Chapter 149
Liu Tianxian had been here for several days, watching Fang Hong manipulate public opinion to target Huayi and drive down their stock price.
The entire operation was purely directive—he only instructed the PR and Propaganda Department on what to do, without participating himself.
Liu Tianxian did not stop Fang Hong's actions, only reminded him not to go too far.
This incident essentially forced Huayi to spend more money, damaged their stock price, and affected their project to some extent.
So it didn't cross any red lines.
Fang Hong stood beside her, one hand resting on the table, looking down at her: "Do you want me to go?"
"If you want to go, go—what does it matter what I want?" Liu Tianxian tilted her head slightly, looking utterly baffled.
"You go yourself—I'll just steal the spotlight if I show up." Fang Hong said.
"Hey, you're pretty self-absorbed. Even if you show up, I'm still the center of attention." Liu Tianxian was confident.
Fang Hong smiled, stroking her smooth hair: "Everyone outside already knows who I am. If I show up, it'll just be a flood of gossip—not about my feud with Huayi, but about the plagiarism incident back then, maybe even whether we're dating. The public opinion will get completely off track."
"This is your lead actress drama—I won't go. You take the other actors and handle the promotion."
"We're here to promote the movie—how could it go off track? We just need to coordinate with the host and the production team!" Liu Tianxian stared at him, confused.
"You're naive. Even if you don't go off track, your rivals will make you go off track to bury your movie's brilliance. It's competition by nature—the pie is only so big; the more you take, the less they get." Fang Hong said.
This time, the competitors in the same slot are films from Guangxian and Bona—both masters of promotion. If there's a chance, they'll definitely kick Yu Tu out.
So don't give your rivals any opening—Fang Hong not showing up is best.
After all, he's not the male lead, just a supporting role, and he hasn't even been announced yet—only Liu Tianxian and Li Xian have been revealed as the leads.
"Who's the fool?"
Liu Tianxian lightly tapped his head.
Still, this man was incredibly smart—he thought of everything she hadn't even considered.
"I'm the fool, I spoke wrongly—I'll slap myself." Fang Hong slapped his own mouth.
Liu Tianxian chuckled.
Fang Hong walked over to a cabinet, pulled out a bottle of red wine and two clear crystal wine glasses: "You got nominated for Best Actress at the Golden Horse Awards, and you've been too busy to celebrate properly. Let's celebrate today."
He placed the glasses on the table, uncorked the bottle, and poured the wine.
Watching the red liquid swirl and pour into the glasses, Liu Tianxian sighed—this man truly understood romance, sharing her inner joy with her.
Unlike her mother, who wouldn't even bother talking to her.
"That's it? Just drinking wine?" she said.
"When you win Best Actress, we'll go out for a fancy dinner." Fang Hong said.
"What if I don't win?" Liu Tianxian asked casually.
"If you don't win, keep filming, keep striving—you'll win someday. I believe it."
Fang Hong picked up a glass and handed it to her.
Liu Tianxian took it, clinked her glass against his with a "ting," and raised it: "I believe it too."
This man had faith in her—how could she lack faith? She absolutely had to have faith.
They raised their glasses together. Liu Tianxian downed hers in one gulp, then asked: "Why weren't you nominated for the Golden Horse Awards this time? I thought your acting was great."
"Better than me!" Fang Hong laughed.
"I'm serious—don't joke around with me." Liu Tianxian's expression turned serious.
Fang Hong sat on the edge of the table, looking at her: "I'm only decent at playing certain specific roles—those roles just don't feel out of place."
"So you're only good at playing villains." Liu Tianxian said.
"You could say that—but don't link it to me personally. I'm not actually a bad person." Fang Hong corrected.
"Pfft—who believes that?" Liu Tianxian sneered—he always tried to paint himself in a good light.
Fang Hong leaned forward, close to her: "Then do you believe it?"
"Hmm…" Liu Tianxian paused, then nodded: "I believe you're a good person!"
