Chapter 250: Perfect Ending

New Zealand location shoot, 4 AM.

Mist filled the primeval forest, giant ferns swaying gently in the breeze. The set was brightly lit, hundreds of crew members making final preparations.

Xiang Fei, wrapped in a down jacket, held a cup of hot coffee, eyes fixed on the monitor.

"How are all departments prepared?" he asked Chen Kaige beside him.

Director Chen checked his watch: "The action team is in position, special effects makeup will be done in twenty minutes, and Cheng Long and Teacher Li Xuejian are already in the makeup room."

Xiang Fei nodded: "The first take is crucial; it must be perfect on the first try."

Inside the special effects makeup tent, Liu Xiaoqing sat with eyes closed, letting the makeup artist apply blue special effects paint to her face.

"Teacher Liu, your skin is so good," the makeup artist said carefully, "the makeup adheres perfectly."

Liu Xiaoqing opened her eyes slightly: "Little Miss, when I filmed 'Wu Zetian', I had makeup applied for five hours every day; I'm long used to it."

Her head was already fitted with the Na'vi's unique "neural interface"; long braids hung down her back, swaying gently with her movements.

On the other side, Cheng Long's makeup was much simpler—he only needed a few battle scars painted on his face.

"Ah Long, your makeup is too easy, isn't it?" Anita Mui, passing by, teased, "We're supposed to turn into Smurfs."

Cheng Long grinned: "Who asked me to play a human? But..." he pointed to the motion capture suit on his body, "this tight suit is uncomfortable, it chafes."

At 6 AM, dawn broke in the east.

All actors and crew gathered in Shooting Zone 1. This was a Na'vi village built within the real forest, towering "Home Tree" models standing majestically.

"Quiet!" shouted Chen Kaige, "'Avatar', first take, action!"

The clapperboard snapped: "Scene 1, Take 1, action!"

The camera slowly pushed in:

In the morning light, Liu Xiaoqing, playing the Na'vi priestess Mo'at, stood on the high platform of the Home Tree. She wore a cloak woven from glowing plants made with special effects, her blue skin shimmering in the rising sun.

"Children," she spoke in Na'vi, her voice ethereal and majestic, "the Tree of Souls is calling us."

Below, dozens of extras in motion capture suits playing Na'vi knelt in unison.

Suddenly, an explosion sound came from the distance!

"Cut!" shouted Xiang Fei, "What happened? There's no explosion in the script!"

The head of the special effects team ran over in panic: "Guide Xiang, it's another unit filming an explosion scene; the sound carried over!"

Just as everyone was annoyed, Liu Xiaoqing suddenly improvised:

She spun around sharply, her cloak tracing a graceful arc: "Listen! The roar of demons!"

This on-the-spot reaction was perfect—the originally accidental explosion sound now became a foreshadowing of the human army's attack in the plot!

Behind the monitor, Xiang Fei and Chen Kaige exchanged a glance and simultaneously gave a thumbs-up.

"Excellent!" Xiang Fei said excitedly, "Keep this take! Continue filming!"

The camera turned to the base of the Home Tree:

Cheng Long, playing Jake Sully, rushed out from the crowd: "Mo'at! The humans are here! We must evacuate!"

Liu Xiaoqing slowly descended the high platform, every step carrying the priestess's majesty: "No, Jake. This time, we fight."

A determined light flickered in her eyes, forming a sharp contrast with Cheng Long's tense expression. Suddenly, a low engine sound rang out on the set.

A full-scale "Scorpion" attack aircraft model swept past the treetops—this was a real prop built by the crew at great expense!

The cockpit door opened, and Colonel Miles, played by Li Xuejian, appeared at the hatch. Dressed in military uniform and wearing sunglasses, his cold aura instantly enveloped the entire set.

"Sully!" he shouted in a raspy voice, "Last chance! Surrender, or die!"

Cheng Long looked up in anger: "Colonel, you have no idea who you are opposing!"

Li Xuejian slowly removed his sunglasses, revealing a chilling smile: "I know very well—I am speaking to a group of traitors."

This close-up took only one take; even the cameraman couldn't help but whisper in admiration: "Teacher Li's eyes... absolutely incredible..."

"Cut! Perfect!" Xiang Fei jumped up from his chair, "First take, done!"

The set erupted in enthusiastic applause.

Liu Xiaoqing let out a long sigh, accepting the hot tea handed by her assistant: "It's been so many years since I was this nervous; the pressure of the first take is immense."

Cheng Long walked over, sincerely praising: "Xiaoqing, your improvisation was amazing!"

"Just an actor's instinct," Liu Xiaoqing elegantly took a sip of tea, "but you, hanging from wires, still managed to deliver your lines so steadily."

Not far away, Li Xuejian had already taken off his military jacket and was discussing the previous performance with Leonardo.

"Teacher Li," Leonardo said with a look of admiration, "How did you manage to silence the whole room with just one look?"

Li Xuejian smiled: "Watch more, observe more, and you'll learn."
