Chapter 21: Delay on the Road

~7 min read 1,267 words

Huo Ya's full‑force strike, even at peak condition is hard to withstand, let alone they are now riddled with wounds.

The fireball slowly descends, the group has reached their limit. The flames approach, even the air seems ignited.

The three's faces flushed red, sweat poured down like a waterfall.

"Faster! Even faster!" With a command, the Human Race's Destiny streaked across the night sky like a meteor, burning out instantly, while a mysterious strongman's speed surged, like an arrow released.

Immediately, a mountain‑and‑sea‑like impact slammed into the Vast Wilderness World's sturdy shield, as if heaven and earth collapsed, and the whole world trembled.

Even the lofty Elder Ancestor Hongjun suddenly opened his eyes, filled with incredulous astonishment.

"What on earth is this? Why does Honghuang repeatedly suffer incursions by foreign forces?" The usually mountain‑steady Hongjun now furrowed his brows, full of doubt.

He swiftly mobilized his intellect, seeking to uncover the truth behind this celestial turmoil. Yet after a bout of effort, his mind remained shrouded in fog, only sensing a mysterious, unfathomable force breaching Honghuang's defenses, racing forward.

"Where exactly does the problem lie?" Inside Zixiao Palace, the atmosphere suddenly tightened, energy surged like a sea in a raging storm.

Hongjun's inadvertently emitted overwhelming aura turned the surrounding Chaos into massive vortices, each harboring terrifying power capable of destroying strongmen, and space moaned in pain as they were torn.

"Could it be… him?" Hongjun's gaze suddenly fixed on Yangmei.

Perhaps it was Yangmei standing behind the Human Race, and those sudden strongmen were the forces he secretly cultivated within Chaos, stepping onto this contested land again.

"Yangmei, your move is truly clever; today I'll reveal your true face." Hongjun decided in his heart, then calmed his inner turbulence, regaining his usual composure.

Meanwhile, in the Human Race's tribe, Huo Ya's coalesced blazing fireball had already neared Zhou Yi and his two companions' limit, as if it would swallow them in a sea of fire the next moment.

At this moment of life and death, a figure standing on a fire dragon, like a divine soldier from the heavens, suddenly appeared before the three, delivering a heavy punch at the fireball.

That force was like a mountain‑and‑sea surge, yet before him it was not even a mere breeze.

"Zhu Song!" Taiyi Shen's eyes widened, staring fixedly at that figure.

"I've arrived at the right moment." Zhu Song surveyed the surroundings; it turned out that after the Hou Tu Tribe received the news, to avoid revealing his identity, he had specifically invited his elder brother Zhu Song. Upon hearing this, Zhu Song's curiosity and impulse coexisted, prompting him to come and see for himself.

"The big feathered bird brings the little feathered bird." As soon as Zhu Song finished speaking, Taiyi Shen and Huo Ya's expressions instantly darkened.

Huo Ya, without a word, swung his flaming longsword; as the blade left its sheath, space seemed sliced by the edge, and the flame law surged out like a tide.

Yao Yan, standing aside, stared dumbfounded; if he is the master of fire, then Huo Ya's command of the flame law was nothing short of a deity descending.

The flaming longsword was scorching beyond measure, its temperature nearly that of the sun; any life that approached would be reduced to void.

Yet the Zhu Song standing opposite was the ruler of fire.

Moreover, Zhu Song's flesh was now extremely robust; when Huo Ya's flaming longsword struck him, a "crack" sounded, and the blade snapped into two pieces.

"Kid, let me teach you how to truly command fire!" Zhu Song roared, lunged forward, seized Huo Ya's arm and yanked hard; Huo Ya, unable to resist, was dragged toward Zhu Song.

Immediately, Zhu Song's fist, like thunderous might, caused Huo Ya to instantly lose control of his body and be hurled away by the heavy blows.

At the critical moment, Taiyi Shen wielded divine power, a beam of light securely catching Huo Ya.

He let out a cold snort, and the Donghuang Bell in his hand flared brilliantly, like a dazzling meteor, crashing straight at Zhu Song.

Their collision proved evenly matched; golden and crimson flames intertwined in the air, lighting the whole sky as bright as day.

"You already threw yourselves to the Wu Clan," Taiyi Shen's voice was as cold as ice, while he released his quasi‑saint-level powerful aura.

Upon hearing that, Zhu Song's anger flared: "Dead Bird Feather, have the nerve to spar with me!"

Before the words finished, he transformed into a bolt of lightning, rushed to Taiyi Shen's front, raised his fist and smashed, the fist seeming capable of splitting heaven and earth.

The Donghuang Bell leapt out in time, blocking Zhu Song's heavy fist; the collision sound was terrifying, more shocking than the earlier combined attack of the three.

Zhu Song's punches flew at lightning speed, each imbued with power that could destroy heaven and earth, making everything around tremble. Huo Ya, seeing this stance, was terrified and fled far away.

Taiyi Shen, using the Donghuang Bell to block the attack, had the shadow of a three‑legged golden crow emerge behind him, his combat power soaring, directly confronting Zhu Song.

The two fought fiercely, flames splashing in all directions, bright as the sun.

The battle stalled, neither could win. "Huo Ya, hurry and take care of our business, eliminate those three."

Taiyi Shen's expression grew grim, determined to eradicate those members of the Human Race. Zhu Song tried to intervene, but the Donghuang Bell clung to him tightly.

"I'll duel you one‑on‑one," Taiyi Shen said coldly.

Huo Ya, upon hearing the order, immediately charged toward Zhou Yi and his companions. Zhou Yi and the others, having just recovered a bit, quickly met the fight.

Although the Destiny's shadow was shattered, it still surged to the front to block Huo Ya.

The two Bai Ze also rushed forward. When the two sides collided, energy overflowed, shaking the entire heavens.

Yet despite such a fierce attack, Huo Ya was unfazed, passing straight through the explosion, lunging at everyone.

The Destiny's shadow tried to block again, but Huo Ya easily dealt with it; Zhou Yi was knocked back, spitting blood from the recoil.

"You're doomed!" Huo Ya's eyes flashed with ferocity, his claws sharp enough to tear anything apart.

As Huo Ya was about to seize the three, a massive hand fell from the sky, smashing onto him, deflecting his attack and leaving it empty.

"Who is this?" Huo Ya thought, startled, feeling the opponent's strength matched his own.

"I am Huang!" a thunderous shout, the sky lit up with a blinding light, like a rising sun.

A figure in white clothing flashed before Huo Ya, his body crackling with electricity.

The aura resembled a demon god sprinting out of Chaos; Huo Ya's complexion changed drastically.

Although the opponent's realm was lower than his own, their combat power made Huo Ya feel extremely dangerous.

"Sorry, Human Ancestor, for the delay on the road." Shi Hao looked at the wounded three, his face full of remorse. They had been exhausted fighting Taiyi Shen earlier, then pressed down by Huo Ya; that they could endure until now was truly a miracle, sustained solely by willpower.

Even though they have good talent, the gap in realms is too great, leaving them powerless.

"Watch its speed and fire; both are quite sinister." Zhou Yi said, standing on the protective shield, the magical formation behind him shimmering faintly under the reflection of Human Race's Qingyu Finance.

"Don't worry." Shi Hao replied confidently, giving Zhou Yi a steady look.

"Why is another Human Race appearing?"
