Chapter 464: Recording Exposed, All of Hong Kong is Boiling Over

Police Headquarters.

Narcotics Bureau.

After receiving the call from Director Director Director Director Director Director Guan Zu, Ji Shaoqun packed his things in his office, preparing to leave.

Over the past few days, since he arrested Tai Lo B, he clearly felt that some officers in the department looked at him with disdain, and his superiors had also become dissatisfied with him, feeling he had betrayed their camp.

The most cold-hearted among them were Ma Ma Haotian and Zhang Zhang Zhang Zhang Zhang Ziwei.

Traitors are always detestable.

Especially in a department like the police force that requires one to "go through fire and water."

However, Ji Shaoqun did not explain.

He arrived at his department head's office: "Sir Zhang, I would like to request leave."

Zhang Zhang Wenyao looked cold: "What leave? What is the reason? Have you finished the cases I assigned you? Do you think that just because you cracked one case, you can act arrogant in the department? Do you not take me, your superior, seriously?"

Ji Shaoqun: "............"

"Sorry..."

"What's the use of an apology? Damn it! Two months ago you were still in the East Kowloon Regional Crime Unit; it was I who valued you and brought you up. Is this how you repay me now? You hid the case from me? And you colluded with people from the Operations Department!"

Zhang Zhang Wenyao cursed while slamming the table, tugging at his tie.

It was normal for him to have a short temper.

His relationship with Director Director Director Director Director Director Guan Zu was actually quite good; it started because of money, but after spending time together, he found Director Director Director Director Director Director Guan Zu to be generous and loyal, and now that Director Director Director Director Director Director Guan Zu's power was growing stronger, being able to befriend such a person from the very beginning was a blessing for him, Zhang Zhang Wenyao.

As a result, Ji Shaoqun went and offended Director Director Director Director Director Director Guan Zu.

Damn it, he dragged him into the pit too.

Zhang Zhang Wenyao: "Get out! I'll give you one month to crack those cases, otherwise don't blame me for being impolite."

Ji Shaoqun gave a bitter smile: "Yes."

He left the Narcotics Bureau and then went to the Operations Department, where he found Superintendent Liu.

"Superintendent Liu..."

He knocked on the door, walked into Superintendent Liu's office, and closed the door.

Superintendent Liu saw Ji Shaoqun and smiled: "Ah Qun, you're here... What's wrong? What's the matter?"

Ji Shaoqun looked cold: "This time, I have offended the entire Narcotics Bureau. I probably won't be able to continue working there in the future... Superintendent Liu, the matter you mentioned last time, can you help me settle it now?"

Superintendent Liu chuckled: "What matter are you talking about?"

Ji Shaoqun: "You said you would help me settle that high-interest loan."

Superintendent Liu curled his lips: "Why don't you just take people and arrest that loan shark gang directly? How simple is that."

Ji Shaoqun's expression changed: "What do you mean... you don't want to help me?"

Superintendent Liu immediately turned cold: "Isn't the method I suggested a method? As long as you arrest all those people, won't your debt be wiped clean?"

Besides, that was over 10 million!

Who would be stupid enough to just give that away?

Bang~~~

Ji Shaoqun slammed the table in anger, leaning over to glare at Superintendent Liu: "If it were that simple, would I need you? Liu, don't tell me you were lying to me from the start? If word gets out that I borrowed from loan sharks, can I still be a policeman?"

Superintendent Liu: "How did I lie to you? I said I would 'help you settle it.' You arrest them, and the loan is automatically cleared. As for whether you remain a policeman, it doesn't matter. When the time comes, I will naturally give you tasks and give you money..."

And he left out the rest: Just be a good dog for me!

Ji Shaoqun was so angry he laughed: "Aren't you afraid I'll leak this?"

Superintendent Liu: "Do you have evidence? Besides, the PTU witness is my man, and the judge is our man. You, a person who owes over 10 million in high-interest loans—do you think the judge will believe you or me?... Oh, right, this line was yours; now I'm giving it back to you."

Ji Shaoqun gritted his teeth: "You are shameless!"

Superintendent Liu: "Hey, don't say that... Besides, you've offended Director Director Director Director Director Director Guan Zu; you can only rely on me, otherwise you're dead... Don't worry, you're my man, how could I not look after you?"

"You will regret this!"

Ji Shaoqun slammed the door and left.

Superintendent Liu looked on with contempt. Ji Shaoqun had no way out now and could only rely on him, so Ji Shaoqun could not escape his grasp.

