Chapter 9
Li Xin was bored when he received notice to go to the Central headquarters for a meeting.
A BMW 750 was parked at the headquarters entrance; the parking attendant knew Li Xin had arrived, hurried over, opened the car door, and even held the roof with his hand.
The parking attendant's actions made Li Xin laugh; after getting out of the car, he asked, "Are you from the Central hall?"
"Brother Xin, I'm an affiliated blue lantern, just making a living here." The parking attendant, who somewhat resembled Jiang Tian Sheng, replied respectfully.
"What's your name?"
"Brother Xin, I'm Chen Yaoxing."
Li Xin knew who this person was; he was the future Wanchai Tiger.
He had a little idea; he didn't lack fighters around him, one Luo Tianhong was enough.
He lacked someone who could get things done; according to the movie's portrayal, this person was definitely a talent.
Taking the car keys from Tianhong's hand and placing them in Chen Yaoxing's hand, he said, "This key is yours to keep; from now on you'll park my car—any problem?"
Chen Yaoxing gripped the car keys, his palms sweating, knowing his luck had turned.
Who would have thought such a small gesture would bring great fortune; as an affiliated blue lantern, being able to park the car for Brother Xin, a big brother of the jianghu, was definitely a leap to the top.
He bowed respectfully to Li Xin and excitedly said, "Thank you, Brother Xin, for the opportunity."
Luo Tianhong slapped him on the back of the head and said, "You street punk, just arrived and you're stealing my work—park the car properly, or I'll beat you."
Luo Tianhong followed behind Li Xin and asked doubtfully, "Big Brother, what's special about that kid?"
"Well, in a fight he'd definitely lose to you, but this kid looks pretty sharp; when the company gets busy, we can't have you do everything, or we'll wear you out?"
"I took a liking to him, so I'll take him on; let him park cars for a while to see how he does—if it works, I'll bring him in, and you'll have it easier."
"Yeah, the big brother still cares about himself."
Just as he sat down, Fatty Lai spoke in a sarcastic tone: "Some people still have no sense of time—are you making Mr. Jiang wait for you?"
Li Xin picked up the tea cup on the table and smashed it on his head; blood immediately flowed out.
He stood up, pointed at Fatty Lai, and shouted: "Fuck your mother, did I give you face? I don't want to deal with you, but you won't quit—do you want a one-on-one or a group fight?"
"You choose."
After cursing, Li Xin's eyes flashed with menace as he stared at Fatty Lai's neck; Fatty Lai felt a chill on his neck.
Beside him, Han Bin quickly pulled him and urged, "A Xin, we're from the same gang—no need for this; hurry up and sit down, Mr. Jiang will be here soon."
Seeing Fatty Lai's resentful gaze, Li Xin's anger flared again; he kicked over the chair and was about to beat him.
Taizi hurried over, hugged him, and urged, "A Xin, don't fight in the Loyalty and Righteousness Hall; wait till the meeting's over and we'll talk outside."
Everyone in the meeting room rolled their eyes; your advice is useless—everyone in the room knows what Li Xin is like.
Once out of this room, not a single business under Fatty Lai's name could stay open.
Luo Tianhong leaned against the wall, looking at Fatty Lai with a somewhat dangerous gaze, knowing that in the headquarters he couldn't act, otherwise it would be insubordination.
Once outside the headquarters, that's no longer the case—killing is definitely out, the big brothers wouldn't agree, but beating him up is still possible.
It seems the hoodie wasn't left in the car; later I'll have that new kid buy a set, then tonight we'll first give him a beating to let the big brothers vent.
Luo Tianhong doesn't care about human life, even his own.
"If one day he could die in a showdown with the big brothers, he feels that would be the perfect way to die."
……
Jiang Tian Sheng brought Chen Yaoxing in, looked at the atmosphere in the room, and smiled, saying, "What's this, are we starting a boxing match?"
Everyone stood up to greet the Dragon Head.
After Jiang Tian Sheng settled into the chief seat, he looked at Fatty Lai and asked, "What's up with your head?"
He glanced at Li Xin, then replied sullenly, "Nothing, Mr. Jiang, I just bumped it accidentally."
"Motherfucker, why can't I shut this mouth? Knowing he's hard to deal with, I still had to be smart‑assy."
"As long as I finish telling this in front of Mr. Jiang today, that street‑punk Xin, once he steps out that door, is sure to ruin his business!"
"Motherfucker, best to get hit by a car when he goes out." Fatty Lai cursed Li Xin in his heart.
"Well, then let's start the meeting; over the past couple days, each hall and other gangs have had considerable friction."
"I'll state my position here: as long as you have an excuse, the gang will back you to the end—give money if you need money, give people if you need people, as long as you deliver results."
Jiang Tian Sheng's words had just fallen.
Applause thundered in the meeting room; several ambitious hall Thus line: Leaders were even more effusive with flattery.
Leng Kwan spoke in a hoarse voice, being the first to speak: "Sheng Ge, Mong Kok needs manpower support; everyone knows this place has too many forces, all restless, and my manpower is a bit stretched."
After speaking, he also adjusted his crotch.
Who knows, maybe he got his skin bitten by a fire extinguisher?
"Yeah, that's fine; we'll allocate manpower from the headquarters to you—if you can expand Mong Kok's territory a bit, the headquarters will give half the settlement fee—any problem?"
Jiang Tian Sheng looked at Leng Kwan and asked.
"No, with the gang giving this much support, if I still can't expand territory, then it's my inadequacy as Leng Kwan, and I'm willing to step down and let the worthy take over."
Leng Kwan had the confidence to say that; you could say his time is short, or that he's hot‑tempered, but you must admit he has real talent.
Leng Kwan glanced at Li Xin, thought, then said to Li Xin: "Besides the big oaf, I have no fighter who can hold the banner; I'd like to borrow your personal guard Luo Tianhong. What do you say, A Xin?"
Li Xin inadvertently glanced at Jiang Tian Sheng, saw him nod slightly, and smiled, replying: "Brother Kwan, if you think highly of Tianhong, I have no problem."
"You ask him yourself if he's willing to go; he's not only my personal guard but also my brother—I won't force him to do anything, including gang work; if one day he gets tired of the gang, I'll give him a clean slate."
After hearing his own big brother's words, Luo Tianhong's eyes turned red; he's still young, hasn't undergone much societal tribulation, and after losing to Li Xin, he's been following him ever since.
He's still just a simple martial arts fanatic—how could he endure this!
Luo Tianhong hurriedly said, "No problem, Big Brother; I'll go to Mong Kok to back up Brother Kwan."
Leng Kwan watched the two of them, his mouth twitching—damn, one dares to speak, the other dares to believe; how come he never meets such a fight‑loving fool?
"Yeah, Brother Kwan won't make it in this lifetime—he can't beat Tianhong, so how can he subdue him?"
Nothing else is useful!
Jingkun looked at Li Xin and said again: "This time I owe you one. If anything comes up in the future, if you can use me, just speak up. I, Jingkun, won't say anything else, but my word is absolute. Out in the world, credibility is everything."
Li Xin instantly laughed and hurriedly said: "Of course, who doesn't know Brother Kun's silver tongue? A sharp tongue is worth gold."
Actually, I have a favor to ask, Brother Kun. I heard you just got a few sets of the most advanced filming equipment. I've just opened a film company and still lack equipment!
So I want to borrow two sets from you, Brother Kun. What do you say, Brother Kun?
Everyone was speechless. It's you again, A Xin!
