Chapter 48
"Some games release characters from future story arcs as a form of early promotion," the researcher explained to Asta.
So that was it! Asta suddenly understood.
But this put them in a rather disadvantageous position.
They didn't even know which world this person was from or what her personality was like—were they just supposed to pull blindly?
They didn't even know how strong she was.
"We don't even know her strength, are we just going to pull blindly?" Asta looked at the interface below.
Suddenly, she exclaimed, "Wait, there's a trial here!"
Come to think of it, she hadn't seen a game like this before; it actually let you try out a character before pulling for them?
"No wonder it lets us pull directly—it's because there's a trial, isn't it?"
Everyone decided to have Asta try out this character named Seele.
Asta herself was very willing!
She clicked on the character trial in the warp banner.
Upon entering the battle interface, the first thing she saw was the trial team paired with March 7th.
Three enemies rushed forward, and Seele quickly unleashed her skill.
"Swish, swish, swish!"
The moment the skill was unleashed, blue light flooded the entire screen.
"Holy crap!"
"Whoa!"
"So cool!"
The researchers were stunned; they hadn't expected Seele's skill to be this cool.
Moreover, such a cool character actually used a scythe—a very long one that looked incredibly effective in combat.
"The damage isn't low, either!"
Someone shouted, "I just wonder what her Ultimate is like?"
"Look at that massive scythe; it would be strange if her Ultimate wasn't cool!"
The researcher who had spoken to him rolled his eyes.
Indeed, it would be strange if a character wielding such a massive scythe didn't look cool, and the damage didn't look low, either.
"Shall we try the Ultimate damage?"
Asta heard this and immediately unleashed the Ultimate she had saved up against the enemies in front.
Then, silver-blue light like silk threads spread across the entire screen, as if slicing the enemies into countless pieces.
"Ah!"
The opponents fell to the ground, their health bars instantly depleted.
"Alright, it's over!"
"As expected, the damage is definitely not low!" the researcher nearby quickly said.
Who didn't know that?
Just the thought of it made them feel an unprecedented sense of excitement.
"Even if it's just for this damage, I have to pull for this character!"
Many researchers thought to themselves.
Then, they urged Asta to pull for the character.
"Alright!" Asta clicked the 'Warp 10' button.
The massive train roared in from the distance, Pom-Pom stood at the train door, and a purple light was released from within.
"Purple?" Asta looked at it in surprise.
It wasn't gold!
"Clearly, gold isn't that easy to get," the crowd nearby couldn't help but say to Asta.
"Yeah, how could a game make it so easy for you to pull a gold?" the researchers comforted her.
Asta thought about it, and it seemed to be the case; she looked at the Stellar Jades she had left.
She finally decided that she could still pull a few more times.
"Then let's try again and see how many pulls it takes for me to get a gold?" Asta thought, and clicked again.
As it turned out, Asta only got another purple, and nothing else after that.
