now only wanted to crush all these damned Death Eaters!!

Swoosh!!

A massive Stone Wall rose from behind him.

Blocking the Death Eaters' only path to the fireplace.

Beila, seeing the newcomer wasn't Dumbledore, instantly breathed a sigh of relief.

"Hahaha! Dumbledore didn't come, and instead sent a little devil to die!"

She sneered and raised her wand.

Professor Moody immediately shouted a warning.

"John! Run!"

"We have made an unbreakable oath with her, so we cannot act against them now!"

An unbreakable oath?

John naturally understood what that meant.

Now he knew why the two of them could coexist peacefully.

It must have been some agreement that bought the four of them a way out.

But John didn't care.

He lifted his hand directly and drew the weapon he had prepared long ago.

Bang!

A scorching white flash erupted.

Beila felt her hair stand on end in an instant.

That wasn't a wand!

It was a Muggle gun!

Crack!

The Iron Armor Spell only managed to open halfway before the bullet shattered the defense.

They only had time to turn their head to dodge.

Sss!

Blood spray splattered onto her pallid cheek, the bullet grazing her left ear and tearing half of the ear lobe apart in an instant.

Beila's scream was cut off before it left her mouth; a Death Eater behind her, failing to dodge in time, was hit squarely in the brow by a shot.

John didn't stop; the second and third shots rang out in succession.

The muzzle flash flickered in the dim hall like a cold‑blooded heartbeat.

The Death Eaters' formation completely collapsed, their black robes flailing like startled bats.

"Avada Kedavra Curse!!"

A ghastly green spell suddenly surged toward John.

But John didn't move; he raised the hand holding his wand.

A wall of spikes rose from the ground like a wave.

While blocking the Killing Curse, it twisted fiercely toward the Death Eaters.

He waved his wand again.

The water in the fountain at the main hall surged upward with a roar, forming a massive hand that, driven by water pressure, slammed toward the three nearest Death Eaters.

Bang!!

At that moment, several spells simultaneously hurled at John.

John again swung his wand sideways, and another stone wall sprang up from the ground, blocking the spells before crashing into the Death Eaters.

Boom!!

A thick Fire Snake suddenly rose ahead, an uncontrolled Fiery Fire countering, and lunged at John.

"That's Fierce Fire!"

Professor Moody shouted from afar.

They had been hiding at the back from the start, unable to help, and could only watch.

John's performance far exceeded their expectations.

The entire battlefield resembled a stage; he stood at the front, brandishing his wand and the gun‑like Fire Gun in his hand.

One person pressed down on the entire Death Eater camp.

And the moment the Fire Snake appeared, John also swung his wand.

A massive Rock Giant Hand burst through the stone wall behind him!

Its five fingers spread, engulfing shattered stone and dust, directly grabbing the Fire Snake and the Death Eaters behind it, and crushing them mercilessly!

Blood and fire exploded in the air, forming a mist of intertwined crimson and scorching gold.

Everyone's jaw dropped at the sight before them.

The most shocked of all was Professor Moody.

He knew John's combat power from last year best, and couldn't believe only a year had passed.

John's strength had undergone such an earth‑shattering change.

His magical power was now immensely dense, unlike last year when overusing spells caused overload and nosebleeds.

His control over Magic had become even more refined.

In no time at all.

Of the dozen‑plus Death Eaters, only three were still standing.

Beila and two strangers.

The rest: the dead were dead, the wounded were wounded.

The Prophecy Orb had already shattered.

It lay shattered on the ground after John's recent storm‑like onslaught.

Beila's fingernails dug deep into her palm, staring intently at John.

The little brat's strength far exceeded the intelligence estimate; with the Prophecy Orb broken, she could no longer report to Voldemort.

John was too lazy to bother with the poisonous fire in her eyes; he raised his hand and fired a shot.

Snick!

The bullet struck a barrier, sparking before bouncing off.

?!

A figure cloaked in a black robe, its skin pale as paper, appeared beside Beila at an unknown moment.

The moment they saw him.

Besides the Death Eaters, everyone present held their breath, including the Ministry of Magic staff watching from behind the glass upstairs.

Someone knocked over a teacup, someone else let out a startled scream and covered their mouth, and many clung tightly to the glass, their knuckles turning white.

And Fudge was terrified, staring at that silhouette, his body shaking like a sieve.

"V... Voldemort!"
