Chapter 124

~10 min read 1,875 words

The next day at dawn, the heavy rain had stopped and the sun had come out, though the roads were muddy.

Liu Tianxian got out of the car, yawning, looking utterly drained—she'd been nagged at by that man all night.

The crew members moved about in orderly fashion; with good weather and clear visibility, there was no chaos like last night.

Fortunately, no one had gone missing or been injured.

They had stayed put all along; as long as nature didn't throw a surprise, accidents were unlikely.

Li Rengang, watching from afar how listless Liu Tianxian looked, walked over and said, "Yifei, you've worked hard. Don't worry—I've already contacted the outside world; the road will open soon, and you can leave first."

Last night, this girl helped them move gear, carry supplies, and push the cart—she truly worked hard.

"Yes, Director." Liu Tianxian nodded.

Hard my ass—I was stuck listening to that guy yammer all night. Never seen a man talk so much nonsense before.

He didn't used to talk this much!

Thinking of this, she returned to the car and saw Fang Hong sleeping like a dead pig. She leaned down, studying his sleeping face—he looked like an unconscious child.

"Snore, snore!"

Fang Hong emitted a soft snore, utterly lacking his usual poise.

Liu Tianxian pulled out her phone, bent over, and gently tugged the blanket off him.

Fang Hong seemed to sense it—he shifted slightly!

Liu Tianxian immediately froze her movements, afraid of waking him.

Seeing he stopped moving, she pulled the blanket down a bit more, revealing the women's clothing, and clicked "click, click," snapping several close-ups.

Now, in broad daylight with good lighting and visibility, the photos came out sharp and beautiful.

Liu Tianxian looked at her masterpiece on the phone—Fang Hong looked like an idiot in the pictures—and couldn't help laughing.

She glanced again at the man, slowly crouched down, brought her head close to his, raised her phone high, and winked playfully at the lens.

The two of them in a photo—the moment froze!

"Sister, what are you doing?"

Just as Liu Tianxian finished taking the photo, she heard a familiar voice. She turned to see Fang Hong pulling the blanket back up, as if he'd been violated.

They faced each other, very close.

"N-nothing!"

Liu Tianxian spoke incoherently but calmly tucked her phone away.

"Oh!"

Fang Hong's expression was blank, as if nothing had happened.

Just as Liu Tianxian thought it was over, he grabbed her head and planted a loud "smack!" on her cheek, then boldly tried to kiss her lips.

Liu Tianxian shoved him away and stood up, glaring at him.

"Sorry, I couldn't control myself—don't be mad at me!"

Fang Hong wiped his mouth—he was disappointed he didn't get to kiss her lips.

He'd seen what she was doing, he just didn't say anything. Let her have her fun—then he got to kiss her.

Liu Tianxian wiped her face—thankfully no saliva. He didn't even brush his teeth before going for it—how bold.

Her expression softened: "I'm not mad at you. How could I be mad at you?"

Good, this girl Liu Tianxian was still pretty nice—beautiful and kind-hearted, Fang Hong thought.

"Liar!"

Liu Tianxian's expression suddenly changed—she lifted one leg high, ready to stomp down hard.

Fang Hong, lying on the chair, panicked and rolled sideways.

So fierce—what a waste of words!

Liu Tianxian's foot missed, saw him dodge, and instinctively kicked forward.

"Ow!"

A cry of pain—Fang Hong, sprawled on the ground, cautiously poked his head up to see Liu Tianxian in a full split.

One leg on the chair, one leg on the ground—she'd done a high-difficulty straddle.

Liu Tianxian's mouth hung open, her face twisted in pain—clearly it hurt.

Mainly because she'd overdone the kick—too much force, plus the chair was high, and she couldn't stop herself in time.

"Are you okay?"

Fang Hong scrambled up, gently supporting her waist—no hint of mockery.

"Ow, ow, slow down!" Liu Tianxian cried out.

Could she have torn apart? A man splitting open is imaginable—but a woman? How do you even picture that?

Will this affect her sex life later?

Fang Hong took it seriously—one hand supporting her, the other holding her foot, moving gently: "Come on, slowly bring your leg back."

Liu Tianxian followed his instructions, pulling her leg back a little—and immediately felt better.

Mainly because that kick was too violent. If she'd done it slowly, it wouldn't have happened—she'd studied dance, after all, and could do splits.

But she'd been too busy these past couple years and hadn't practiced—she'd gotten rusty!

"Didn't you study dance? This should be your strength." Fang Hong frowned.

"What's it to you?" Liu Tianxian shot back coldly.

Fang Hong shut up—right now, saying anything got him snapped at.

Other women get sick after getting soaked in the rain, giving men a chance to care for them.

She's full of energy and still tries to beat people up.

He didn't hit anyone but hurt himself, yet still acted all haughty.

Liu Tianxian straightened her body, felt her lower half, and found it wasn't as bad as she'd imagined.

"Are you injured? Do you want me to check you?" Fang Hong looked down at her.

Liu Tianxian slapped him: "Where are you looking? Be serious."

"I'm being serious. This kind of thing can't leave lasting damage—if it affects your ability to have sons later, that'd be bad," Fang Hong said with perfect sincerity.

"Who said I'm having a son? I might have a daughter!" Liu Tianxian raised her voice, slightly agitated.

"I like having sons," Fang Hong said.

