Chapter 53: Buckbeak
The next morning.
John got up very early.
Because he had an appointment with Hermione to visit Hagrid's hut today.
Ignoring Ryan and Ethan who were still sleeping in, he went to the Great Hall alone.
After arriving, he found that the chubby guy Titus was actually already eating breakfast.
He had thought that a little chubby guy like Titus should be very fond of sleeping in.
"Morning, Titus."
"Oh, John, did you and Senior Hermione make such an early appointment today?"
Titus saw John and asked curiously.
John had mentioned today's itinerary to his friends before, telling them to go have fun on their own and not worry about him.
So Titus knew about John and Hermione's appointment.
"Uh-huh, what about you? Why are you up so early?"
John sat directly on the Hufflepuff side and ate breakfast with Titus.
"Of course, it's to eat breakfast. I'll just go back and catch up on sleep after I'm done."
"......"
Hearing Titus's answer, John was a bit speechless.
He really couldn't miss a single meal.
"Good morning, John, and your friend, I remember his name is Titus, right?"
At this moment, Hermione appeared beside them and greeted the two.
"Senior Hermione, morning." John responded very calmly.
"Yes, my name is Titus, hello Senior."
And Titus, as if he had seen a leader, immediately greeted her uprightly.
Hermione smiled and sat down beside John.
"Let's eat together; after we're done, we'll go to Professor Hagrid's together."
John pushed the tray in front of Hermione and said.
Hermione didn't refuse either.
Titus, who was on the side, watched the way the two were interacting and became more and more certain of his guess.
These two, they have an affair.
Titus suddenly had an idea in his heart.
"John, last time I saw you coming back from outside the castle in the middle of the night with Senior Luna; what were you two doing?"
Hearing Titus's question, Hermione, who had originally been smiling, stiffened.
"Why are you suddenly asking this? Didn't I mention it to you before?"
And John asked somewhat curiously.
Hearing John's words, Hermione's expression froze again; did they really stay outside until the middle of the night before coming back?
One night a month ago, John did indeed go outside with Luna and didn't come back until very late.
But that was because they were busy with serious business.
"At that time, Senior Luna told me that on the night of the full moon, the moonlight flowers near the Forbidden Forest would glow."
"If you pick them at this time, the magic within them will be twice as full as usual, so she asked me to help collect them."
"Don't say, at the edge of the pitch-black Forbidden Forest, seeing flowers twinkling with light, it was actually quite beautiful."
John recalled the events of that day while speaking slowly.
He even brought back a glowing moonlight flower at the time; didn't Titus know that?
After hearing John's words, Hermione's expression eased slightly; clearly, she breathed a sigh of relief.
"How many flowers can you pick in a whole night?"
As a result, Titus's next sentence made Hermione's heart rise again.
"Nonsense, it was pitch black at the time."
"Senior Luna said that we couldn't use the Lighting Spell, as light pollution would prevent the moonlight flowers from absorbing moonlight normally."
"We were moving forward in the dark, and we had to wait for the moonlight flowers to absorb enough moonlight before we could pick them."
"That's why we were busy until very late. No, why are you speaking so sarcastically?"
John looked at Titus in confusion, always feeling that his few sentences were strange.
Hearing John's explanation, Hermione breathed a sigh of relief again.
She didn't know why, but hearing John alone with other girls at night made her feel uncomfortable.
"Oh, it's nothing, I just suddenly remembered, just curious."
Titus nodded with a sudden realization, not asking any more questions.
Making John feel a bit confused.
And Titus had already taken in Hermione's reaction.
Sure enough, Senior Hermione was interested in John, it just wasn't obvious yet.
He didn't know what John thought of her.
Soon John and Hermione finished breakfast, and after saying goodbye to Titus, they went to Hagrid's hut together.
On the way, for some reason, Hermione became somewhat reticent.
She looked like she had something on her mind.
Although John felt a bit strange, he tactfully didn't ask more.
Don't pry into a girl's secrets.
Fortunately, they soon arrived outside Hagrid's hut, and from afar, they saw Hagrid fiddling with his giant pumpkins in the yard.
Most importantly, there was an extra magical creature in the pumpkin patch that John had never seen before.
At first glance, it looked very much like a legendary Griffin.
But it didn't look as powerful as a Griffin; instead, it knelt on the ground like a horse.
And it even had a shackle around its neck, locked to an iron pillar, and its demeanor looked listless.
It wasn't hard to guess that it should be that Hippogriff, Buckbeak.
But after noticing the arrival of John and Hermione, it still raised its head for the first time and looked straight at them.
Hagrid also noticed Buckbeak's reaction, and following Buckbeak's gaze, he turned his head and saw Hermione and John walking side-by-side.
"Oh, children, good morning."
Hagrid saw them, and a smile tugged at his somewhat weary face.
"Hagrid, Buckbeak, it..."
Hermione also noticed Hagrid's reluctance and spoke with a hint of heartache.
"It's okay, Hermione, Dumbledore has fought for some more opportunities for it, we still have time."
Hagrid waved his hand, signaling Hermione not to worry too much, it was just that Buckbeak's mood wasn't very good after being locked up.
Just as the two were talking, John curiously approached Buckbeak.
He knew the correct way to contact a Hippogriff.
First, you must look it in the eye, then bow to it.
If it returns the bow, then you can continue to approach and pet it.
John slowly bowed to Buckbeak, his movements serious and standard.
Buckbeak's golden eyes looked at John, tilted its head slightly, and then slowly lowered its head to return the bow.
Seeing this, John's mouth curled up, and he slowly approached Buckbeak and reached out to gently stroke its neck.
The texture of Buckbeak's feathers was rough and tough, not as soft as he had imagined.
Well, it was a beast after all, even the kind that could fight a werewolf one-on-one, so of course it wasn't that delicate.
"Oh my god, John, when did you go over there?"
"What if Buckbeak hurt you?"
At this moment, Hagrid finally noticed John's actions and said in surprise.
"Professor Hagrid, don't you trust it anymore?"
"I just wanted to verify my conjecture; sure enough, Buckbeak is a gentle animal."
"You only need the correct way to contact it, and it won't have any aggression."
Hearing Hagrid's words, John said with a chuckle while stroking Buckbeak.
Hagrid was also speechless for a moment; clearly, he had also been confused by those sharp voices recently, losing his judgment of Buckbeak.
He began to worry about whether Buckbeak would really hurt people.
Or rather, he was worried that Buckbeak would cause trouble again, making it completely impossible for it to overturn the case.
While feeling guilty, he was also moved.
The outside world was spreading Buckbeak's notoriety, saying it was dangerous, irritable, and untamable.
But John used his own actions to prove its gentleness. ===== CHAPTER 54 =====
