Chapter 403

~6 min read 1,139 words

"Er..."

Hogwarts Infirmary

Harry, lying on the bed, finally let out his first groan from the coma, his eyelids twitching slightly.

Ginny and Mrs. Pomfrey, who were standing by, immediately rushed over.

"Harry! Harry!"

Ginny shouted anxiously, while Mrs. Pomfrey quickly checked Harry's condition.

Harry slowly opened his eyes amid a severe headache, his vision blurry for a moment before gradually clearing.

Upon seeing his surroundings, he was dazed for an instant.

But soon, the explosions and shouts outside the castle brought his memory back.

Harry immediately sat up anxiously and looked at Ginny.

"Ginny, what's the situation outside now? Where's Voldemort!"

Ginny quickly pressed his shoulder: "Don't rush, Harry! Everyone is now guarding the castle, and the outer defensive barrier still stands."

"Voldemort is currently fighting John, but we also haven't learned the specific details."

Hearing this, Harry became even more anxious.

"I must go find John! Quick!"

He threw off the blankets, swung his legs out of bed, ignoring Mrs. Pomfrey's obstruction, and stumbled toward the door.

Although Ginny didn't know what happened to Harry, she still supported him as they ran out of the infirmary.

Along the way, Ginny still cared about Harry's condition, that is, the state of Voldemort's remnant soul.

"Voldemort's remnant soul has already disappeared."

Harry slowly spoke; hearing this, Ginny instantly broke into an excited smile: "Really? That's great!"

However, Harry's next sentence left her stunned again.

"But, just now in the dream, I had my last mental connection with Voldemort..."

"Voldemort came prepared..."

"He again created an eighth... or, for him, the true seventh Horcrux..."

Hearing this, Ginny's face instantly changed.

They, after great effort, finally destroyed all of Voldemort's Horcruxes.

Unexpectedly, Voldemort created a new Horcrux.

Theoretically, Voldemort's soul was already shattered beyond repair, making it hard for him to create another Horcrux.

Therefore, when they previously planned, they hardly considered this possibility.

But now, Voldemort actually managed to do it.

"What, what is that Horcrux?" Ginny asked anxiously.

"It's a wand..."

"That Elder Wand..."

Bang!!

John's body slammed hard into the rubble, shards scattering.

He coughed up a mouthful of blood, propped himself up from the ground and slowly rose, his gaze fixed firmly on the figure ahead wielding the Elder Wand.

Something's off, that Elder Wand is definitely not right.

John wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, staring at the Elder Wand in Voldemort's hand.

Even the Disarm Spell had no effect on that wand, and his own spells were completely blocked.

【Brother, that wand seems to have a faint soul aura...】

At this moment, the voice of Yueer from within his body sounded.

【Feeling, it's a bit like a Horcrux, but...】

Hearing this, John's heart jumped and he frowned.

"But what?" John pressed.

【But it's not quite like a normal Horcrux; the soul within it still seems tightly connected to Voldemort's own soul】

【Unlike previous Horcruxes, which were clearly split off and existed independently】

John's brow furrowed even deeper.

John had previously discussed with Dumbledore the possibility of Voldemort creating a new Horcrux.

Dumbledore's conclusion was that it was unlikely.

Voldemort's soul is now so fragmented that it can hardly endure another splitting trauma.

Even if forcibly created, it would likely cause him to lose even his own sanity.

But now, Voldemort has not only successfully created a new Horcrux, but also shows no sign of soul instability.

Combined with this Horcrux being different from before, John can't help but speculate.

Voldemort has developed a different, more powerful method of creating Horcruxes.

No wonder his spells were all blocked; it turns out that Elder Wand has become a Horcrux, gaining the property of ignoring spells.

Added to its inherent unmatched power, it has become Voldemort's ultimate offensive and defensive weapon.

"We must destroy that wand." John muttered under his breath, looking at Voldemort, gathering his full resolve.

But how to destroy it?

Like before, using the basilisk's fang?

This Horcrux is different from before, being tightly gripped in Voldemort's hand, making it obviously impossible to easily seize or destroy.

Must use a more direct attack.

Must hit with one strike, cannot let Voldemort notice the intention.

Boom!!

Another explosion drowned John.

"Ha, you dare to space out facing me? Looks like you think you're not dying fast enough."

Voldemort contemptuously waved his wand, dispersing the smoke and dust, revealing John half-kneeling on the ground.

Afterwards he continuously waved his wand, several green lights shot toward John in succession.

John could only dodge embarrassingly, his body rolling among the rubble.

The successive attacks instead calmed John down.

No matter how troublesome that wand is, as long as we deal with Voldemort, everything can be discussed.

If we truly can't beat him, just stall for time.

Wait for Dumbledore and Grindelwald to return, three against one, he still doesn't believe Voldemort can stir up any trouble.

With that thought, John surged forward again.

While dodging a Killing Curse, Divine Edge Unseen poured forth.

Voldemort snorted coldly, directly bearing it with the Mercury Shield.

Then he backhanded a Piercing Heart and Bone straight at John's chest.

John grunted, and Voldemort thought he had succeeded.

But the next second, John waved his wand, a Golden Flame Whip lashing hard at Voldemort's body.

On contact, a violent explosion instantly blasted Voldemort away.

【...... pain】

Yoru felt pain in his head, sucking in cold breaths, John apologetically muttered to himself.

"Sorry, Yoru, I'll hit it back for you."

Saying that, John flung several powerful Magic Spell toward the direction Voldemort was blasted.

Voldemort burst from the smoke, horizontally swung his wand, deflected all Magic Spell.

"Are you just scratching me?" Voldemort's voice dripped with mockery; he pressed his wand, an invisible shockwave flung John directly away.

"Tit for tat!" John, flying backward, adjusted his posture in midair, his wand pointed sharply at Voldemort's feet.

The ground suddenly collapsed into a mire, swallowing Voldemort's legs.

As Voldemort tried to capitalize and chase, he staggered and was caught by the mire.

John also finally fell to the ground, rolled twice, then quickly got up.

Voldemort, meanwhile, directly propped himself up with Mercury, freeing himself from the mire's restraint.

Both waved their wands simultaneously.

Red and green lights violently collided in midair, bursting out rings of energy ripples.

"Hahaha, your magic is weakening, Meilik!"

Voldemort's shout came, excited with killing intent.

"You don't seem to be doing much better either!"

John retorted mockingly without giving an inch.

Both increased their magic output together.

At the collision's center, even space twisted and trembled.

The two seemed unable to do anything to each other.

Just then.

"John!!"

A shout came from the direction of the Corridor Bridge.

Hearing that voice, both were startled, simultaneously looking that way.

Only unlike Voldemort's shock and disbelief.

John, however, showed a relieved smile.

It was Harry who had come out.
