Chapter 449: Let the Water Get Murkier
A moment later, James Munroe swaggered into the office.
Looking at the soldiers around him with greasepaint on their faces, James spoke as usual: "Why call me over so late? And why have you made your soldiers look like this, so stupidly? And these foreign invaders, what exactly are you trying to do?"
Garza did not speak, only looking at him coldly. This made James feel a bit uneasy.
A moment later, a soldier walked in and threw two bags of US dollars directly at James's feet.
"What is the meaning of this?" James felt increasingly uneasy.
General Garza said coldly: "All these troubles were caused by you. Take your money! You only bring death. Take the money and get out!"
"I'm not going anywhere!" James said stubbornly.
"You are no longer needed here!" Garza said coldly: "I am the boss here!"
"You are just a tool!" James said angrily.
Garza sneered and said: "That's right, without you damned United States Gweilo-controlled tools, from beginning to end it was all your CIA conspiracy, wasn't it?"
"What nonsense are you spouting? I defected from the CIA a long time ago!" James felt a tremor in his heart and hurriedly said.
Barney lit a cigar and said to him indifferently: "Don't quibble. Do you know why we came to Valin Na Island? We didn't come to find General Garza, but to kill you! You idiot!"
"What did you say?" James said coldly: "Who gave the order?"
Barney sneered and said: "Who else could it be, that bastard called Qiaoqi or Church!"
Hearing this name, James Munroe's face immediately turned ferocious: "How do you know this name?"
Christmas chimed in: "Are your ears not working? Didn't I tell you? We were hired by him to kill you! But we don't intend to be the ones to poke the hornet's nest!"
Hearing Christmas's words, James's face turned uncertain.
If Church had sent people to kill him, it meant the factional infighting had reached a very intense level.
Then staying on Valin Na Island now was definitely not a good idea.
Because even if this group of people refused to kill him, Church would send another group.
Being colleagues working in the same system, James knew how ruthless that bastard Church was.
If he wanted to survive, he had to strike first.
Thinking of this, James looked at Garza and said: "What if I don't leave?"
Garza sneered and said: "I will use my status as a general to expel you! Whether you are a living person or a corpse!"
"Fine, let's do it that way!" James nodded and said: "Announce to the outside world that you have expelled me from Valin Na Island!"
This actually left General Garza confused; after being stunned for a moment, he said: "Then take the money and get out quickly. I will issue this statement!"
James had originally wanted to kill Garza and then maximize his own interests.
But the Expendables surrounding Garza looked like a bunch of thorny guys.
Plus, problems were already starting to appear within the CIA, and he didn't have that much time to dawdle here, so he picked up the money bags and turned to leave with his men.
Garza still had an expression of disbelief on his face, and Barney said indifferently: "Tsk tsk, to just give up everything he worked so hard to build, that really is cutting off one's arm to survive!"
Christmas smiled and said: "That's fine, our mission is accomplished!"
Their main purpose for coming this time was to have Garza expel James, and now that the goal was reached, their mission was complete.
Barney glanced at him and said: "Not yet! We have to withstand the counterattack from that bastard Church!"
……
Three days later, Church discovered that his intelligence network on Valin Na Island had all disappeared.
He immediately felt a sense of foreboding.
Although he had heard a few days ago that the Expendables had entered the island and had a fierce fight with Garza's men.
But what followed was completely out of his control; honestly, for someone like Church who had a strong desire for control, this was a very uncomfortable thing.
"Back to Langley!" Church instructed his subordinates, preparing to return to headquarters first before deciding what to do.
The subordinates quickly prepared a helicopter, ready to leave the stronghold in Mexico.
But just as the helicopter's rotor blades started, a sharp whistle suddenly came from afar.
Then Church saw an RPG accurately slam into the aircraft.
The helicopter was blown into pieces on the spot, and the high-speed rotating helicopter propeller almost sliced off Church's head.
Then, amidst a shrill cry of "Enemy attack!", gunfire rang out as densely as popping beans.
"Damn it, what the hell is going on!" Church said frantically.
But at this moment, no one answered his question; everyone was dealing with the crazily attacking assailants.
Church was also forced to fight back.
Although this battle lasted for a very short time, Church's subordinates suffered heavy casualties.
Moreover, even the people from his own CIA couldn't figure out the source of this attack; it was as if it had appeared out of thin air.
This made Church extremely distressed.
