Chapter 65: Considerable Potential

At this moment, they were already thousands of li away from Huang Guo, and this region was equally unfamiliar to them.

Shan keenly spotted a group of creatures appearing below.

"Those are a pack of tiger demons!"

Before them, a herd of white tigers marched orderly eastward; the leader had attained the Celestial Immortal level, while the cubs behind it were weaker, some not even reaching the Human Immortal realm.

They lined up quietly, following the great tiger at a slow pace, making the whole formation highly concealed.

Xiao Ling'er observed and sensed something odd: "It doesn't look like an ordinary patrol; aside from the stronger leader, the rest are all quite ordinary."

However, Shan was impatient; at the sight of the demons he wanted to act, "Sister Ling'er, let's go straight down and subdue that leading tiger demon."

"Then bring the rest back and raise them slowly."

"When they grow, let them reproduce."

"I've already seen them; among these tiger demons there are both males and females."

"And they're numerous—a rare valuable resource."

Xiao Ling'er thought for a moment, then finally nodded in agreement with his proposal.

So the two stopped concealing themselves, dropping straight from the sky amid a howl of wind.

As soon as they landed, the leading white tiger became alert, its massive body suddenly turning, its wide eyes fixed on Xiao Ling'er and Shan, full of caution.

"Human Race?"

Shan laughed heartily, stepped forward, and exuded a strong aura.

"Tiger demons, today you become prey of the Human Race; surrender obediently!" he said, then swung his right fist with immense force toward the white tiger.

The strike was swift and powerful, full of resolve.

The space seemed to tear under the punch's impact, accompanied by a deafening blast.

The white tiger, seeing this, had no choice but to fight. It opened its huge mouth and spewed a white energy beam, like a sharp long sword, aimed straight at Shan's fist.

When they collided, a earth‑shaking roar erupted. The energy wave spread outward like surging tides, uprooting trees, blasting rocks into fragments, and sending dust swirling.

Xiao Ling'er also acted swiftly; the flaming white Ze phantom she summoned struck the ground with thunderous force, instantly forming two deep craters, the scorching flames turning the earth a charred black.

As the white Ze phantom fell, the white tiger, relying on its agility, deftly evaded the attack, lingeringly gazing at the two pits and silently marveling that such power could almost match its innate skill.

Considering Xiao Ling'er and Shan's strength comparable to its own, the white tiger dared not be careless.

Xiao Ling'er and Shan's gazes were icy, locked onto the white tiger, their goal a swift, decisive battle.

Both reached out simultaneously, and a wondrous phenomenon appeared: a 'Sun' character floated above Xiao Ling'er's hand, while a 'Flame' character manifested on Shan's.

The tiny flames on the ground, originally sparked by the spell clash, quickly grew under the power of the two characters, turning into two fire dragons that spread outward, encircling the white tiger group and closing in.

The cubs, facing the approaching flames, were unusually terrified, their bodies trembling continuously.

"Bad!" the leading white tiger realized the dire situation, never expecting the two to redirect their attack toward the cubs.

It dared not delay, immediately letting out a roar, a faint golden light shimmering around its body.

Then a roar imbued with the law of gold rang out; golden sound waves surged outward like crashing waves, meeting the flames and forming a standoff, temporarily halting the fire's advance.

Shan watched all this with interest, a hint of a smile at the corner of his mouth, "Some skill."

He could feel the opponent's strength matched his own, yet their tactical application lagged slightly.

Xiao Ling'er sensed Shan's thought and whispered, "Be careful."

Shan nodded, then surged power, the whole body like an arrow released from a bow, charging at the white tiger. Though his size was far smaller than a white tiger's leg, there was no hint of fear in his eyes, only a gleam of excitement.

The white tiger raised its sharp claws high, then swung them down with thunderous force.

In an instant, shadows covered the surrounding hills. He stared at the howling wind rushing overhead, then suddenly exerted force to deliver a punch.

The fist and palm collided, emitting a deep yet resonant sound that made the surrounding air vibrate.

At that moment, the white tiger was filled with shock. "How could this happen?"

It thought, "I thought only a few strong ones existed among the Human Race; then where did these two emerge from?"

From the corner of its eye it saw Xiao Ling'er with arms crossed, standing quietly aside watching. "There's still one person who hasn't acted; this is truly troublesome." The white tiger lamented inwardly, and as the battle progressed its terror deepened.

The intertwining forces of words and flame scorched many parts of the white tiger's body, exposing the charred skin beneath.

However, the flames did not cease their spread, continuing to burn on its body.

On one side it had to face Shan's powerful attacks, on the other it had to contend with the fire on its body, leaving the white tiger in a dilemma.

Meanwhile, Shan grew fiercer as the fight continued, seemingly intent on completely suppressing the white tiger.

Under the intense onslaught of flame, the white tiger's movements became increasingly arduous.

"Sister Ling'er, if I accidentally kill this guy, it should be fine, right? After all there are other tiger demons."

Shan felt the power that had been binding him gradually weaken, and he was thrilled.

Xiao Ling'er thought briefly and replied, "It doesn't matter; leaving some of the Demon Race is enough."

"These tiger demons have very pure bloodlines; their future cultivation potential is considerable, more than enough."

Having received Xiao Ling'er's approval, Shan's assault grew even more ferocious; even when the white tiger knocked him airborne, he could swiftly return to the battlefield.

Hearing their conversation, the white tiger sensed a flaw and hurriedly shouted, "Wait, I'm not of the Demon Race; I am of the White Tiger clan."

Shan sneered, "Stop making excuses; a tiger demon is a tiger demon, there is no such thing as a White Tiger clan."

Although Shan had seen many forms of tiger demons, this was his first encounter with a white one. He thought this white tiger was merely one among many tiger demons.

Seeing the disbelief, the white tiger hastily explained, "I'm not lying; our White Tiger clan has not joined the Demon Race. I came this time to study the Human Race's script."

Xiao Ling'er was startled by the words, immediately halting Shan's next move: "Wait, what he said might be true."

Shan's hand froze mid‑air; since Xiao Ling'er had spoken, he naturally could not continue the attack.

Nevertheless, he felt a slight regret that his battle fervor could not be fully unleashed.

As they walked back, he couldn't help but glance back at the white tiger, a look that gave the tiger a shiver of cold.

Then Xiao Ling'er gently waved her hand, extinguishing the surrounding flames, and slowly stepped forward.
