Chapter 77
Nine Dragons.
At the entrance of the Nine Dragons Walled City, Li Xin got out of the car and saw He Qiong waiting there.
Seeing He Qiong's panicked face, he hurried to comfort her: "Don't worry, I'll take you in to find someone; give me her photo, and I'll go find someone to settle this."
He Qiong quickly opened her satchel, took out the photo, and handed it to Li Xin.
He Yi pleaded urgently: "A Xin, you must find her! She's my younger sister; if anything happens to her, I'll feel guilty for the rest of my life."
Li Xin lightly patted her shoulder and confidently replied: "Don't worry; as long as she's in the walled city, I can find her."
Turning, he hurried toward Twelve, who was waiting at the city gate, and without stopping handed him the photo in his hand.
Walking, he said: "Twelve, no pleasantries—I'm here to find someone and bring the person in the photo safely to Uncle Dragon's barbershop."
"You go say hello to Tiger Brother and have him send people to look too; if we can't find her, I'll smash his prized wine cup."
Twelve grunted an "En!" and hurried off.
A squad of over a hundred men, led by Li Xin, moved through the walled city without hindrance.
Those who knew Li Xin greeted him.
"Brother Xin, you're so free today—come eat dog meat hot pot, huh?"
"Brother Xin, come to my place for a meal later; I'll go tell my wife to prepare."
"A Xin, don't rush off later—let's have a drink together."
It's clear that many people here are familiar with him.
Li Xin didn't exchange pleasantries, answering as he walked: "I can't stay today—my friend's sister has gone missing in the walled city, and I'm here to look for her."
"Today, a female actor from the film crew—if you see her, bring her to Uncle Dragon's; I'll be waiting there."
By the time Li Xin arrived at the barbershop, Dragon Whirlwind was already waiting at the door.
He and Xin Yi, who was guarding the door, nodded at each other as a greeting.
Xin Yi shouted "Brother Xin!" and hurried away.
Li Xin also stood on ceremony, had his men wait outside, and brought He Qiong into the barbershop, sitting directly in a customer's chair.
He spoke right away: "Uncle Dragon, cut my hair—outside barbers aren't skilled; nothing looks as good as your cuts."
Dragon Whirlwind pushed up his glasses and laughed, scolding: "You kid have taste—how could those hack barbers compare to me? They're nowhere near!"
He Qiong sat on the stool, somewhat restless, shifting her body back and forth.
Seeing her state in the mirror, Li Xin said: "Stay calm; as long as she's in the walled city, we can find her."
The precondition is: don't die!
Dragon Whirlwind wrapped a barber's cloth around him, took out scissors, and began cutting his hair.
His hands kept moving as he asked: "What's the big deal today? You don't need help finding someone; you came yourself, and no one would deny you face as your benefactor."
"The cars I've been sending to the lot have had some issues; I don't want to make a fuss, so today I'll give them a warning—if this problem shows up again, I'll wipe them out."
"Damn it, giving face gets you none—those bastards even stole the car of those damn human‑rights‑committee critics, stirring up a little trouble for me."
"You know me—I hate trouble, never leave loose ends; if I can't settle the trouble, I eliminate the source—a bunch of scumbags!"
"Without the high prices I pay them, they'd have to sell their children and still starve, yet they bring me trouble—that's all on them."
"This time it's a warning; next time I'll wipe them out—if I don't kill a few monkeys, even chickens will dare cross the line to forage, with no rules at all."
Dragon Whirlwind laughed in exasperation and gave him a light tap on the back of the head.
"Have you ever talked about rules? And yet you say others don't? You're truly shameless!"
Li Xin grinned, unbothered, and asked with a smile: "Is today the first day you've known me?"
"I don't need to reason—if anyone dares cross my line, I'll beat them; if they still won't submit, I'll kill them; if even death doesn't convince them, I'll scatter their ashes."
"I feed them, yet they still cause me trouble—there's no justice in that; even if I'm right, or even if I'm not, what can you do?"
"Everyone looks down on the walled city; I'm kind‑hearted and give them a full meal—what more do you want?"
Dragon Whirlwind ignored his twisted logic and simply asked: "Is the trouble settled?"
Bringing this up just pissed him off—those damn critics! Not one of them is easy to deal with; if Uncle Wen hadn't pulled strings, he'd have wasted a lot of effort.
In the end, he still lost several hundred thousand, which he gave as compensation.
The money is trivial; it's this anger that has nowhere to go!
If he weren't here for this today, he'd still come by in the next few days to say hello to Dragon Whirlwind.
I've made my attitude clear—if this happens again, don't blame him for flipping the table.
Damn it, nobody's eating!
Not long after, Tiger Brother, boss of Jiaoshitang, arrived with Twelve, and behind them followed a twenty‑something girl, her face filled with fear.
Her outfit was pretty unconventional.
Seeing the girl walk in, He Qiong's face lit up with surprise, then instantly turned to fury.
She shouted in anger: "Next time you dare shake off your bodyguard, I'll lock you at home—no more thinking about going out to act. Hear me?"
Seeing her sister furious, He Yi trembled like a sparrow, nodding meekly: "I won't dare, big sister—I'll obey from now on."
Seeing that everyone had been found, Li Xin told He Qiong: "He Qiong, take your sister home; I still have some business."
He said to Twelve: "Twelve, escort them out of the walled city."
"Sure!"
Twelve's reply was still brief and clear.
He Qiong gratefully said to him: "A Xin, thanks to you this time—I'll treat you to a meal another day; you definitely have to come."
"Sure, we'll set it up later—there's still time for a meal; who let us be fated to meet?"
Li Xin teased.
He Qiong gave him a side‑eye.
After the two sisters left, Tiger Brother chuckled and asked, "A Xin, is this your girlfriend?"
"Hmm, you have good taste. It's almost ready—I've already booked it; no one can snatch it away."
"Tiger Brother, hear me out: if your Hall of Dignity folks stir up trouble for me again, I'll flay them—no talking."
"When Li Xin spoke to Tiger Brother, he was no longer polite; he got straight to the point, counting the Hall of Dignity in as well."
"Tiger Brother looked bewildered—what trouble?"
"Not long after, he realized it must be a problem with the vehicle."
"He glanced back at the Twelfth Young Master."
"Though the Twelfth Young Master speaks little, he knows Tiger Uncle's habits well; he turned and left to deal with the matter."
"Just as he reached the door, he heard Li Xin say: 'Twelfth, come back later for a drink.'"
"'Okay, Brother Xin.'"
"The Twelfth Young Master replied."
"Tornado brushed the stubble off his hair and said, 'Go wash up.'"
"After cleaning himself up, he then sat on the stool and chatted idly with the two."
"Never mind grudges; when interests are involved, sitting together for a drink is quite normal."
"Also don't talk about how Tornado is—good people can't survive in the walled city."
"This is a place that eats people."
"He just has a higher bottom line!"
"No one mentioned He Yi; Li Xin didn't ask, and Tiger Brother didn't bring it up."
"When the person returned, the matter was settled cleanly."
