Chapter 29: 29 Council Election Begins, First Glimpse of Police Star Qiu Gangao

A new day, clouds over Hong Kong, bringing a bit of coolness to late autumn.

10:00 AM.

Causeway Bay,

At this moment, inside Director Director Director Guan Zu Zu's boxing gym, the atmosphere was extremely lively. On the ring, Gao Jin and Xiao Fu were trading blows, while under the ring, lackeys were cheering one after another.

"Brother Fu, go for it!"

"Brother Jin, charge, charge, charge!"

Gao Jin watched Xiao Fu's hands, feet, and shoulders vigilantly. In this battle, he had clearly fallen into a disadvantage. This Xiao Fu looked honest, but his strength was very strong.

This also made Gao Jin very happy. He was currently in a period of rapid growth, and sparring with Xiao Fu made his strength grow rapidly.

He was confident that, relying on his youth, one day he would surpass Xiao Fu, and when that time came, he would beat all those War Wolves to the ground.

At this time,

"Brother Zu, Brother Zu!"

"Hahaha~~~"

"Good news is here!"

Ah Boy rushed from the road into the boxing gym, shouting loudly.

Gao Jin and Xiao Fu stopped their confrontation and turned to look over, while other lackeys stopped their cheering.

What good news?

However, Ah Boy ignored them completely and rushed into Director Director Director Guan Zu Zu's office.

At this time, Director Director Director Guan Zu Zu was drinking tea in the office, and Ah Wah was bitterly organizing the film company's affairs.

The film company had officially changed owners and became Director Director Director Guan Zu Zu's company. The location had also moved to Causeway Bay, with Ah Wah and Gao Jin responsible for management.

Director Director Director Guan Zu Zu deeply felt that there were too few talents. Look at Ah Wah, he had worked so hard he had lost weight!

Ah Wah: "............"

Treating me like an ox or horse every day, how could I not lose weight?

At this time, Ah Boy rushed in.

"Brother Zu, good news!"

"The Chief Secretary has issued a notice; the District Council election has begun!"

"Bang~~~"

Director Director Director Guan Zu Zu knocked over his teacup and stood up, his face full of joy.

Ah Wah also suddenly raised his head, his face full of excitement.

"Really?"

"Really, this is the notice."

Ah Boy took out a government official letter and handed it to Director Director Director Guan Zu Zu.

The letter was signed by the—Council Election Affairs Office, which was the department responsible for council elections, directly under the Chief Secretary's office.

The "Direct Election Council" election happened once every three years, and this year just happened to be the change of term. Generally, elections were in autumn or winter. Director Director Director Guan Zu Zu naturally wouldn't miss such an opportunity; he had let his subordinates keep an eye on it last month.

After waiting for a month, Director Director Director Guan Zu Zu finally waited for this good news.

"Ah Wah..."

"Brother Zu!" Ah Wah was also very excited at this time. The council election was one of the main future paths for Director Director Director Guan Zu Zu and them; now the moment of battle had finally arrived.

"Is there any progress at the Election Affairs Office?" Director Director Director Guan Zu Zu had let Ah Wah start collecting intelligence and bribing officials half a year in advance.

Because Director Director Director Guan Zu Zu was a gangster, wanting to obtain candidate qualifications might lead to being blocked. So half a year ago, Director Director Director Guan Zu Zu started planning this matter.

Ah Wah nodded: "Brother Zu, don't worry, everything is handled. I didn't think about saving money at all; basically, every leader was sent money. These foreigners are greedy to death now; they take money very readily."

Director Director Director Guan Zu Zu: "Is there any problem with the ICAC?"

Although the ICAC wouldn't easily investigate foreigners, they would cause trouble.

Ah Wah: "Brother Zu, don't worry, I've been very careful. I used lottery tickets to send them; it's guaranteed safe. Moreover, we started half a year in advance; at that time, the ICAC certainly wouldn't be watching the Election Affairs Office."

Director Director Director Guan Zu Zu nodded.

The triennial council election was a major event for the transfer of power in Hong Kong, and all parties were watching. If they had only started bribing the Election Affairs Office now, they would definitely be watched by the ICAC.

Fortunately, he had prepared early and started half a year in advance.

"Good, next we wait for the confirmation of the candidate list!"

"As long as the qualification comes out, I am confident that I will definitely succeed in the election!"

