Chapter 155: Chen Yao's Whereabouts
In the afternoon, Jingkun indeed called, ordering three hundred karaoke machines in the name of Great Prosperity.
"Mo, if you hadn't reminded me, I wouldn't have noticed. The Triad Society actually has so many Jiang Tiansheng people."
"Jingkun, did you find something suspicious?" Chen Mo asked curiously.
"Hmm, that damned Jiang Tiansheng not only lost a huge sum for the Triad Society, but lately has been constantly sending people to covertly transfer the Society's assets. If I hadn't sent someone to investigate the Society's holdings today, we wouldn't have discovered it yet."
"If this gets exposed during the year‑end profit sharing, the blame will fall on me."
Jingkun grew more angry as he spoke, while Chen Mo just pursed his lips on the phone.
"Why wait for the year‑end profit sharing? Jiang Tiansheng might eliminate you in a few months."
"I bet all the losses will be pinned on you then. You, Dragon Head, are just a scapegoat for settling accounts."
After hanging up Jingkun, Chen Mo informed Shen Guodong of the total number of machines ordered by the big boss, and asked him to arrange procurement from the Yamada Group.
Meanwhile, the new factory in Tunmen was still working overtime to commission the machines.
Because of Chen Mo's proposed 007 work system, the technicians from Yinghuaguo had been working overtime continuously.
Under Chen Mo's pressure and Jimi's bonus lure, the Yinghuaguo technicians became workhorses; despite their discontent, they toiled willingly, and the speed of equipment installation and commissioning doubled.
In at most another half month, the factory can begin experimental production.
During that half month, Chen Mo's several KTV businesses boomed, attracting many Triad Society members and some entertainment venue owners.
Many people tried to contact Chen Mo through Great Prosperity's big boss to purchase machines.
Some also attempted to bypass Chen Mo and directly contact people in Yinghuaguo to import karaoke machines, but to no avail.
For anyone wanting to buy machines, Chen Mo accepted all requests. For those big bosses who helped make connections, Chen Mo also gave a rebate so they would continue promoting the equipment.
As for those trying to import machines directly from Yinghuaguo, Chen Mo didn't care at all.
Putting aside whether they can obtain the equipment, even if they do, it's useless.
Without laser discs that record Gangdao songs, the equipment is just a display and can't attract many customers.
Chen Mo's business is thriving, while Jingkun is feeling the pinch.
His warehouses keep encountering problems, and the shipments were even discovered by the police, causing huge losses.
At the same time, several of the big shots attached to the main hall died in succession, some of whom had originally tried to join Chen Mo's side.
They either met accidents or were taken out by some hot‑headed newcomers eager to make a name.
But Chen Mo guessed it was all arranged by Jingkun.
The dead ones were, unsurprisingly, Jiang Tiansheng's men.
That day, Shen Guodong came to Chen Mo's office, his face solemn, and said, "Mo Ge, there's movement on Chen Yao's side."
Chen Mo's expression brightened, and he asked, "Found Jiang Tiansheng?"
Shen Guodong denied, "No, it's Jingkun. Tonight Jingkun went to Chen Yao's house with men and took Chen Yao away. Our people have already followed."
Chen Mo's face returned to calm; he had thought they'd located Jiang Tiansheng's trail.
But since Jingkun took Chen Yao, Jiang Tiansheng will definitely act.
Chen Yao is Jiang Tiansheng's indispensable right‑hand man, knowing many of Jiang's affairs.
"Have someone keep an eye on Jingkun, see where he takes Chen Yao, what he's doing, and report any developments immediately."
Two hours later, more news arrived.
"Mo Ge, Jingkun took Chen Yao to the pier and arranged for Chen Yao to leave Gangdao."
Chen Mo frowned, unable to figure out what this maneuver meant.
Logically, if Jingkun knew Chen Yao was Jiang Tiansheng's man, he should have eliminated him outright; why just drive him out of Gangdao?
Unless Chen Yao paid a sufficient price, sacrificing his own life.
"Have someone watch that pier, see if Chen Yao sneaks back. If he does, keep following him to see who he contacts."
Chen Mo recalled that in the story, when Jingkun died, Chen Yao was also present.
If Chen Yao returns to Gangdao, his home is definitely unreachable. He will certainly contact Jiang Tiansheng.
As long as we follow Chen Yao, we must be able to locate Jiang Tiansheng.
That evening, Da B finished dinner with two underlings, and just returned to the gym when he saw Sha Qiang waiting at the entrance.
"B Ge!"
"What are you doing, Sha Qiang, hanging around here for nothing!"
Facing Jingkun's men, Da B wore a disdainful expression.
"Nothing, Jingkun has something he wants to discuss with you."
"What's there to discuss? I'm not on the same page as him."
"Is that so?" Sha Qiang pulled a child's backpack from the car behind him—it was Da B's son's—and said, "B Ge, look at this, doesn't it look familiar?"
Da B saw the backpack, his face changing, "Sha Qiang, don't go too far!"
"If I don't do this, how could I get B Ge's favor?" Sha Qiang opened the car door, made a beckoning gesture toward Da B, "Get in!"
Da B gave Sha Qiang a glance, sat in the car with a cold expression. As for the two underlings following him, perhaps they sensed something off, but they didn't intend to get in.
Sha Qiang drove, soon arriving at a wasteland in the New Territories.
The surroundings were desolate and empty, only a few cars parked on the open ground, their headlights adding a faint glow to the wasteland.
Dozens of Jingkun's underlings guarded the area; a few, using the car lights, kept digging pits on the open ground ahead.
The car stopped, Da B stepped out and immediately saw Jingkun sitting inside, eating a hamburger and drinking cola.
"Jingkun, why the big show?"
Da B's tone was casual, showing no trace of fear.
Perhaps he thought he was the big boss of Causeway Bay, and that Jingkun would at most give him a beating, never really harm him.
Jingkun got out of the car, walked to Da B, and held out the hamburger, "B Ge, you came in such a hurry, you must be starving. Want a hamburger?"
"Don't play tricks with me!" Da B swatted the hamburger out of Jingkun's hand, snapping, "Where are my kids?"
Jingkun pursed his lips, took a sip of Coke, "The kids were hungry, so I took them to McDonald's."
Da B didn't think Jingkun was just treating his own kids to a meal; he snapped, "Let's clear up whatever this is—don't mess with my family, that's too despicable!"
"Am I despicable? I don't think so."
"Jianghu rules say misfortune shouldn't extend to family—don't go too far!"
"Too far? Then I'll show you just how far I can go!"
Jingkun turned away and gestured at a car in the distance.
The car lights flashed on, and Da B's wife and two children were shoved out of the vehicle by someone.
Their hands were tied, but their mouths were not gagged.
Da B's wife and his son and daughter saw him and immediately began shouting for help.
"Husband!"
"Dad! Save me!"