He could only make a phone call to ask his superiors for reinforcements.
When he learned the real reason he was attacked, Church was almost driven mad. According to intelligence from the CIA side, the attackers were precisely another faction within the CIA.
This left Church in disbelief; he had only intended to make a move against this faction, never expecting the other side to strike first.
He thought it over and over, and there was only one possibility for the leak!
"Those damned mercenaries!" Church cursed through gritted teeth.
……
At this time in San Francisco, Silva was reporting to Chen Jiajun.
"The CIA is already fighting directly within its own ranks!" Silva smiled with a sinister look: "I heard news from the Information Officer in Mexico that they almost beat each other's brains out!"
"Fight, let them fight to their hearts' content!" Chen Jiajun was overjoyed: "It would be best if both sides were crippled!"
Silva shook his head and said: "That's probably impossible. After all, they just belong to different factions. Don't look at how fiercely they are fighting; I expect someone will come out to mediate later!"
Chen Jiajun sneered and said, "Then before both sides mediate, let's push things to the point of no return!"
Silva became interested at once: "How do you plan to do that?"
"The water is already muddy, I don't mind making it even muddier." Chen Jiajun sneered and said: "Send a Young Demon Squad over, and help whichever side is weaker! They must be made to fight even more intensely!"
Silva nodded: "Understood, Boss! You really are a villain!"
Chen Jiajun said with a smile: "Anyway, the CIA's scandals aren't limited to just this one, so we might as well make it even livelier!"
……
Church had never realized that the roads in Mexico were so difficult to travel.
Nor had he realized how troublesome it would be if the opponents were his own colleagues.
"Hold on, we've reached Juarez; once we cross the border, we can enter New Mexico," Church kept encouraging his subordinates.
Over the past few days, his subordinates had suffered heavy casualties, and all their calls for help had been intercepted.
Someone had to keep watch every single moment, otherwise, what awaited them were black-market bullets fired from the shadows.
This situation had persisted for three days, and the other side clearly intended to put him to death! His subordinates nodded with grim expressions, especially a CIA agent with a scar on his face who said ferociously: "Boss, after we get back, I'm definitely going to squeeze the balls off those people!"
"Let's get back first before talking about that!" Church sighed and said.
Just as the few were speaking, a violent explosion suddenly detonated directly against the side of the car.
The powerful shockwave blew the vehicle over onto its side.
Fortunately, Church's rank was high enough that his vehicle was also specially bulletproof.
Although it had flipped over, the external armor had not been penetrated.
It was just that the condition of the people inside the car was now extremely poor.
They were all dizzy and nauseous, and one subordinate had even been knocked unconscious by the impact.
Church was no exception, but he quickly regained his senses and saw a group of fully armed guys rapidly approaching them.
"Fight back!" Church dared not hesitate and immediately ordered his subordinates to crawl up and fight back.
However, Church and his party were surrounded inside the car, and the other side was in no hurry to kill them, merely pouring bullets continuously onto their vehicle.
Although the vehicle was specially bulletproof, it still had durability.
Once the bulletproof car was shot through, they would be nothing but lambs waiting to be slaughtered.
Church suddenly felt a bit desperate, thinking that he and his subordinates would surely die here.
But just at this moment, a violent gunshot rang out.
Then, the assassin hiding behind cover was shot directly in the head.
The manic gunfire did not stop but continued to pick off the assassins chasing Church.
Church immediately judged that the other side was using an AWP.
"A sniper? Whose people are they!" Church's mind was full of questions at this moment.
However, he did not dare to poke his head out to check, for fear that he would also become a target.
After waiting for a moment, Church still had his subordinates throw out two smoke grenades as cover, and then they climbed out of the overturned car.
After observing the surroundings and confirming that the sniper had left, he finally let out a long sigh of relief.
Church's subordinate said with a look of pleasant surprise: "Boss, did you contact headquarters?"
"No! I don't know the other party's identity!" Church shook his head and said: "But they don't seem to have any malice toward us!"
"Ha, I think so too!" The subordinate revealed a smile of having survived a disaster.
Church and his party did not dare to delay; after switching to another vehicle, they continued forward.
Once they crossed the border line, the pursuit that had been like maggots on a tarsal bone finally stopped.
And Church also contacted Leland, taking a professional aircraft back to Washington.
There, even more sinister struggles were waiting for him! (End of chapter)
