Compared to proving the Dao, the temptation of immortality is not that great! Yet after hearing the Yin-Yang Old Ancestor's explanation, Zhu Qingyun instantly heightened his defenses, driving the All-Heavens Repelling Evil Great Formation to its utmost!

"There's no need for you to be so guarded, Daoist; if I truly harbored such intent, I wouldn't have informed you."

The Yin-Yang Old Ancestor sensed the formation's operation and then explained.

However, seeing that Zhu Qingyun still did not cease his control of the All-Heavens Repelling Evil Great Formation, he helplessly gave a wry smile and swore an oath to the Great Dao.

"Great Dao above, I, Yin-Yang, swear that I harbor no design to forcibly seize the Great Dao Hongmeng Purple Qi of Daoist Heaven Fortune; should I violate this oath, I am willing to have my consciousness annihilated and to sink eternally!"

Beside him, the Daoist Qiankun was about to dissuade Yin-Yang, but seeing his friend had already sworn a Great Dao oath, he helplessly shook his head and likewise swore a Great Dao oath.

"Great Dao above, I, Qiankun, swear that I harbor no design to forcibly seize the Great Dao Hongmeng Purple Qi of Daoist Heaven Fortune; should I violate this oath, I am willing to have my consciousness annihilated and to sink eternally!"

Consciousness annihilation and eternal sinking—even if one were immortal, it would hold no meaning.

Only then did Zhu Qingyun lower his defenses and apologize to the two.

"Both Daoists, I have slighted your aspirations toward the Dao; I hereby apologize to you both!"

The effect of the Great Dao Hongmeng Purple Qi is not greatly different from that of the Heavenly Dao Hongmeng Purple Qi produced by Hongjun in the primordial flow novels of my past life; the only difference is that one entrusts the true spirit to the Great Dao, while the other entrusts it to the primordial Heavenly Dao.