Ji Shaoqun stepped outside and sneered.

You dead bastard Liu!

It's a good thing I saw long ago that a piece of trash like you couldn't be trusted and defected to Mr. Director Director Director Director Director Director Guan in advance.

Next, let's see who laughs last!

He quickly left the Police Headquarters and went to find a place... Causeway Bay, to hide for now.

Meanwhile,

At ATV, Man Wai-sum had already obtained the recording and the appraisal report.

"Pure stuff, about 1 kilogram, enough to put that so-called B in jail for over a decade."

"Just set your mind at ease, I can protect you."

"Good, then I'll give you the bottom line: this operation is indeed to deal with Director Director Director Director Director Director Guan Zu... our Deputy Commissioner of the Operations Department, Ryan... I guarantee you'll be promoted to Superintendent in three months!"

"We've already put Tai Lo B's fingerprints on it, and when the time comes, we'll just plant this bag of powder in Tai Lo B's nightclub... He absolutely won't be able to escape..."

Even though Man Wai-sum was mentally prepared, she still felt extremely shocked when she heard this recording.

The police were actually openly framing someone; this is fucking insane!

She quickly found the News Director.

News Director: "............"

I was the one who came first.

Soon, the News Department held a meeting.

The News Director methodically and rapidly deployed the work.

"Xiao Li, Xiao Zhang, you two are responsible for investigating the background information. Dig out detailed files on Superintendent Liu, Ji Shaoqun, and Deputy Commissioner Ryan of the Operations Department, including their resumes, major cases they've participated in, and their intricate power structures and interpersonal networks within the police force. Do not let any clue related to this framing incident slip by. Move fast!"

"Xiao Wang, go find the most professional audio appraisal agency to conduct a second verification of this recording. You must find the one with the best reputation and authority in the industry. Cost is not an issue; the key is to ensure the credibility of the appraisal report. This is the core evidence of our report."

"Also, we need to invite a senior legal consultant. This matter involves too many legal risks; we must have professionals oversee it."

With the Director's order, the News Department instantly became a hive of activity.

A storm concerning the police system was quietly approaching.

Soon, it was evening.

Night fell.

Lights lit up in thousands of households across Hong Kong, the aroma of food drifted from kitchens, and most televisions in living rooms were tuned to the ATV channel.

At 19:00, ATV News started on time, and it began with explosive news.

Anchor Man Wai-sum looked solemn:

"Dear viewers, this morning, the highly anticipated case involving Tai Lo B, Chan Ho Nam, and Tai Tin Cheung Cheung Cheung Cheung Cheung Yee for suspected drug trafficking had its first court verdict..."

"And Mr. Director Director Director Director Director Director Guan Zu, after the trial, upheld justice by putting righteousness above family, strongly supporting the court's verdict."

"Most citizens in Hong Kong applauded this, believing it to be a defense of the law."

"But!!"

Man Wai-sum's voice rose by three decibels:

"Just an hour ago, ATV received an exclusive news tip that is enough to shock the entire Hong Kong Island. This is a recording, and it will completely overturn our understanding of this case."

"Please listen to the content of the recording..."

The recording played,

Superintendent Liu's voice was clearly audible: "Pure stuff, about 1 kilogram... deal with Director Director Director Director Director Director Guan Zu............ we've already put Tai Lo B's fingerprints on it..." "First, we conducted an appraisal of the recording, and there are no traces of editing!"

"Secondly, according to the hints in the recording, we locked onto the target as Superintendent Liu, the supervisor of the Operations Department, and through a professional appraisal agency, we verified the voice and confirmed it is indeed the voice of this Superintendent Liu..."

"And the other voice is the other protagonist of this case: Senior Inspector Ji Shaoqun."

The camera turned to the appraisal report.

As this news broadcasted, across Hong Kong, in thousands of households, citizens one after another put down their bowls and chopsticks, staring at their television screens in shock.

Framing!

A naked, blatant frame-up!

And the recording also explicitly hinted at—targeting Director Director Director Director Director Director Guan Zu!!

Many citizens also felt deceived, and the fact that it involved their respected Director Director Director Director Director Director Guan Zu made them even more furious.

They frantically called their friends and family.

【No content skipped!】

"Hey, Ah You, hurry up and watch ATV News, big news! It's been reversed!"

"Hey, Ah Wah, ATV News, there's a recording, it's absolutely explosive!"

"Stop watching TVB, watch ATV!"

"Stop sleeping, wake up and get excited! There's big news, ATV News!"

