Chapter 135: The Qin Feng He Could Not Escape

~4 min read 645 words

The neon lights of Tang Renjie still flickered, but the street no longer held its usual clamor. Crew members from the film set gathered in small groups to pack up equipment; some leaned against the wall smoking, others dozed on the steps.

"Final take, that's a wrap!"

Old Chen, the assistant director, spoke through the walkie-talkie, his voice weary yet tinged with relief.

Xiang Fei removed his headphones, rubbed his sore eyes, and a smile curled the corners of his mouth.

"Tang Renjie Tansan, wrapped!"

At the wrap banquet, all the key creatives gathered together.

Wu Mengda raised his wine glass, his eyes squinting into a single slit as he laughed: "This shoot was so satisfying! Mr. Tang, remember to call me for the next role!"

Zeng Zhiwei chimed in from the side: "Brother Da, did your fee go up again this time?"

Everyone burst into laughter.

Just then, Tao Hong, smiling, held a glass of red wine, glided gracefully through the crowd, and walked straight toward Duan Long's spot. Her steps were elegant, as if the entire world made way for her.

Duan Long had been staring absentmindedly elsewhere, but when his gaze accidentally met Tao Hong's, his heart suddenly raced, and his face turned instantly red like a ripe apple. He felt at a loss, gripping his wine glass tightly, unsure what to say.

Tao Hong approached Duan Long, gently tapped her glass against his, and said with a smile: "Duan Long, you acted very well." Her voice was gentle and melodious, making the tips of Duan Long's ears turn slightly warm.

Duan Long stammered in reply: "Th-thank you, you acted very well too." His voice was somewhat low, seemingly trembling as well.

Tao Hong seemed not to notice Duan Long's nervousness; she continued smiling and asked: "Are you really going to become famous this time?"

Duan Long took a deep breath, trying to make his voice sound steadier: "Ah... ah, you will too."

The two chatted intermittently like that; Duan Long dared not meet Tao Hong's gaze, fearing she would see right through his thoughts. In fact, Duan Long had always liked Tao Hong, but due to his extreme inferiority, he always felt unworthy of her, so he never dared to confess. After chatting for a while, Tao Hong left.

Duan Long sat quietly aside, clutching the script, as if he had not yet stepped out of the character. Xiang Fei walked over, patted his shoulder, and said: "You acted very well."

Duan Long looked up, unusually offering a smile: "Thank you, Director."

Tao Hong and Li Youbin sat together, discussing their understanding of the characters in low voices.

"The character Ah Xiang is actually very lonely inside," Tao Hong said.

"Mr. Yan is the same," Li Youbin nodded, "outwardly glorious, but in truth, there is not a single trustworthy person by his side."

At dawn, everyone gradually left the hotel.

Wu Mengda and Zeng Zhiwei had their arms around each other's shoulders, promising to collaborate again next time.

Duan Long dragged his suitcase, glanced back at the Bangkok sky, and whispered: "Goodbye, Qin Feng."

Tao Hong and Li Youbin shook hands to bid farewell: "Hope we can collaborate again next time."

Xiang Fei stood at the hotel entrance, watching the actors leave one by one, his heart filled with mixed emotions.

Three months of filming, countless sleepless nights, everyone's efforts, finally reached their conclusion at this moment.

The filming of Tang Renjie Tansan had ended, but the story of the movie had only just begun.

After a while, this film will be released in cinemas nationwide; audiences will see Tang Ren's mercenary nature, Qin Feng's innocence, Ah Xiang's charm, Kun Tai's slickness, Mr. Yan's ruthlessness...

And at this moment, in the morning light of Bangkok, the figures of the crew had gradually faded away.

"Cut!"

This time, it was truly over.
