Chapter 242: Two Years

Evening, as Xiang Fei just pushed open the front door, Xiang Yang rushed over like a little cannonball, hugging his legs.

"Daddy! When is Uncle Xingxing coming to see me?" the little one looked up, eyes sparkling, still waving a DVD of "The Nine-Rank Official" in hand, "I've already watched all his movies!"

Xiang Fei bent down, scraped his nose, and smiled, "Soon, Yangyang."

"Really?" Xiang Yang jumped up excitedly, "Then can I ask him to teach me acting?"

"Of course." Xiang Fei rubbed his hair, his gaze passing over his son to see Zhou Huimin standing in the living room, looking at him with complex eyes.

"Yangyang, come to Mommy." Zhou Huimin called softly.

Xiang Yang immediately let go of Xiang Fei and ran happily toward his mother. Xiang Fei exchanged a glance with his wife and shook his head slightly.

After dinner, Zhou Huimin coaxed Xiang Yang to sleep, returned to the living room, and found Xiang Fei standing by the floor-to-ceiling window, holding a glass of red wine, gazing absentmindedly at the night outside.

"Ah Fei," she walked over and asked softly, "You have the ability to solve the matter with Xingzai, right?"

Xiang Fei did not answer immediately, only taking a sip of wine.

"Back then, you and Sixth Uncle were friends across generations," Zhou Huimin continued, "Although Sixth Uncle has now retired to the background, he still has weight when speaking at Shaw Brothers, right?"

Xiang Fei finally turned around and nodded, "Indeed."

"Then why not go directly to Sixth Uncle?"

"Because Li Guoming, that old fox," Xiang Fei sneered, "knows Xingzai's value, so he has the contract locked down tight. He is waiting; as long as Xingzai's value is squeezed dry, he will kick him aside. If the blockbuster movie isn't finished, he can still collect the breach-of-contract penalty."

Zhou Huimin frowned, "So ruthless?"

"Business is like that." Xiang Fei put down his wine glass, "Xingzai is now forced to shoot 15 movies a year, yet his salary is only 1 million. Li Guoming is counting on Zhou Xingxing having no one to help him, and that he doesn't have enough money and dares not breach the contract."

Zhou Huimin walked to Xiang Fei's side and gently held his hand, "Then when do you plan to help him?"

"In two years."

"So long?" Zhou Huimin was somewhat surprised, "Xingzai is already almost unable to hold on now."

Xiang Fei's gaze was deep, "Xingzai doesn't understand human affairs; I must let him know."

Zhou Huimin fell silent for a moment and sighed, "But during these two years, he will have a hard time."

"I know," Xiang Fei's voice was low, "but this is something he must experience."

Meanwhile, at the Shaw Brothers film set.

Zhou Xingxing had just finished a night scene and sat exhaustedly in the dressing room, holding a revised contract in his hand.

Agent Ah Hui pushed the door open, handed him a cup of hot coffee, and said, "Xingxing, there is another scene at six o'clock tomorrow morning; you must hurry to rest."

Zhou Xingxing gave a bitter smile, "Six o'clock? It would be good enough if I can sleep three hours tonight."

Ah Hui hesitated to speak, but finally said, "President Li asked me to remind you that you still need to complete fourteen more movies starring you as the lead to fulfill the contract quota this year."

Zhou Xingxing closed his eyes and rubbed his temples, "Understood."

Ah Hui hesitated a moment and added, "Also... Feimin seems to be preparing a new project recently; I heard Xiang Fei is personally overseeing it."

Zhou Xingxing suddenly opened his eyes, "What does that mean?"

"Nothing," Ah Hui quickly shook his head, "I just thought... if you could connect with President Xiang, perhaps..."

"Don't think about it, Brother Fei has already helped me enough," Zhou Xingxing interrupted him, "and the contract is in Shaw Brothers' hands; I can't go anywhere."
