Chapter 70: Stealthy Glance

~6 min read 1,131 words

Unlike the actors from North Electric, Central Drama, and Shanghai Drama.

Gao Yuanyuan attended a regular university, and as she listened to others laughing and chatting about campus life, she truly found no common ground.

After forcing a few minutes of smiles.

The girl slipped out of the tent without a trace.

Looking at the busy set preparing for filming, Gao Yuanyuan boredly picked up a stick, swung it idly, and slowly drifted backward; thinking of today’s scene, she felt a wave of dread.

Today was also her major scene.

She had to perform in front of over a hundred people and convey Zhou Zhiruo’s complex emotions as she wounded Zhang Wuji.

For her,

it was a high-difficulty challenge.

All she could hope for now was that the martial arts director would assign her simple movements.

Thinking of this, another figure surfaced in her mind.

The martial moves she found impossible seemed effortless to him, as if eating and drinking; the same prop sword in his hands moved with lifelike fluidity.

But every time she wanted to ask him for advice,

he politely turned her down.

Gao Yuanyuan wasn’t foolish—she could tell Li Luo seemed afraid of rumors linking them, which left her both amused and exasperated.

She had genuinely been grateful when he saved her before.

But it hadn’t risen to the level of affection; still, she couldn’t just openly say so.

Back then, had she chosen to be with him,

she wouldn’t have cared what others said—but she never imagined it would cause such confusion.

But Li Luo had saved her.

Gao Yuanyuan couldn’t let this make her resent him.

As she swung the stick, a sudden, urgent whisper drifted into her ears—like an illusion, it vanished instantly.

She immediately stopped walking.

Her eyes flickered forward.

Gao Yuanyuan was certain: she hadn’t imagined it.

But just like yesterday, nearly all crew members were needed up front to clear the set, others were either getting makeup or rehearsing lines.

The rest area was as lively as a party.

How could someone be in the prop area?!

Driven by curiosity,

she lightened her steps and crept cautiously toward the source of the sound.

Her ears, too, strained attentively.

After walking a few meters, she froze abruptly.

Muffled breathing came from the third tent ahead, faintly audible through the wind—if she hadn’t listened closely, she’d have missed it even walking past.

Gao Yuanyuan’s eyes widened.

Despite her extremely pure appearance, she wasn’t unfamiliar with such things.

One listen, and she knew exactly what was happening inside.

The innate gossip flame in women blazed up instantly—she’d heard rumors of bizarre happenings on set, but never witnessed one.

She swiftly glanced around.

She hesitated, but couldn’t suppress her curiosity.

She held her breath.

And crept forward with utmost caution.

The people inside were desperately suppressing noise, their heavy breaths rising only occasionally.

Most people would never notice.

Gao Yuanyuan noticed a hole the size of a pinky at the tent’s bottom; she lightened her steps further, crouched down with extreme care, and peered inside with a strange smile on her face.

The next moment, her pupils shrank violently.

She clamped both hands over her mouth.

It was!!!

The scene inside shocked her so badly she nearly screamed.

She never expected the usually sunny, handsome Li Luo could have such a side.

He was with a classmate.

On set!

Gao Yuanyuan secretly chuckled—this guy always acted so serious, yet he was playing so wildly!

She’d planned to glance once and leave, but now she couldn’t look away.

The frenzied, storm-like intensity

stunned her inwardly.

She’d heard from the makeup artist that Li Luo had the best physique among all male actors; she’d doubted it before, but now, seeing it firsthand, she believed it without reservation.

And it wasn’t just his physique.

The scale of it.

Unconsciously, she bit her lip hard.

It was terrifying!

For a moment, she forgot everything else.

Her heart pounded wildly in rhythm with what was happening inside, faster and faster.

“Mmm~”

With a low moan,

Gao Yuanyuan’s heart nearly stopped!

She finally snapped back to reality, realizing she’d unconsciously clutched her chest—she was instantly overcome with shame.

She took a slow, deep breath.

Her legs trembling, she stood up and walked away step by step.

“Xiao Xiao!”

Seeing her friend in view, Huang Shengyi waved urgently: “I was just about to go look for you—where did you run off to?”

“To the bathroom.”

Bian Xiaoxiao quickened her pace, panting as she ran over: “This place is like a maze—I got completely lost and had to run all over before finding my way back.”

Beads of sweat glistened on her forehead.

Her cheeks were flushed, clearly from intense exertion.

“You’re so silly!”

Huang Shengyi shook her head and gestured for her friend to follow: “Why didn’t you just ask a crew member?”

“Come on, come on.”

“We should go observe how the set works.”

Confident no one had noticed, Bian Xiaoxiao exhaled deeply, wiped her sweat, happily linked arms with Huang Shengyi, and walked toward the set with radiant energy.

When Li Luo arrived at the set wearing a dull blue outfit,

several classmates were already seated in a corner.

An umbrella shaded their heads.

All of them stared around with wide eyes, scribbling notes in their hands.

The scene was slightly comical.

“Handsome.”

Just as he was about to chat with them, a shout came from afar: “Action! We’ve got something to talk about!”

“Wait a sec.”

Li Luo quickly swallowed a large piece of chocolate.

Then bit into an apple with a crisp crunch.

The two sounds made the classmates all turn their heads at once; Huang Shengyi raised her arm solemnly, her face serious: “Teacher Li, are you about to start filming?”

At this, everyone’s faces twitched with suppressed laughter.

“Go, go, go~”

Li Luo swallowed the apple flesh and said irritably: “You can’t just start filming as soon as you get to the set—there’s tons of prep work needed, especially for martial arts scenes.”

“You guys stay here and watch—I need to go practice moves with the stunt team.”

The group nodded like chicks pecking grain.

Giving Bian Xiaoxiao a subtle eyebrow raise, Li Luo strode toward the stunt team gathered in the center of the set.

“Good timing.”

Yuan Bin demonstrated a posture: “What’s your idea for countering the Shaolin Dragon Claw?”

Since “The Smiling, Proud Wanderer,” he’d grown accustomed to discussing martial arts moves with Li Luo.

He still was.

What if we add Muay Thai into it?

Li Luo bit into the apple, lifted his right knee forward, pressed his left arm down, and gripped his right arm in reverse, standing steady on one foot before them all in a perfect Muay Thai stance.
