Chapter 64

~7 min read 1,257 words

Soon, the group finished breakfast and walked together toward the Quidditch pitch.

They walked all the way to the castle gate and put on their raincoats.

According to Luna, this lion headgear had been enchanted with a waterproof and moisture-proof spell, so it could be used as a rain hood; thus, John draped his raincoat over his body without putting on the hood.

To be fair, among a group of people wearing raincoats, wearing a lion headgear did look quite ridiculous.

However, John didn't care; instead, he found it interesting.

Talk about being the center of attention, right?

I only need to make a slight move to steal the spotlight from the Quidditch teams.

Raindrops hit John's lion headgear, and the beads of water flowed down; the fabric headgear showed no signs of getting wet at all.

"John? You this..."

At this moment, John ran into Neville, who was also walking toward the pitch.

"Is it cool, Neville?"

John narcissistically gave a thumbs-up toward himself and said with a smile.

"......"

Neville looked at John's ridiculous outfit and was speechless for a moment.

If this happened to Luna, he wouldn't find it strange.

But happening to John... uh, it didn't seem strange either?

After a long silence, Neville silently gave a thumbs-up: "Cool."

After Neville gave the thumbs-up, both of them couldn't help but laugh.

The Quidditch pitch in the rain was shrouded in mist, and the seats in the stands were already soaked.

Their group walked into the pitch together.

Neville pulled them over to sit next to a group of Gryffindors; there weren't any strict rules anyway, so everyone just sat down casually.

The match hadn't started yet, but the spectator stands were already bustling with noise.

Even in this storm, it couldn't dampen the enthusiasm of the young wizards.

"Hey John."

At this moment, Hermione also came to John's side; she had noticed John wearing the lion head mixed in with a group of Ravenclaws early on.

"Hermione, you're here too."

"Of course, after all, it's our Gryffindor match."

Hermione responded with a smile and greeted John's friends.

Seeing Hermione appear, Titus very tactfully stood up, changed seats, and gave the spot next to John to Hermione.

Hermione smiled at him and then sat down next to John.

"Your outfit today is quite special; if I didn't know better, I'd think you were one of us from the Lion House."

Hermione reached out and touched John's lion headgear, saying with a smile.

"Your Lion House doesn't have a lion as majestic as me; look around and see if anyone is more majestic than me."

"It was your loss that I didn't get into the Lion House."

John said shamelessly.

Hermione rolled her eyes: "Look at you."

But immediately after, she muttered softly: "Though it is a pity you didn't get into the Lion House..."

John couldn't hear the muttering and continued to show off his lion headgear, completely immersed in his own world of feeling good.

At this moment, a whistle blew inside the pitch, piercing through the rain.

Two teams of players riding flying broomsticks flew out from both sides of the pitch.

One side was wearing yellow cloaks, the other orange-red.

The match had begun.

Suddenly, everyone stood up excitedly to cheer and shout; even the heavy rain couldn't drown out their roar.

From time to time, the sound of wind being torn apart could be heard through the rain.

An official match is indeed different; it's much more exciting than training matches.

Even John, a layman, could see the tension and excitement of the match.

Rumble.

The heavy rain continued to pour, and a clap of thunder streaked across the sky, as if beating the war drums for this intense match.

John looked up at the Seeker in the sky, Harry Potter.

Currently, the Golden Snitch hadn't appeared yet, so Harry Potter and the Hufflepuff Seeker were each circling at the highest position.

John noticed that Harry's gaze would occasionally look toward a certain part of the stands.

He followed Harry's gaze and found that on the opposite stands, a big black dog was sitting there.

???

Seeing the black dog, John couldn't help but be stunned.

How could this person be so bold, appearing so openly at the Quidditch pitch?

The dog sat quietly there, soaked all over, but motionless, staring intently at Harry Potter.

John frowned and looked up toward the professors' spectator area.

Professor Lupin was nowhere to be seen.

John hesitated for a moment, then quietly left the spectator area where he was.

The spectator areas of the pitch were connected, so John squeezed through the crowd bit by bit, moving toward the position of the opposite spectator area.

Back at his original spot, Hermione watched Gryffindor score and immediately cheered happily.

"John, our Gryffindor is leading by 30 points!"

Hermione said happily to the person beside her.

But there was no response.

Hermione looked strangely to her side and found that John was gone before she knew it.

"John?"

Hermione looked around; John's iconic lion headgear had disappeared into the crowd.

"Have you guys seen John?"

She patted Titus in front of her and asked the group.

Hearing Hermione's words, Titus and the others were stunned; how could John be gone?

They shook their heads one after another.

"Look at that one on the opposite side, is that John?"

At this moment, Ryan pointed to the opposite spectator area, at that very conspicuous lion headgear.

The group looked over.

They saw John, wearing the lion headgear, squeezing through the crowd and finally reaching the side of the big black dog.

Then John, without a word, clamped onto the back of the big black dog's neck, lifted it up, and disappeared from the stands again.

This sequence of actions left the group stunned.

"Is that Xiaohei?"

Titus squinted his eyes and said with some uncertainty.

That dog was indeed Xiaohei.

They didn't know that Xiaohei was actually an Animagus.

"Seems like it... why did John go to catch it?"

Ethan also said, feeling a bit strange.

Listening to their discussion, Hermione finally realized that the "Xiaohei" they were talking about was that black dog.

Why did John sneak away alone just to catch a black dog?

A black dog...

She remembered the prophecy Trelawney made about Harry in the first Divination class.

A black dog signifies an omen of death.

Although she didn't believe in that stuff, seeing John leave mysteriously with a black dog made her feel very uneasy.

A sense of doubt and worry surged in Hermione's heart; without much hesitation, she also left the pitch.

And the match was still continuing in full swing.

Rumble.

Another clap of thunder came from above the pitch.

For some reason, the heavy rain became more and more violent, and the raindrops falling on them became cold, carrying an ominous aura.

At this moment, the commentator on the field suddenly shouted passionately: "The Golden Snitch has appeared!"

"Harry Potter has spotted the Golden Snitch!!"

"Cedric of Hufflepuff is also following closely behind!!"

Two figures, one red and one yellow, were seen speeding in the sky, chasing a flash of gold.

The atmosphere on the field became tense to the extreme; the two figures chased together into the high sky and disappeared from everyone's sight.

At this moment, a bolt of lightning streaked across, illuminating the clouds.

What surprised everyone was.

The lightning not only illuminated the clouds but also revealed the hundreds of black shadows flying within them!
