Chapter 116: A Wildly Off-Track Rumor
"Alright, hurry up and eat."
Looking at Sandy, who was still a bit down and blaming herself, Chen Mo simply pulled her to the table and pressed her into a chair.
"Better to rip the bandage off — telling him directly is better than hiding it from him."
"I understand, I just feel a bit guilty. It's all your fault, you big scumbag, you just had to come mess with me!"
As soon as Fang Zhixin left, Sandy started blaming Chen Mo.
"Fine, blame me, alright? Blame me for being handsome and capable!"
Chen Mo didn't argue back, just coaxing Sandy into eating like this.
After dinner, Chen Mo held Sandy as they nestled on the sofa watching TV.
Chen Mo casually asked, "When are you moving to my place?"
"Not going. I'm not moving to your place," Sandy refused.
Chen Mo turned to look at Sandy: "What do you mean?"
"Nothing. I'm not your girlfriend, so I'm not going to live at your place."
Hearing this, Chen Mo thought — hm? Was she asking for a proper title?
"Aren't you my girlfriend right now? Are you still looking for another boyfriend?"
Sandy turned her head, leaving Chen Mo with the back of her head: "Those two at your house are your girlfriends, I'm not."
Even though she had already accepted an intimate relationship with Chen Mo, she still couldn't accept sharing a boyfriend with two other women.
"Then what's your relationship with me?"
"Just ordinary friends?"
Now whenever Chen Mo heard "ordinary friends" he got mad, directly pinning Sandy across his lap and giving her a hard slap.
"Looks like the lesson I gave you during the day wasn't enough — you still dare to say ordinary friends!"
"Are they still ordinary friends or not?"
Sandy still refused to yield: "Just ordinary friends."
Chen Mo saw she still had a stiff mouth, so he gave Sandy another round of harsh interrogation right on the sofa.
One hour later......
"If you want to find me, you can come to my place. Either way, I'm not living at your house." This was Sandy's last stand.
Chen Mo also hadn't expected that after enduring three rounds of harsh interrogation in a single day, Sandy still refused to live at his place.
Forget it — if she didn't want to go, then so be it. Sandy wouldn't be the first woman he kept on the side anyway.
Besides, there weren't that many rooms at home. If she didn't want to live there, someone else would later.
Early the next morning, Chen Mo was kicked out the door by Sandy, thoroughly putting an end to his plans for morning exercises.
Yesterday had already been exhausting enough — there was no way she could handle any more.
Chen Mo could only head to the bar full of regret.
Arriving at the bar, Chen Mo called over Gao Jin.
"Ah Jin, any movement over in Jianshazui?"
Gan Di and Guohua were already fighting, and Chen Mo was curious what methods Ni Yongxiao would use to deal with it.
"According to the intel sent back by our little brothers, Gan Di and Guohua fought several times last night. I heard the Jianshazui Police Station arrested quite a few people."
"What about Wen Cheng Hei Gui and Han Chen? Didn't they step in to stop it? And the Ni Family — didn't Ni Yongxiao step in either?"
"No. But there is some news from the Ni Family's side, just don't know if it's true or not."
"What news?"
"Last night Liu Yaozu's casino got raided by the police station. I heard among those arrested were Ni Family people. Our little brothers weren't paying much attention to Liu Yaozu's casino, so the intel isn't very certain."
This genuinely surprised Chen Mo a little.
He'd assumed that with Liu Yaozu gone, the casino wouldn't be able to stay open.
He'd told Huang Bingyao about Liu Yaozu's casino to make the West Kowloon Police Station shift some attention away, so they wouldn't keep linking Liu Yaozu's disappearance to him, and also to give the police an explanation — making it convenient for them to find a reason to file the case as unsolved. He hadn't expected that by sheer coincidence they'd actually caught Ni Family people.
After a bit of deduction, Chen Mo immediately guessed that the Ni Family had sent people to take over the casino, but they just had the bad luck of running into the police raiding the place and got arrested along with everyone else.
Chen Mo hadn't expected such an unexpected bonus — no wonder Ni Yongxiao still hadn't dealt with Gan Di and Guohua yet.
"Go check it out, see if the news is true or false."
"Okay."
"One more thing."
Chen Mo stopped Gao Jin, who was about to leave, and said: "Have people spread two rumors in Jianshazui — one, that Gan Di and Guohua went to war because Guohua had an affair with Gan Di's wife and cuckolded him;
the other, that a year ago Hei Gui pulled a black-on-black heist on a shipment of Gan Di's goods worth tens of millions."
"Mo Ge, are these rumors—?"
Gao Jin was a bit curious whether the information Chen Mo gave was true or false. If it was true, then Gan Di had it pretty rough!
"The information is all true. Just arrange people to do it, and be careful not to let anyone trace it back to us."
Once the two rumors spread through Jianshazui, Gan Di would fight Guohua to the bitter end for the sake of face, and might even make a move on Hei Gui, dragging Hei Gui into it too.
Right now Han Chen definitely wouldn't follow the Ni Family's every word, and with these three factions causing trouble, Wen Cheng would probably also start thinking about breaking away from the Ni Family.
The Ni Family, originally deeply rooted in Jianshazui, would soon fall apart into loose sand.
Chen Mo's plan was good, but things didn't develop the way he had predicted.
These kinds of rumors, sometimes once they started spreading, they became uncontrollable.
"Did you hear? Gan Di hit Guohua because Guohua cuckolded him."
"What happened? Tell me in detail."
"Aiya! It's just......"
"Did you hear? Gan Di and Guohua were actually a couple, but someone came between them — Guohua cuckolded Gan Di."
"Really? They were a couple? Who came between them?"
"Probably Hei Gui! I heard Hei Gui also hijacked a shipment of Gan Di's goods — probably just had it out for Gan Di."
"Did you hear? Hei Gui snatched a shipment of Gan Di's goods just to fight Gan Di over Guohua."
"Really? Then why is Gan Di beating up Guohua? Shouldn't he be going after Hei Gui?"
"Do you think it's possible that Guohua and Hei Gui teamed up to snatch it? Has Guohua fallen for someone else?"
One day later, by the time the news reached the ears of Gan Di, Guohua, and Hei Gui, it had nothing to do with the message Chen Mo had originally intended to spread.
"Brother Gan Di, everyone out there is saying that you and Guohua are a gay couple, that Hei Gui came between you as the third party and got together with Guohua, and that Guohua and Hei Gui teamed up to plan a double-cross to take you out — and that you wanted to hack Guohua to death because love turned to hatred."
Gan Di's underling nervously relayed the information he had gathered to Gan Di.
"Fuck his mother's bastard! Which punk is spreading this nonsense? Find him for me — when I find him, I'll beat him to death!"
Gan Di was so furious he smashed his own office to pieces.
At the same time, Guohua and Hei Gui also received the news.
Guohua was dumbfounded — since when was he gay? And a couple with Gan Di?
Hei Gui was dumbfounded too — all he did was hijack a few million dollars' worth of Gan Di's goods. How did he become the third wheel — and the third wheel in Gan Di and Guohua's relationship at that?
When the news made its way back to Chen Mo, he was even more dumbfounded — what did any of this have to do with anything?
"A-Jin, tell me — what exactly was the message you had people spread?"
Gao Jin's head was now full of question marks too.
"Mo Ge, I really did have the boys spread the news exactly as you said. As for why it turned out like this, I have no idea either!"
