Chapter 304: Goodbye, Joyce
The representatives of several institutions also raised no objections.
Although they weren't as thorough as those few minority shareholders thought.
But before that, Lu Bin Sun had already had preliminary talks with the leaders behind them and confirmed their intentions.
Before arriving, they already knew what might happen today.
Whether the shares would be sold or not had long been decided by their leaders; they were here merely to go through the procedure.
The HSBC representative likewise cheerfully agreed to Chen Mo's request.
The price of three yuan and seven cents wasn't high, but befriending Chen Mo at that price wasn't a loss.
When the meeting ended, the HSBC representative, seizing the moment, handed Chen Mo a business card.
"Mr. Chen, He Wei from my family, here's my card.
The person I admire most in my life is someone like you—a young, accomplished talent. Your previous trades in U. S. stocks were simply the greatest operation I've ever seen in my life."
Chen Mo lowered his head, glanced at the card in his hand—He Wei, a client manager in HSBC's investment department.
"Manager He, you flatter me; HSBC is also top-notch in the banking industry!"
"Mr. Chen, you're too kind!"
After everyone left, Chen Mo first called Ou Yong En to notify the offer price, then called Chen Taotao.
At this point, the acquisition of Prosperous Real Estate was basically settled.
The remaining matters could be handled by Chen Taotao and Ou Yong En.
All Chen Mo had left to do was acquire the remaining shares held by Wang Ba Wan and Tang Zhudi.
However, this matter wasn't urgent for now.
The timing hasn't arrived.
"Lao Sun, has the opening date for the hotel been confirmed?"
Lu Bin Sun nodded: "It's set. The newly hired staff are undergoing emergency training; the hotel will open next week."
"Christmas is approaching, and after Christmas comes New Year's Day. The hotel will be especially busy these days.
Staff training must be tightened, lest chaos ensues once things get busy."
Lu Bin Sun solemnly replied: "Don't worry, the hotel's managers are experienced; nothing will go wrong."
"That's good. You go take care of things; I'll wander around the hotel myself."
This was Chen Mo's second visit to Jun Du Hotel.
The last time he came, there were gunshots and killings, leaving the place in total chaos.
Although he moved from the lower floor to the upper floor, he hadn't really paid attention to the hotel's layout and decor.
Now the hotel belonged to him, so of course he wanted to take a good look.
After sending Lu Bin Sun away, Chen Mo took the elevator up to the top floor himself.
The exhibition hall previously damaged by the doctor gang had been largely restored; the walls full of bullet holes had been repaired.
After inspecting the area, Chen Mo took the stairs down to the lower level.
The several floors beneath the exhibition hall were all premium suites.
Chen Mo glanced around; although they didn't match the presidential suite he stayed in while in Meiliguo, they were by no means inferior to the top suites of the other five-star hotels in Jianshazui.
Moreover, the hotel is relatively new, making it quite competitive in Jianshazui.
He inspected several rooms in succession; all were quite good.
Chen Mo was about to leave when, upon stepping out, he collided with a smaller figure.
"Ouch!" a familiar, delicate whine rang out.
Chen Mo looked down and saw, "Yo, Joyce."
Chen Mo reached out to steady the about-to-fall Joyce, asking with concern, "What happened? Are you okay?"
"Sorry, manager, I won't dare do it again next time!"
Joyce didn't lift her head; after regaining her balance she bowed, apologizing while slipping the microcomputer in her hand behind her.
Since the hotel hasn't opened yet, anyone appearing inside is basically hotel management, especially someone in leather shoes and dress pants—certainly a senior executive.
Playing with a microcomputer during work hours violates hotel policy; without even looking up, she knew she was in trouble.
Now she just hopes the leader in front of her will, seeing her sincere apology, deduct less money.
Chen Mo gave a slight smile, reached out to hook Joyce's chin, and lifted her head.
"Slacking off during work hours, you still want a next time?"
"Is that you?" Joyce was startled upon seeing Chen Mo.
The memory of that night resurfaced in her mind.
"How did you end up here?"
"Of course I'm here to find you!" Chen Mo pinned Joyce against the wall, "I remember leaving you a card last time; you didn't get in touch with me?"
Joyce's face flushed instantly, her voice tiny like a mosquito's hum: "That night... it was just an accident... I... I have a boyfriend."
"Is that so?" Chen Mo lifted Joyce's chin and leaned down to kiss her.
"Mmm"
Joyce tried to push Chen Mo away, but she was too weak to move him.
As Chen Mo's tongue pried open Joyce's jaw, the memory of that night warmed and became even clearer.
After the kiss ended, Joyce gulped in air.
"We can't be like this..."
"Can't what?" Chen Mo had already seen that her words were disingenuous.
It's really impossible like this; why are your legs squeezing so tightly?
Chen Mo grabbed Joyce and went straight into the room next door.
"Don't...... uh...... don't...... ah...... don't tear my clothes."
"Then take it off yourself."
An hour later, Joyce stared blankly at the ceiling.
Chen Mo stubbed out his cigarette and asked, "What are you thinking about?"
Joyce's eyes refocused, and she looked at Chen Mo with a complex expression.
"I won't break up with my boyfriend."
Chen Mo raised an eyebrow: "It's fine, I didn't ask you to break up."
"Besides, shouldn't you be thinking about how to explain this to your manager?"
"Ah!" Joyce heard that, her face showed shock, and she immediately started putting on her clothes.
At the same time, she didn't forget to blame Chen Mo.
"Oh no, oh no, we're doing this here—if someone finds out, what do we do?"
"I'll lose my job!"
"It's all your fault!"
"What's there to fear!" Chen Mo grabbed Joyce, "I'm actually your boss. I'll just let your manager know later."
"Huh?" Joyce froze, "You're the boss? When did you become our boss?"
As an ordinary server, she really didn't know about this change of boss.
"Just this month, your hotel was recently bought by me."
Joyce let out a sigh of relief, patted her barely-there chest: "Great, great, my job is saved!"
Chen Mo was speechless.
"Is that all you aim for? Just keeping your job?"
"You make me feel like I've lost face!"
"I'm the boss, after all—don't you have any requests?"
"Huh? What requests?" Joyce hadn't reacted yet, looking adorably clueless.
Chen Mo let out a light sigh: "Look at you, so clueless—I'll have your manager promote you to shift leader first; I'm afraid you couldn't handle anything else."
Promoting a minor shift leader is nothing to Chen Mo.
As long as he's willing, letting Joyce be the hotel's general manager is fine.
However, given Joyce's ability, better forget it.
