Chapter 28: Lord of War Yuri! Private Maid Gangsheng!

~6 min read 1,011 words

Ni Yongyao wanted a secret squad.

For confidentiality reasons, he couldn't buy from Hong Kong arms dealers.

Ni Yongyao checked the time; it was ten o'clock at night.

It was just morning in New York.

So he dialed a number. ===== CHAPTER 53 =====

This was Michael Corleone’s private number; those who possessed it could be counted on one hand, and every one of them was an honored guest of the Corleone family.

Beep, beep, beep.

The call connected quickly.

"Ni, I've been waiting for your call for a long time. You finally called.

How is it, are you getting used to life in Hong Kong?"

A slightly hoarse man's voice came through the speaker.

Just by the sound of his voice, one could imagine that the person on the other end was a mature and steady man.

"Everything is fine, it's just that the neighbors around here aren't very polite."

Ni Yongyao laughed.

The two were friends across generations; Michael Corleone didn't act arrogant because of his status, but spoke to Ni Yongyao as an equal.

After some pleasantries, Michael Corleone said, "I guess you must have run into trouble, otherwise, with your personality, you definitely wouldn't have made this call."

"There is indeed a bit of trouble. I need a batch of weapons and equipment. Do you have any channels?"

Ni Yongyao said directly.

"Weapons and equipment? Handguns? Or submachine guns?"

Michael Corleone asked.

The Corleone family dominated New York, and although they had completed their family transformation and gone legitimate,

they still maintained the necessary force.

Michael Corleone thought Ni Yongyao needed light weapons and planned to ship a batch directly from the family warehouse.

"No, I need a full set of squad-level firepower, along with matching vehicles and communication equipment."

Ni Yongyao said calmly.

These words made Michael Corleone silent for a full half-minute.

"Ni, are you planning to attack the Viceroy's mansion? Your requirements can only be met by professional arms dealers."

Michael Corleone said.

"That's why I'm calling you."

Ni Yongyao said.

Ni Yongyao believed that with Michael Corleone’s connections, he could help him contact a professional arms dealer.

"Alright, I will solve this matter for you."

Michael Corleone pondered for a moment and said.

"Consider it a favor I owe you."

Ni Yongyao said.

"Ni, we are friends. You helped me so much back then; now I'm just solving a small problem for you, it's not a favor."

Michael Corleone said with a hint of displeasure in his tone.

"Then thank you very much."

Ni Yongyao didn't say anything more.

He ended the call.

Five minutes later.

"Beep, beep, beep!"

Ni Yongyao’s mobile phone rang; it was an unfamiliar foreign number.

"I am Ni Yongyao, who is this?"

Ni Yongyao answered the call and asked.

"Mr. Ni, my name is Yuri (from the movie 'Lord of War'). Lord Corleone just contacted me and said you need a batch of arms?"

A middle-aged man’s voice sounded.

"That's right, can you provide squad-level firepower and equipment?"

Hearing the unfamiliar name Yuri, Ni Yongyao didn't immediately recall who it was, nor did he take it to heart.

"Of course, I am a professional.

I can get whatever you want, but shipping it to Hong Kong carries high risks, so the price will be a bit higher."

Yuri said.

"Price is not an issue.

Also, this is just the first batch. If this transaction goes smoothly, there will be a second and third batch later."

Ni Yongyao said.

Hearing it was a big deal, Yuri became interested and said hurriedly, "It's not convenient to talk on the phone. I'll fly to Hong Kong immediately to meet with Mr. Ni in person."

"That's fine, I'll send someone to pick you up at the airport."

Ni Yongyao said, hanging up the phone.

Yuri’s enthusiasm was unexpected for Ni Yongyao.

But since he was introduced by Michael Corleone, he must be reliable.

Putting the arms issue aside for the moment, Ni Yongyao tossed his phone to Kuriyama Chiaki and walked toward the Kunji food stall.

It was past ten at night, the perfect time for a late-night snack.

Kunji food stall.

"Mr. Ni, what would you like to eat?"

The stall owner, seeing Ni Yongyao arrive, ran over immediately to ask.

"The usual."

Ni Yongyao found a seat and sat down.

Soon, a few items were served.

"Mr. Ni, take your time."

The owner said.

Ni Yongyao nodded and was about to pick up his chopsticks.

Just then, a woman arrived at the stall, staring straight at the food in front of Ni Yongyao, swallowing her saliva.

She then looked at the stall owner and asked in a low voice, "Boss, can I... get a bowl of noodles on credit? I'm penniless right now, but I'll definitely pay you back once I earn some money."

"Miss, you snuck in from the mainland, didn't you?"

Ni Yongyao spoke up suddenly.

"Ah?"

The woman was startled and stammered, "I, I don't know what you're talking about."

Ni Yongyao smiled, didn't press further, and called out to the owner, "Give her a bowl of noodles."

"Alright, Mr. Ni."

The owner immediately got to work.

Seeing this, the woman gave up the idea of running away and found a seat, sitting down cautiously.

"What's your name?" Ni Yongyao asked.

"Gang, Gangsheng (from the movie 'Righting Wrongs')."

The woman replied timidly.

Hearing this name, Ni Yongyao confirmed he hadn't mistaken her.

The woman before him was indeed the goddess of two generations.

Gangsheng was very young, looking less than twenty, wearing braids and a floral shirt, completely different from the trendy women of Hong Kong.

However, although her clothing was rustic, her face was extremely delicate, and those long legs were especially alluring.

"What are you doing in Hong Kong?"

Ni Yongyao asked.

"Looking for relatives, I'm here to find my aunt."

Gangsheng replied obediently.

"You're an illegal immigrant in Hong Kong. If you run into the police, they'll definitely deport you back to the mainland."

"Ah? Then what should I do?" ===== CHAPTER 54 =====