The specific process of the council election is: candidate nomination (obtaining qualification) — campaign activities (promoting one's political platform, participating in public debates, visiting voters, etc.) — voting and counting on election day — the person with the most votes is elected as a councilor and takes the oath of office.

According to past practice, the Wan Chai District has a total of 11 communities (divided into Jardine's Lookout, Tai Hang, Causeway Bay, Loke Yew, Happy Valley, Canal Road, Oi Kwan, Hennessy, Leighton Hill, Bowrington, and Stubbs Road), with a total of 11 directly elected councilors.

Each small district will elect one "directly elected councilor" (if there is no opponent, they are elected directly).

That is to say, after Director Director Director Guan Zu Zu obtains the qualification, he only needs to defeat the other opponents in Causeway Bay.

After the election is successful, he can become a "District Councilor."

As for whether the election can be successful?

Do you understand the gold content of the 50% support rate from Causeway Bay citizens!

At this time, the terror of the "support rate" rewarded by the system was reflected; it had the flavor of being certified once and for all.

……

"Knock knock knock~~~"

"Brother Zu!"

At this time, Wu Ying knocked on the door.

"Come in."

Soon, Wu Ying pushed the door and entered, followed by Chen Yongren, Gao Qiu, and two lackeys, escorting two people inside.

Director Director Director Guan Zu Zu, Ah Wah, and Ah Boy looked at the two people who were tied up; they were bruised and swollen, clearly having been beaten.

"Hmm?"

Director Director Director Guan Zu Zu looked at one of them.

An acquaintance!

It's Daniel!

Director Director Director Guan Zu Zu looked at Wu Ying: "Tell me, what's going on..."

Wu Ying reported: "Brother Zu, these two people are the ones we found following the trail who were selling powder in our Causeway Bay. They belong to the same organization as the drug lord you asked us to find last time... This time they were caught by us acting suspiciously, and we pulled 4 bags of white powder from their bags."

Chen Yongren placed the two canvas shoulder bags in his hands on the table.

He opened them; each bag had 2 bags of white powder.

Director Director Director Guan Zu Zu looked at Wu Ying in surprise.

Not bad!

Found out so quickly.

Director Director Director Guan Zu Zu could basically be sure that this Daniel should be the undercover Guan Li in "Protégé."

This is good deeds delivered to the door.

Director Director Director Guan Zu Zu wouldn't miss it.

Director Director Director Guan Zu Zu thought for a moment, picked up the phone, and waved for everyone to leave.

"You guys go out first..."

Everyone went out one after another, only Ah Wah remained.

Director Director Director Guan Zu Zu dialed Situ Jie's number.

"Mr. Guan, good morning..."

"Superintendent Situ, good morning..."

After the two exchanged pleasantries, Director Director Director Guan Zu Zu brought up the main business: "I caught two drug dealers here, I don't know if you are interested..."

He explained the matter once.

Upon hearing this, Situ Jie became interested: "Thank you, Mr. Guan, I will send someone over immediately!"

Director Director Director Guan Zu Zu: "Good, I'll wait for you."

……

The Police Headquarters is located on Arsenal Street in Wan Chai, 1.3 kilometers away from Director Director Director Guan Zu Zu's place, a few minutes' journey.

10 minutes later, the police arrived at the boxing gym.

"Clang~~~~"

The door was pushed open.

The wind from outside blew in.

Following them in were four people.

Director Director Director Guan Zu Zu looked over; they were all wearing formal police uniforms, and the leader was very familiar.

Chef God Xie...

If Director Director Director Guan Zu Zu guessed correctly, it should be Qiu Gangao.

And the police officers behind Qiu Gangao, Director Director Director Guan Zu Zu was also very familiar with; they were Young Master, Baozhu, and others from "Raging Fire."

Director Director Director Guan Zu Zu was surprised; he didn't expect it to be Qiu Gangao!

Qiu Gangao scanned the boxing gym, and after seeing Director Director Director Guan Zu Zu, he walked over and smiled: "Mr. Guan, I am O-Unit Inspector Qiu Gangao. This time I am here to take people away under the orders of Superintendent Situ Jie..."

Qiu Gangao was very handsome, only a little bit worse than Director Director Director Guan Zu Zu.

Director Director Director Guan Zu Zu smiled and reached out: "Inspector Qiu, long admired, long admired. I heard you are the rising star of the police force. Seeing you today, your temperament is indeed extraordinary!"