At this moment, numerous citizens across Hong Kong were watching the news while dialing their phones to tell their friends and family.

Countless people opened their televisions and tuned to ATV.

Those who were originally watching TVB news also switched channels to ATV one after another.

"It's very obvious!"

Wen Wen Huixin said with righteous indignation:

"This is a meticulously planned conspiracy!"

"In order to achieve the goal of dealing with Councilor Director Director Director Director Director Director Guan Zu, police insiders did not hesitate to frame the innocent, using 1 kilogram of heroin to plant evidence on Tai Lo B and others."

"Here, I would like to ask the senior management of the police force: are you aware of such blatant framing? What role did the Deputy Commissioner and Head of Operations, Ryan, mentioned in the recording, play in this?"

Wen Wen Huixin concluded: "This incident is by no means just an ordinary criminal case; it concerns the rule of law and the social fairness and justice of Hong Kong Island."

"ATV will continue to investigate in depth to uncover the truth hidden behind this for everyone, and we also hope that the Hong Kong Island police force can quickly provide a reasonable explanation!"

At this moment,

A clubhouse in Central.

Number One Dai Weisi, Number Two Ryan, several other senior police officials, and Superintendent Liu, who was sitting at the end of the table, were all drinking.

"Cheers!"

"This time, we can consider it a heavy blow to this Director Director Director Director Director Director Guan Zu."

"That's right, even if Director Director Director Director Director Director Guan Zu speaks as sanctimoniously as he wants, the citizens will definitely doubt him."

"The higher-ups are very satisfied... Superintendent Liu, you did well; I will promote you in a couple of days!"

Upon hearing this, Superintendent Liu immediately fawned: "Thank you, Number One, thank you all leaders for your cultivation!"

"From now on, I will go through fire and water for you!"

After saying this, he downed a full glass of red wine in one gulp!

Just then...

"Ring ring ring~~~~"

A phone call came in. Number One's expression changed, and then his face grew increasingly gloomy.

The atmosphere in the entire private room changed instantly, and everyone looked at Number One.

"Number One, what happened?"

Number One did not answer immediately, but instead threw his phone onto the table hard and said through gritted teeth: "ATV has exposed the recording of the frame-up of Tai Lo B!"

He glared at Superintendent Liu: "You are just a stupid pig; you didn't even know your conversation with Ji Shaoqun was being recorded!"

Superintendent Liu was stunned: "That's impossible... how could there be a recording?"

Number One opened his eyes wide in anger, glaring at Superintendent Liu: "What do you mean impossible? ATV is reporting it; now all of Hong Kong knows we are playing dirty, and you have disgraced the police force!"

"And you!"

Number One glared at Ryan: "The recording mentioned that you arranged it, and the purpose was to frame Director Director Director Director Director Director Guan Zu... you had better handle this matter tonight, otherwise you are dead!"

Deputy Commissioner Ryan was shocked: "Ah?"

Number One Dai Weisi was so angry he stood up, kicked over the chair next to him, and stormed out of the private room.

Leaving the others in the room stunned and speechless.

After the group came to their senses, they all made phone calls to understand the situation.

After understanding the situation,

Ryan looked gloomy.

Superintendent Liu's face was even paler.

As for the other senior officials, they all hurried to run away, not wanting to be with these two big pieces of trouble.

After a long while, a burst of frantic, exasperated cursing from Ryan toward Superintendent Liu came from the private room: "You stupid pig, you couldn't even handle this, you've killed me!"

Bang bang bang~~~

A violent beating!

Government House.

Fat Peng was calculating how much of a negative impact this incident with Tai Lo B would bring to Director Director Director Director Director Director Guan Zu.

If Tai Lo B isn't convicted, the citizens will still believe in Director Director Director Director Director Director Guan Zu.

If Tai Lo B is convicted, and the citizens still believe in Director Director Director Director Director Director Guan Zu, wouldn't the conviction have been in vain?

He said to his secretary, Lianna, who was nearby: "The operation to smear Director Director Director Director Director Director Guan Zu must continue; take advantage of this sentencing to promote it heavily!"

Lianna: "Yes!!"

Just at this moment, Kane, looking grim, walked quickly into the study after knocking.

"Boss, something happened."

"What is it? Why so urgent?"

"ATV released a recording..." Kane explained in detail.

"What?!"

Fat Peng stood up abruptly, his eyes wide, his anger like a giant bear, extremely irritable!

"Fuck!"

"Fuckkk!"

"They are all pigs!!"

Fat Peng's angry roar tore through the night and echoed across the night sky.
