Chapter 256: Feimin Operating at High Speed
By the time the plane landed at Capital Airport, it was already late at night.
As Xiang Fei stepped out of the cabin, cold wind mixed with drizzle struck his face. He tightened his trench coat, turned back, and said to Jackie Chan and Anita Mui, "Stay safe on the road; report your safety to me once you reach Xiangjiang."
Jackie Chan patted his shoulder: "Rest assured, we will organize a charity performance immediately upon landing."
Anita Mui also nodded: "The Xiangjiang Artists Association has already contacted me; this time we will go all out."
Xiang Fei nodded solemnly: "Good, keep in touch."
After watching the two board the private car bound for Xiangjiang, Xiang Fei turned and climbed into the black Mercedes waiting beforehand. Zhou Huimin sat beside him, with a grave demeanor: "Go straight to the company?"
"Mm." Xiang Fei rubbed his temples, "First go home to settle Yangyang, then hold a meeting immediately."
At two in the morning, the headquarters of Feimin Entertainment was brightly lit.
All department managers gathered in the conference room, the air thick with tension. Xiang Fei stood before the projection screen, which was playing the latest footage from the disaster zone—floods raging, houses collapsing, and refugees crowded in temporary tents, their eyes helpless.
"Everyone," Xiang Fei's voice was low and powerful, "the domestic great flood has already overflowed, endangering the lives and property of the people."
He scanned the crowd, his gaze burning like a torch: "Take from the people, use for the people; everyone understands this principle, right? We grew up eating the people's grain!"
The conference room fell silent; everyone held their breath.
Dong Wen was the first to stand up, his voice firm: "Feimin Entertainment will donate 50 million, plus 20 million in relief supplies."
Xiang Fei nodded, a hint of approval flashing in his eyes.
Zhou Huimin opened the folder and began to issue Xiang Fei's orders—
"Cai Wen, you are responsible for the company's internal donation matters."
"Okay."
"Dong Xiaoming, lead all artists to the front lines to help—men move supplies, women cook."
"Yes!"
"Li Xin from the Publicity Department, I don't care what methods you use; you must make the whole country know what Feimin has done."
"Understood!"
"Li Mei from the Finance Department, responsible for coordinating all financial expenditures for logistics."
"Alright."
"Zhang Yadong from Feiyang Music, complete an inspiring song within three days; it needs to be warm, understand?"
"Mm."
Zhou Huimin closed the folder: "Directors whose names were not read, lead your own departments to the front lines together."
In the conference room, everyone answered in unison: "Yes!"
After the meeting adjourned, Feimin Entertainment, like a precision machine, began to operate rapidly.
Cai Wen immediately organized staff donations; the Finance Department allocated funds overnight; Dong Xiaoming contacted artist teams to arrange schedules; the Publicity Department worked overtime to make posters and promotional videos; Zhang Yadong went straight to the recording studio to summon Jay Chou and Fang Wenshan for an emergency meeting.
Xiang Fei stood by the office window, watching the busy crowd below, and dialed a phone number—
"Brother Long, Brother Hu, the security company is temporarily closed; transfer all personnel to the disaster zone."
On the other end of the line, Bai Long did not hesitate: "Understood, Brother Fei, we will set off immediately."
Just as Xiang Fei was preparing to leave the company, Chen Hong rushed in through the door.
"Ah Min!" She walked quickly to Zhou Huimin and handed over two checks, "This is 5 million from Old Chen, and 1 million from Teacher Li Xuejian."
Zhou Huimin took the checks, her eyes slightly red: "Thank them on our behalf."
Xiang Fei stepped forward and said in a deep voice: "Sister Chen Hong, is filming on Brother Chen's side proceeding smoothly?"
Chen Hong nodded: "He asked me to tell you that he will keep a close watch on New Zealand, so you can handle domestic matters with peace of mind."
Xiang Fei took a deep breath: "Good, once things stabilize here, I will return immediately."
Inside the Feiyang Music recording studio, Zhang Yadong pushed a task sheet in front of Jay Chou and others.
"Everyone, the General Manager Xiang wants a warm and inspiring disaster-relief song; it must be completed within three days."
Jay Chou took the numbered score, his brows furrowed: "Three days... the time is a bit tight."
Fang Wenshan pushed up his glasses: "I will write the lyrics; I'll stay up all night tonight."
Zhang Yadong tapped the table: "This time it was personally requested by General Manager Xiang; don't mess it up."
Everyone: "Rest assured, I will go all out."
At dawn, the first relief convoy departed from Feimin Entertainment.
Xiang Fei and Zhou Huimin led the team personally; the trucks were loaded with tents, medicine, food, and drinking water.
As the convoy drove out of Beijing, the sky remained overcast, but the rain had stopped.
Zhou Huimin looked at the scenery rushing past the window and asked softly: "Ah Fei, will this disaster be more severe than '98?"
Xiang Fei gripped the steering wheel, his gaze firm: "No matter how severe it is, we cannot retreat."
The convoy gradually moved further away, disappearing into the morning mist.
