Chapter 62: Malfoy
The sunset at Hogwarts was very beautiful.
The orange-red radiance spilled onto the spires of the castle.
The breeze brushed over the lake, causing layers of golden light.
John rubbed his shoulders while watching the sunset with Hermione.
Just now Hermione punched his shoulders twice.
Heh, it doesn't hurt!
The two sat on the stone platform of the empty corridor.
After John's fuss just now, Hermione finally forgot the annoying things from the afternoon.
Although John was also quite annoying just now...
But at least Hermione didn't hate it.
After Hermione calmed down, she was finally willing to share her encounter today with John.
It turned out that the reason Hermione cried was because of the old bat again.
This afternoon they were supposed to go to Defense Against the Dark Arts class, but for some reason, Professor Lupin didn't come to teach.
Instead, Professor Snape went to substitute.
In class, Professor Snape asked about the difference between a werewolf and an Animagus.
The whole classroom only had Hermione raising her hand to answer, but Snape deliberately ignored her.
So Hermione couldn't help but open her mouth and answer Snape's question directly.
But not only did she not get praised, she was instead ridiculed by Snape as an annoying know-it-all and deducted 5 points from Gryffindor.
This made Hermione cry from anger.
Snape, it has to be said, had no teacher ethics at all.
John, as the target of Snape's persecution for the past two months, understood Hermione's feelings very well.
"It's okay, Senior Hermione, next time I'll help you pour his potion materials into the sewer."
John patted his chest and said with a look of being ready to die.
Hearing John's words, Hermione couldn't help but hook the corners of her lips.
She reached out and rubbed John's head.
"Don't, you might not succeed in helping me vent my anger, and you might get yourself in trouble instead."
"It's okay! In order to deal with Professor Snape's various punishments, I have already learned a bunch of practical magic from Professor Flitwick, so I'm not afraid."
John didn't resist Hermione's head rubbing and waved his hand indifferently.
"Pfft, are you an idiot?"
Hermione laughed when she heard John say this.
Everyone else was thinking about learning all kinds of powerful spells to show off, but John was good; he learned spells to deal with punishments.
Since it wasn'
They sat there chatting, relaxing their minds.
But at this moment, the voice of an uninvited guest suddenly rang out.
"Oh my, isn't this that annoying know-it-all miss?"
The mocking voice came from the corner; Malfoy was leaning against the wall, a sneer hanging on the corner of his mouth.
He was followed by his two large, burly lackeys.
"Oh, so you were here getting cozy with a junior."
"You were just made to cry by a professor, and you're already looking for someone to comfort you? Truly disgusting."
"But a Mudblood with a Mudblood, it's quite fitting."
Malfoy spoke these sharp words, his face revealing an undisguised look of sarcasm and mockery.
The two lackeys beside him also burst into loud laughter.
Hermione's smile, which had finally recovered, turned cold once again.
It was one thing to insult her, but to also call John a Mudblood—Hermione clenched her fists instantly.
"Malfoy, apologize to me right now!"
Hermione stood up abruptly, staring at Malfoy with fury as she shouted.
"Apologize?"
"Heh, hahahaha."
Hearing this, Malfoy exchanged a look with his two lackeys and burst into laughter, not taking Hermione seriously at all.
Looking at Malfoy's face, Hermione was so angry she wanted to pull out her wand and teach him a harsh lesson.
Hm?
Just as Hermione was about to speak again.
She saw that John had jumped in front of Malfoy before she knew it.
He was holding a Quidditch bat high in his hand.
Malfoy's expression shifted from his recent laughter to one of sheer terror.
With a bang!
The bat slammed directly into the wall behind Malfoy, the impact echoing a dull thud throughout the entire corridor.
Malfoy's face turned deathly pale, and he backed away repeatedly until he was pressed against the wall.
If that bat had hit his head, it would have cracked his skull open.
Even the two lackeys beside him were so frightened that they backed away, putting distance between themselves and John.
"Apologize," John said flatly.
"You, you actually dare to..."
Malfoy swallowed hard, finally regaining his senses; his eyes turned fierce yet cowardly as he tried to continue with tough talk to bolster his courage.
But with a crisp slap—
John struck Malfoy across the face, the force so great that his head was knocked to one side.
Malfoy clutched his face, a flash of shock and rage in his eyes.
He had actually been slapped by a first-year Mudblood?
However, before he could speak again, John grabbed his arm, turned his back, and threw Malfoy over his shoulder, slamming him hard onto the floor.
Malfoy let out a muffled groan as he hit the ground heavily.
"Ugh!!... You, you Mudblood! I'll definitely make my father expel you!"
He arched his body in pain, clutching his back with his hands, cursing incessantly.
But his voice sounded somewhat shaky now.
John sneered and raised his foot to kick Malfoy.
"Ahhh!!"
This kick made Malfoy howl in pain once more.
"Help me, you damn idiots!"
Malfoy shouted at his two lackeys in agony.
The two lackeys finally came to their senses, exchanged a look, and immediately lunged at John.
Seeing this, Hermione reacted and wanted to help.
But John, with a nimble movement, extended a foot and tripped them both, pinning them on top of Malfoy.
Then John continued to kick them fiercely, kicking all three of them at once!
"Mudblood, huh!"
"Know-it-all, huh!"
"Expel me, huh!"
"I'll show you!"
John kept kicking them wildly while shouting.
The three of them were unable to fight back, their screams echoing endlessly.
As expected, using one's feet is the most satisfying way to vent.
If Hermione hadn't finally reacted and grabbed John's arm.
John would have kept kicking.
"John, stop, that's enough."
"If you keep hitting them, you'll attract the professors."
Hermione shouted anxiously.
Hearing Hermione's words, John stopped reluctantly; honestly, all the frustration of the past few days had been cleared away.
"Hermione, why don't you kick them a couple of times too? You'll feel much better after."
John said with a refreshed smile to Hermione beside him.
Hermione was speechless; they were in such a mess, yet he still had the heart to joke.
However, it made some sense.
Hermione hurried over and kicked each of the three in the face once.
They curled into a ball, screaming, with no strength left to resist.
After kicking them, Hermione's eyes lit up.
"That really is satisfying."
Hermione smiled at John.
But as soon as she said it, she immediately grabbed John and hurried away from the scene.
Anyway, they hadn't used any magic, and there were no other witnesses in this area.
As long as they left, even if Malfoy complained to the Headmaster later, it would be useless.
After all, who would believe that three people were beaten down by a first-year freshman?