"Get lost. Have one yourself."

Liu Tianxian refused to waste more time on his nonsense—the more he talked, the crazier it got.

She took two steps, stumbled, nearly fell, but Fang Hong caught her in time and helped her sit on the seat.

"Look at you—I should buy you some medicine and rub it on you, then I'll feel better," Fang Hong said, concerned.

"Say one more word and I won't speak to you," Liu Tianxian glared.

Her cheeks burned with shame—how embarrassing!

Fang Hong fell silent. Cold silence was pointless—he was just being caring, yet it made him seem like he wanted to do something dirty.

Heaven and earth bear witness!

"Miss Feifei, the road's clear—the director says we should leave first," the Assistant called from outside.

"Alright, I'm coming."

Liu Tianxian replied, then, seeing Fang Hong's wounded expression, sat back down: "Come help me up."

"Oh, I need to change clothes."

Fang Hong was still wearing women's clothing—if he went out like this, his image would be ruined. He looked at Liu Tianxian: "Would you mind turning away?"

"Turn away? Look at me—do I look like I can turn away? What's so special about you that I'd want to look?" Liu Tianxian's last words dripped with disdain.

Fine, you've seen everything—you're not impressed by anything, Fang Hong thought to himself.

He promptly stripped off his top, revealing a muscular chest and a belly without abs.

He wasn't someone who liked exercising.

Seeing her smug look, he flexed his biceps in front of her and teased: "Real man, right?"

"Pfft! I've seen way more than this. Don't show off in front of me."

Liu Tianxian was utterly dismissive, her words cutting.

But inside, she was laughing—Fang Hong's move was so childish, it was impossible not to find amusing.

Still, she knew he was deliberately teasing her.

Tired of her constant teasing, Fang Hong took off his pants. Liu Tianxian immediately turned her head away.

Fang Hong was still wearing his underwear—he hadn't taken them off last night—and showing them now would be too bold, too intimidating, afraid he'd scare her.

Mostly because it was too lewd—their relationship was still too uncertain!

But as he pulled on his pants, Liu Tianxian couldn't help but glance—and saw the tented bulge rising high.

She swallowed hard.

Fang Hong didn't notice. He put on the clothes he'd arrived in—the shirt and short sleeves, all covered in mud.

It didn't matter. Better than having no image at all.

"Here, Miss Liu, let me help you."

Fang Hong bowed slightly. Liu Tianxian haughtily extended one arm to him.

They stepped out of the vehicle together. Many people were digging in the ditch—including firefighters in uniform on the opposite side.

A narrow path had been filled in across the ditch.

People could walk across, but vehicles couldn't pass.

They walked over to Director Li Rengang, where a crowd had gathered—including Feng Shaofeng, the one who later had a child with Zhao Xiaodao.

Several other supporting actors were there too: Li Tianwang, Chen Xiaochun, Zhang Hanyu—they'd already finished shooting and left long ago.

These people glanced at Liu Tianxian, nodded greetings, then turned to Fang Hong beside her.

He looked familiar—but they didn't recognize him.

Liu Tianxian didn't introduce him. No one had spread word about what the Principal looked like.

Li Rengang noticed Liu Tianxian limping and asked: "Yifei, what happened to you?"

"I—"

Liu Tianxian found it hard to explain—she couldn't say she'd hurt herself trying to hit someone and accidentally split her legs.

Actually, she already felt much better—after all, she'd trained—but she was pretending just to make this guy show off.

"He sprained his foot. Can't move well," Fang Hong said calmly.

"Oh!"

Li Rengang glanced at Fang Hong, then said: "The road's clear now, but only pedestrians can pass. You and Shaofeng leave first."

"Alright!" Liu Tianxian asked: "What about you, Director?"

"I can't leave yet. I can't leave all this equipment and crew unattended. But don't worry—rescue teams are already on the way," Li Rengang said.

"Alright, be careful," Liu Tianxian replied politely.

The main actors left the bulk of the crew behind and walked out on foot—but the path was terrible, full of potholes and wet, muddy ground.

They had a dedicated guide—a local assigned to prevent them from getting lost.

Celebrity treatment really was different.

Of course, Fang Hong wasn't even part of the crew—he had to stay to look after Liu Tianxian, so he naturally followed.

Feng Shaofeng asked the instructor ahead: "How far do we have to go?"

"About ten kilometers," the instructor said.

"That far already!"

Feng Shaofeng's face darkened instantly—ten kilometers would take about two hours to walk.

The instructor said nothing; if you don't want to walk, stay here—those who get priority to return and rest have so many complaints.

"Carry me," Liu Tianxian said to Fang Hong.

"It's too far."

Fang Hong didn't want to carry her—it was too far; if it were closer, he'd have been happy to.

He hadn't drunk a drop of water that morning, hadn't slept well last night, and was now sleepy, hungry, and exhausted.

"Sigh, I thought I'd have someone to rely on, but it seems I still have to depend on myself—men are no good."

Liu Tianxian sighed, deeply melancholy and deeply disappointed.

Damn it, Fang Hong knew she was pretending, but he couldn't stand it—he felt like he was useless.

He squatted down in front of her: "Come on."

"I didn't force you, you know!" Liu Tianxian smirked.

"Fine, I'm doing it of my own free will, Miss Liu," Fang Hong said helplessly.
