~6 min read 1,084 words

Beijing Zoo, the sunlight was bright and warm.

Xiang Fei held Xiao Yang's small hand, strolling in front of the panda exhibit. The little boy stood on tiptoes, his eyes sparkling as he stared at the cuddly giant pandas behind the glass.

"Dad! Look, it's eating bamboo!" Xiao Yang tugged at Xiang Fei's hand excitedly, "It's eating so deliciously!"

Xiang Fei crouched down to eye level with his son and smiled, ruffling his hair: "Do you like pandas, Yangyang?"

"I do!" Xiao Yang nodded vigorously, "They're so cute!"

Watching his son's innocent, radiant smile, Xiang Fei felt a warmth surge in his chest. He suddenly realized he hadn't spent such focused time with Yangyang in a long time.

"Yangyang," Xiang Fei said softly, "from now on, Dad will take you to the zoo every month, okay?"

"Really?" Xiao Yang's eyes widened in delight, then he hesitated, "But Dad, you're so busy..."

Xiang Fei's heart ached; he pulled his son into his arms: "No matter how busy I am, I'll always make time for my little treasure."

Just as the father and son were about to head to the giraffe exhibit, Xiang Fei's phone suddenly rang.

"Hello?"

"Boss Xiang!" came the anxious voice of Zhou Huimin's assistant, "Madam Zhou has been vomiting nonstop—we've taken her to People's Hospital!"

Xiang Fei's face turned pale: "What happened? Is it serious?"

"The doctors are still checking, but Madam Zhou keeps saying she's dizzy and nauseous..."

"I'm on my way!"

After hanging up, Xiang Fei forced down his panic, crouched beside Yangyang, and said: "Yangyang, we need to go see Mommy now."

Xiao Yang sensed his father's unease: "Dad, what's wrong with Mommy?"

"Mommy isn't feeling well," Xiang Fei kept his tone steady, "but she really wants to see Yangyang."

The little boy immediately nodded: "Then let's go quickly!"

Bai Long drove the black Mercedes speeding down Chang'an Avenue.

In the back seat, Xiao Yang pressed his face against the window, his small face filled with worry. Xiang Fei gripped his phone, his knuckles whitening from the pressure.

"Faster," Xiang Fei urged quietly.

Bai Long glanced at his boss in the rearview mirror and silently pressed the accelerator.

Xiao Yang turned his head and whispered: "Dad, Mommy will be okay, right?"

Xiang Fei pulled his son into his arms and kissed his forehead: "She will."

Outside the intensive care ward at People's Hospital, Zhou Huimin's assistant paced anxiously. Seeing Xiang Fei's group approach, she hurried over.

"Boss Xiang! Madam Zhou is inside undergoing tests—the doctors said only a few people can enter..."

Xiang Fei nodded and told Bai Long: "Take Yangyang and wait outside."

"Dad," Xiao Yang tugged at Xiang Fei's sleeve, his big eyes glistening with tears, "I want to see Mommy..."

Xiang Fei crouched down and gently wiped the tears from his son's eyes: "Good boy, Dad will go check first, then bring you in right away, okay?"

Xiao Yang bit his lip, then finally nodded.

Inside the ward, Zhou Huimin leaned half-sitting on the bed, her face slightly pale. Seeing Xiang Fei enter, she smiled softly.

"Afei..."

Xiang Fei hurried to the bedside and took his wife's hand: "What happened? Where does it hurt?"

A flicker of mischief passed through Zhou Huimin's eyes; she whispered: "Sit down first."

Xiang Fei stared at his wife anxiously: "What's going on? What did the doctor say?"

Zhou Huimin gently placed his hand on her abdomen, her face glowing with happiness: "The doctor said... we're going to have a second baby."

Time seemed to freeze in that moment.

Xiang Fei's eyes widened, his lips trembling: "You... you mean..."

"Yes," Zhou Huimin nodded, tears glistening in her eyes, "It's been six weeks."

"That's wonderful!"

Xiang Fei suddenly lifted his wife off the bed and spun her around in the ward. Zhou Huimin gasped, then burst into laughter.

"Put me down! The doctor said I need to rest!"

Xiang Fei carefully set her back on the bed, unable to hide his excitement: "I'm going to be a dad again! I'm going to be a dad again!"

He bent down and kissed his wife's forehead, his voice thick with emotion: "Thank you, Amin."

Zhou Huimin tenderly stroked her husband's cheek: "Fool, it's our gift together."

At that moment, the ward door creaked open, and Xiao Yang's small head peeked in: "Mommy..."

"Yangyang!" Zhou Huimin opened her arms.

The little boy dashed over and threw himself into her arms: "Mommy, are you okay?"

"Mommy's fine," Zhou Huimin kissed her son's cheek, "and I have some good news to tell Yangyang."

Xiao Yang blinked curiously: "What good news?"

Xiang Fei lifted his son onto the bed and said seriously: "Yangyang, you're going to be a big brother."

"Big brother?" Xiao Yang froze for a few seconds, then his eyes shot open, "Is there a baby in Mommy's tummy?"

Seeing his parents nod, the little boy bounced up and down on the bed: "I'm going to be a big brother! I'm going to be a big brother!"

Bai Long and Zhou Huimin's assistant stood at the doorway, watching this warm scene, unable to suppress their smiles.

"Boss Xiang," the assistant smiled, "should we notify the elders?"

Xiang Fei slapped his forehead: "Of course! We have to tell Mom and Dad this good news!"

He pulled out his phone, then suddenly remembered something and turned to the doctor: "How is my wife's condition? What should we pay attention to?"

The attending physician smiled: "Madam Zhou is in excellent health—just experiencing normal pregnancy symptoms. She should rest more and increase her nutrition..."

Xiao Yang pressed his ear against his mother's belly and whispered: "Little baby, I'm your big brother—I'll protect you!"

Zhou Huimin and Xiang Fei exchanged a smile, their ten fingers tightly interlocked.

As they left the hospital, the sun was setting.

In the back seat of the Mercedes, Xiang Yang was already asleep, leaning against his father's chest. Zhou Huimin gently stroked her abdomen, her eyes filled with tenderness.

Xiang Fei held his son with one arm and grasped his wife's hand with the other: "Starting tomorrow, cancel all your work; you stay home and rest properly."

Zhou Huimin shook her head with a smile: "I'm not that delicate; it's only six weeks."

"No," Xiang Fei said with firm resolve.

Zhou Huimin leaned against her husband's shoulder and said softly, "Okay."

Outside the car window, Beijing's night scene shimmered with colorful lights. Inside the car, the heartbeats of the family intertwined, playing a symphony of happiness.
