Chapter 335: Bitter Battle

~7 min read 1,317 words

Voldemort was hit hard and flown dozens of meters, crashing into a collapsed Xuesonglin.

John gave him no chance to catch his breath.

Continuing to wave his wand, the surrounding ground violently trembled, as if a great hand clenched, tightly gripping Voldemort in a giant palm woven of frost and rock.

Forming a small Earth Mound that trapped her inside.

Then John shouted toward Professor Moody and the others behind him.

"Quickly break the Sealing Spell, then escape with the Door Key!"

"I can't hold Voldemort for long!"

Hearing this, Professor Moody and the others immediately sprang into action.

Anti-Phantom Shift is the hardest to tear, so as long as they focus their energy on breaking the Sealing Spell, they can directly leave via the Door Key.

Boom boom boom!!

At that moment, several explosive sounds erupted from the small Earth Mound trapping Voldemort.

Voldemort burst straight out of the ground.

His whole body was covered in ice crystals and gravel, with dark red blood seeping from the tears in his black robe.

"John Merick! I will tear your corpse into ten thousand pieces!!"

Having just burst from the ground, Voldemort roared angrily at John.

Besides the anger from his Horcrux being destroyed,

more so was the humiliation of being played by a "Muggle-born mudblood."

"Oh, you're in a hurry?"

"You might as well know, Voldemort, we've discovered the secret of your Horcrux—without this Horcrux, you can't achieve immortality."

John got right in his face and began mocking Voldemort.

But he deliberately said "without this Horcrux" to avoid revealing that his side already knew he possessed seven Horcruxes.

They could create an information gap, making Voldemort think they only knew of one Horcrux, then lure him into repeatedly checking the locations of the others.

Voldemort indeed paused slightly, narrowed his eyes, then slowly curled the corner of his mouth into a near-pitying arc.

"Poor Meilik... do you think destroying one Horcrux can shake my immortal foundation?"

Hearing that, John immediately showed a look of shock.

"Is, is it possible!?"

"You still have more than one?"

A hoarse angry sound rolled from Voldemort's throat, and he did not answer John's question.

"It's time for you to pay the price for your actions, Meilik!"

"Wait, why don't we chat a bit more?"

John hastily raised his hand, trying to buy time.

But Voldemort wouldn't give John any chance.

The tip of his wand suddenly burst forth a sickly green Killing Curse.

John no longer played with words, he waved his wand.

Several Stone Walls rose from the ground, the Killing Curse's pure destructive force crushing three of them, barely managing to block its full power.

But Voldemort didn't stop, continuing to wave his wand, another Killing Curse shot toward him.

Seeing there was no time to summon another Stone Wall, John dove sideways and rolled, dodging it again.

At the same time he cast a Disarm Spell.

The scarlet Magic Spell shot straight at Voldemort's face, but he deflected it with a flick of his wand.

Seeing the Killing Curse couldn't hit anyone, Voldemort simply stopped using it.

Waving his magic, three whirlwinds rose, forming three small tornadoes within three seconds.

They swept up broken branches and stones, howling as they came.

But it wasn't over; Voldemort waved his wand again, three strands of Fierce Fire were sucked in, instantly igniting the tornadoes.

The fire dragon tornado bore down on John like a beast.

As long as it wasn't the Killing Curse—a spell that kills on contact—John dared to touch it.

He stepped back half a pace, and the ground before him suddenly bulged upward.

A Stone Giant burst from the earth, its arms crossed to block ahead.

The fire dragon tornado slammed hard into the Stone Giant, scorching hot blasts hurling gravel like shrapnel in a sweep.

John didn't relent; his wand tip flared with Golden Flame, coating the Stone Giant entirely.

Enchant?

I can do that too!

Straight up fight fire with fire.

Only to see the Stone Giant's surface also ignite with golden flame patterns, turning it into something like a Lava Giant.

Golden Flame and Fierce Fire clashed fiercely, while the Lava Giant held back the tornado's further advance.

Voldemort watched the scene, curling his lip in a contemptuous sneer.

"Trivial tricks."

He flicked his wrist, and a thick Magic Spell slammed straight into the Stone Giant's chest.

With just one strike, the terrifying power blasted the Stone Giant into Four Parts Five Splits, lava fragments wrapped in Golden Flame scattering everywhere.

John was flung to the ground by the shockwave, but he didn't dare linger, immediately getting up.

But three fire dragon tornadoes had already closed in on him, his robes even beginning to scorch and curl, his skin feeling a stinging pain.

John hastily pulled out a solid steel ball and threw it into the sky.

He poured magical power.

Then, three fire dragon vortices converged, directly engulfing John's figure.

In the distance, Professor Moody and the few people still breaking the sealing spell widened their eyes.

"John!!"

They could only watch helplessly as John was engulfed by Voldemort's spell, yet they could do nothing.

Such an attack cannot be withstood by a single person's Iron Armor Spell.

"Don't worry, it'll be your turn soon."

Seeing John engulfed by the fire dragon vortex, Voldemort's mood instantly brightened.

When he looked at Moody and the others, their expressions were all quite pleased.

Inside the fire dragon vortex, there was no movement at all.

In other words, Voldemort won.

Thereafter, Voldemort controlled the three fire dragon vortices and launched them toward Moody's side.

However.

When the fire dragon vortex had just swept past the spot where John had been.

A perfectly round dark-red sphere was exposed, looking like an iron ball heated to redness.

Everyone froze for a moment.

Only saw fine cracks appear on the sphere's surface, spreading like a spiderweb;

The next moment, golden flame burst from the cracks, and the black ball exploded suddenly.

The earlier sword light that had cut across the snowfield burst forth from within, the golden flame poured down like a waterfall, and struck straight at Voldemort.

Voldemort's pupils contracted sharply, and he instinctively twisted his body to dodge.

But it was already too late.

The sword light tore through the air, cutting off his left shoulder sleeve.

A severed hand flew straight out.

The severed end was a charred black mark, with bluish smoke curling upward.

"Ugh ah ah ah!!"

Voldemort's painful howl rang out.

He looked toward the exploded black ball, while John was leaning against the broken sphere wall and slowly walking out.

John had just relied on the Transfiguration Spell to construct for himself an absolute defense, an iron cocoon.

Moreover, hiding inside the cocoon, he completed the charging of the spell, inflicting heavy damage.

But John was also faring poorly.

His whole body was exhausted and sweating, his nosebleed kept flowing, and his vision kept going dark.

The makeshift physical defense constructed with the Transfiguration Spell in haste was not as resistant as imagined.

Only by continuously pouring magical power could he barely hold on.

Even so, merely being trapped inside the heated iron ball, the high temperature nearly baked him to suffocation.

Fortunately, in the end he finally completed the spell's charging in time.

Regardless of whether Voldemort had moved the fire dragon vortex.

He had to unleash this strike before the defense shattered, at least destroying the fire dragon vortex, otherwise he would be steamed to death inside the iron shell.

Once again inhaling the fresh, cold air flowing into his lungs, John felt as if he had been reborn, gasping deeply.

He wiped away his nosebleed, his gaze sweeping over Voldemort's charred severed arm and twisted visage, the corner of his mouth slowly curling into a weary yet sharp arc.

"Really, Voldemort, that was close—I doubt I'll ever forget today."
