Chapter 37: Lita's Room

~7 min read 1,385 words

"Let's wait until tomorrow~"

Yun Mu stretched, then walked quickly back to Sisilaiya Cafe on Liuli Street.

Because she had told Lita and Edward that she would be going out at night, they had lent her the cafe key in advance.

"Huh, why are there water stains here?"

While unlocking the door, she noticed some damp footprints on the ground.

"Could it be a thief?"

Yun Mu became alert in an instant, then she observed carefully for a while, and only after confirming that the cafe's door lock showed no signs of having been pried open did she breathe a slight sigh of relief.

"I'll tell Lita and Edward about this tomorrow," she thought.

Using the key to open the shop door, then locking it again, she followed the stairs up to the second floor of the cafe and returned to her room.

"Time to sleep!"

No matter what she had to do later, at this moment, right now, she just wanted to sleep without worrying about anything.

"Good night."

After lying down, she said to herself.

Heral Calendar year 4243, October 4th.

Early morning, 5:10.

"Is Miss Yun there? Time to get up!" Lita stood outside Yun Mu's room, knocking on the door and calling out with great energy.

She was doing it on purpose, because she knew Yun Mu had gone out late last night and surely hadn't been asleep for very long.

However, to her surprise, not long after she knocked on the door.

Yun Mu, with not a hint of fatigue on her face, pulled the door open.

"Good morning, Miss Lita."

Yun Mu looked at the other's surprised expression and felt a secret thrill.

Although she was currently only a lowest-level Transcendental, she was still a Transcendental.

As long as she rested for four hours, she could reach the level of a normal person resting for eight; if she went to a factory to tighten screws, she could definitely work so hard it would make others curse.

Wait, no, why did she think about going to a factory to tighten screws?

Yun Mu hurriedly shook her head, shaking off these messy thoughts in her mind.

And although Lita was a bit curious about why she looked so energetic, she didn't ask too much, only telling her that breakfast was ready.

"Do we have to eat so early?"

Yun Mu followed Lita from the second-floor stairs of the cafe into the lobby on the first floor and asked.

Before she transmigrated, she was a typical night owl, often staying up until one or two in the morning before sleeping.

Getting up every day was at the earliest ten in the morning; even back when she was in school, for her, getting up at six was already the limit.

"It's not early anymore; after eating, it will be almost time to open for business."

Lita explained to her: "Most of the residents on Liuli Street are office workers; five-thirty to seven in the morning is when most people go to work."

"At that time, many people will come to the cafe to have a cup of coffee or eat breakfast before leaving."

"Our shop sells breakfast too?" Hearing Lita's words, Yun Mu said with some surprise.

"To be precise, it's desserts," Lita raised her left index finger, thought for a moment, and said: "For example, fruit salad, sandwiches, crepes, toasted waffles, and the like; most people order these in the morning."

Having said this, she suddenly thought of something and added in a low voice: "However, I've heard that many female office workers, in order to keep their figures, only drink a cup of coffee for breakfast, cutting out all sweets and egg-milk products."

"I really admire their perseverance; if I miss even one meal a day, I'm so hungry I have no strength at all."

"Because you're a Guard, you have to exercise your body every day; if you don't eat well, how can you replenish your calories?" Yun Mu looked at her and said.

The two of them walked and chatted like this until they reached the kitchen, where Edward had already portioned the prepared breakfast onto the dining table.

Yun Mu smelled the rich aroma of butter in the air, looked at the food on the plate, and immediately cheered up.

She saw two tender, white fried eggs lying quietly on the plate, plus four slices of bacon fried to a golden brown on both sides; on the eggs and bacon, one could even see tiny specks of pepper.

Isn't this bacon and eggs?

Thinking back, the first time she knew of this dish was in a survival game with a zombie background.

Because it looked simple to make, she had once tried to replicate it herself by following a video; as for the taste, let's not go into detail here.

And besides the bacon and eggs, breakfast also included two slices of bread mixed with various grains, and a cup of freshly heated milk.

A little knowledge for every day: milk loses most of its nutrients after being heated.

However, Yun Mu's only requirement for milk was that it tasted good, so she didn't care about such details.

"Mmm."

She took a light taste of the bacon and eggs Edward had made and finally realized that the reason the bacon and eggs she had made back then tasted terrible was perhaps simply because the maker was her, not that there was a problem with the recipe.

Knowing this, she suddenly felt a bit melancholy.

Afterward, she turned this melancholy into appetite and ate the breakfast clean.

While eating, she also took the opportunity to mention the water stains and footprints she had found when she returned last night.

For some reason, Edward's expression looked a bit strange at that moment.

It wasn't that there was anything abnormal, just that based on the impression he had left on Yun Mu before, he seemed like the type of person who rarely showed a serious expression.

Yet at this moment, Edward's expression was tight, and he looked very nervous.

"Could it be some dangerous event that would make even a High-level Transcendent feel nervous?"

Thinking of this, Yun Mu suddenly became a bit nervous as well.

Only Lita, when no one was watching her, gave Edward a speechless look.

Breakfast ended in this strange atmosphere, and after finishing breakfast, Yun Mu was pulled by Lita into her bedroom.

"Sister Lita, let me say this first: I sell my talent, not my body," she said, looking around the environment with some embarrassment.

Lita's room was different from the rooms of most girls; it looked much more minimalist.

Aside from the wooden bed in the corner of the room, there was only a huge wardrobe, a Soft yellow square rug, two desks, one chair, and a bright silver longsword hanging on the wall.

The entire room was cleaned until it was spotless; one could tell that the owner of the room was a person who loved cleanliness.

"What kind of things are you keeping in your head?" Lita glanced at her with annoyance.

She opened the huge wardrobe in the room, then took out a set of black and white female attendant's attire from it.

"This is yours." She handed the attendant's attire to Yun Mu and said.

"Is this a work uniform?" Yun Mu looked at the outfit in her hands, which was somewhat similar to the maid outfits from her past life, and said.

"That's right." Lita nodded and explained: "Actually, Old Man and I had the idea of hiring an employee to help out for a long time, so we prepared work uniforms in various sizes."

"Wear this one for now; if it feels unsuitable, tell me."

After thinking for a moment, she added: "How about a daily wage of 3 Silver Frost Coins?"

Little sister, I actually have money now; you didn't expect that, did you?

Yun Mu thought about the four hundred and fifty Gold Frost Coins stored on her Credit Card, and the corners of her mouth curled up slightly.

"Sure."

She readily agreed.

PS: Out of ideas.

It's mainly because I feel there isn't anything that needs additional explanation.

Then I'll just humbly ask for follow-up reads, monthly tickets, and recommendation tickets.
