Chapter 93: The Power of Attack
The two of them knew their own flame power quite well, so they understood that the force of that recent strike was no trivial matter.
Using those low‑grade spiritual treasures to casually block such an attack would only result in them being destroyed.
If, in ordinary times, a low‑grade spiritual treasure protected by magic might barely hold, the opponent's wanton recklessness—wasting precious resources as if they mattered not—shook the two greatly, almost overturning their understanding.
Ao Yin, seeing their shocked expressions, became even more convinced of his earlier judgment: the Human Race is nothing special.
Just a few low‑grade spiritual treasures could astonish them so; if they were to witness the mountain‑piled treasures inside the Dragon Palace, it would likely shatter their worldview completely.
"You Human Race folk are truly ignorant," Ao Yin said disdainfully, a contemptuous smile on his face.
As a member of the Dragon Race, he possessed countless treasures; to him, low‑grade spiritual treasures were nothing, especially post‑natal spiritual treasures, which he regarded as trivial.
What followed was hard for Xiao Ling'er and her companion to accept.
Suddenly, dazzling rays burst from behind Ao Yin, and a variety of magical artifacts—knives, spears, swords, halberds, axes, hooks, and forks—appeared one by one, glittering like countless stars in the night sky, bathing the surrounding space in a kaleidoscope of colors.
This scene left the onlookers gaping, too astonished to speak.
"What kind of people are these?" someone gasped, "Heavens, they're all spiritual treasures—how is that possible?"
Although Ao Yin's clan had long been dormant, its former prestige still echoed through the world.
Many instantly recognized Ao Yin's identity, yet even more were stunned by the multitude of spiritual treasures displayed behind him.
"Ready? I'm about to attack," Ao Yin said, a cold smile curling his lips; with a wave, the light from those spiritual treasures grew blinding, turning into streaks that raced toward Xiao Ling'er and her companion.
Seeing this, Xiao Ling'er and her companion silently cursed their fate, dodging left and right to survive.
Such grade of treasure is rare even among the Human Race.
At this moment they possessed no suitable weapons, forced to rely on their own spells to barely hold.
Watching others waste spiritual treasures carelessly filled them with resentment.
"Shan, use that move to win!" Xiao Ling'er's usually calm voice now carried excitement, "These spiritual treasures can't be wasted any longer; we must seize them for ourselves!"
There are at least a thousand spiritual treasures here, including hundreds of exceedingly precious innate low‑grade ones.
The number of post‑natal forged spiritual treasures is even larger, enough to equip the members of their squad.
If they could claim those magical artifacts as their own, their power would increase dramatically.
"As you command!" Shan roared, charging without hesitation into the meteor‑like lights.
Ao Yin watched their actions with cold eyes, a faint contemptuous smile on his lips, silently mocking: "Two clueless beings daring to charge recklessly under my magical artifact assault—do they really think this is easy?"
The next second, Ao Yin's figure flickered; the artifacts seemed to answer a summons, gathering all their power onto him.
In a few swift motions, he appeared before Shan and Xiao Ling'er, his raised palm whistling with wind as it slammed onto Shan's chest.
Shan felt a searing pain, as if struck by a boulder, and was involuntarily thrown backward, spitting blood.
Just as Ao Yin thought he had succeeded, Shan's figure suddenly vanished.
Ao Yin's heart tightened; he thought, "Not good, the same move again! Last time that strange step cost me, this time I must not be careless."
Even though he had surrounded the area with numerous magical artifacts forming a tight barrier, he still felt a hint of unease, fearing the burning phantom of the white beast might strike again.
At the same time, he noticed Xiao Ling'er standing motionless beside him.
He knew this person's strength far exceeded Shan's; once she acted, she would pose the greatest threat to him, so he had to stay vigilant.
At this moment, the two flames in Xiao Ling'er's hands had merged into a bow‑arrow shape, emitting a chilling high temperature that made the surrounding air warp as if being scorched.
Meanwhile, Shan ran onto the city wall, a sly grin on his face, muttering, "Today it all depends on you, please!"
After speaking, he thrust his hand onto the wall; in an instant, golden light flashed, swiftly enveloping Shan's body and merging into him.
He saw this scene, and Shan's smile brightened further. He kicked the ground hard, launching himself like an arrow into the sky, his right hand flashing like lightning to seize Xiao Ling'er's hand.
In that instant, the golden light that had merged with Shan seemed to find a new path, rushing into Xiao Ling'er's arm and causing the mana within her to boil.
Then Shan launched another assault, the phantom of the white beast blazing as it raced through the air, charging straight at the shield Ao Yin had constructed with spiritual treasures.
Amid the roaring, flames sprayed everywhere; each spiritual treasure shattered under the white beast's phantom's fierce impact, scattering downwards in fragments.
"What kind of magic is this?"
"Why can they contend with me?" Ao Yin wondered.
He could not fathom why these two seemingly ordinary members of the Human Race possessed such astonishing power and bizarre spells, managing to match him, a Dragon Race member, blow for blow.
Yet, with Shan pressing forward step by step, Ao Yin had no time to think; he gritted his teeth and invoked the law of water, binding that power to the surrounding spiritual treasures, greatly amplifying them and even subtly suppressing the burning phantom of the white beast.
"Be careful not to destroy my spiritual treasures!" Xiao Ling'er shouted, distressed as she saw Shan wield the white beast's phantom to continuously crush falling spiritual treasures.
The remark inflamed Ao Yin: "You dare treat me as your own, overstepping all bounds!"
Nevertheless, Xiao Ling'er had already readied her weapon, her gaze firm, and issued a command: "Go!"
Ao Yin, unable to attend to anything else, hurriedly mobilized all magical artifacts to try to fend off the strike.
But those artifacts appeared pale and powerless before the flame arrow, gradually being devoured as their light faded.
Finally, the arrow imbued with the Human Race's destiny surged unstoppable, piercing Ao Yin's body; he felt a sharp pain and then collapsed, losing consciousness.
"Sister Ling'er, you finished him like that?" Shan asked in surprise.
Xiao Ling'er's complexion was as white as snow, utterly colorless.
That arrow had nearly drained most of the mana in her body.
She shook her head slightly, saying in a weak voice:
"Go check it out; I have already lessened the attack's force."
"He's still alive, but his breath is weak."
"Take him away and hand him over to the Human Race for disposition."
So, the gravely wounded Ao Yin, his chest pierced, was carried by the two toward the core of the Human Race's territory.