"You hesitated! That hurts." Fang Hong clutched his chest dramatically.
Liu Tianxian patted his leg: "I'm careful—I have to recall past events. Of course I need to hesitate!"
"Have I ever lied to you?" Fang Hong asked.
"Hmm… actually, no. Hehehe." Liu Tianxian covered her mouth, laughing shyly.
Indeed, this man told her everything, hid nothing from her—this was well done, very genuine.
No matter how he treated others, he was sincere with her.
"Since Miss Liu believes me so firmly, let's have another glass." Fang Hong picked up the bottle.
"Are you trying to get me drunk so you can take advantage?" Liu Tianxian glanced at him sideways.
"It depends on whether you want to get drunk. If you're drunk, I'll seize the chance. If you're not, it means you're not giving me the chance." Fang Hong spoke plainly.
You get drunk, you sleep with you. You don't get drunk, you don't sleep with you. Liu Tianxian understood his meaning perfectly, and was curious: "Then last time I was drunk, why didn't you take advantage?"
"Last time you didn't know what was happening. Doing something while you were unaware would be disrespectful to you. This time I'm warning you in advance—you need to be mentally prepared." Fang Hong said.
"You're surprisingly straightforward." Liu Tianxian smiled.
This quality was good too—open, honest, no tricks, no sneaky moves, just clear communication and respect for her will.
Of course, she'd noticed this long ago—she'd just never brought it up outright until now.
This man didn't know she'd pretended to be drunk back then.
"Being real is better—you're real, I'm real." Fang Hong said.
Liu Tianxian fell silent. Sometimes she wasn't real—she had too many concerns—but her feelings were genuine.
Fang Hong poured her another glass of wine.
Liu Tianxian lifted her glass: "Have you ever blamed me—for imposing restrictions on you?"
"No, everyone has flaws; mine is acting without thinking—if one day I get too full of myself and impulsively kill someone, then—"
"Don't talk nonsense," Liu Tianxian shot him a glare.
"You've helped me make up for my flaw. I owe you thanks," Fang Hong added.
Liu Tianxian smiled; the words sounded pleasant to her ears.
"Ding!"
The two clinked glasses again.
"Alright, I've had my drink—I'm leaving now. Tomorrow I have to wake up early for Propaganda Department duties; there are plenty of announcements lately, and I'll handle them all at once. I'll come back and keep you company next time," Liu Tianxian set down her cup and stood.
"You're leaving already? Don't you want to leave something behind?"
Fang Hong pressed his hand on her shoulder, forcing her back into her seat.
"Then what do you want me to leave?" Liu Tianxian tilted her small head up.
Fang Hong said nothing, wore a sly smile, took her hand, and kissed it, gazing at her deeply.
"Ew, you look just like that—like some old guy hitting on a young girl," Liu Tianxian said with disgust.
"Gross," Fang Hong said.
"Yes, that word fits perfectly—perfect for you right now," Liu Tianxian patted his face with her other hand.
"Forget whether you think it's gross—just tell me, do you want to leave something behind?" Fang Hong said.
"Leave what? You say it!" Liu Tianxian said.
"Leave me your kiss."
Fang Hong moved to kiss her—he was leaving; if he didn't kiss her now, he'd have to wait a long time.
"Aww, I said I don't like being forced," Liu Tianxian stuck one finger between his lips.
"That's so boring—you're leaving, and you won't even let me kiss you?" Fang Hong felt bored.
"Who said I'm boring?"
Liu Tianxian spoke, then wrapped her arms tightly around his neck and pulled him down, tilting her head to kiss him.
Their positions were top and bottom—Fang Hong on top, Liu Tianxian below.
But Liu Tianxian held the initiative, biting wildly; her lip-scent, tooth-scent, and wine-scent flooded Fang Hong's mouth, sweet and delicious.
This kiss was fiercer than the last, because Fang Hong, without hesitation, thrust his tongue in and began wildly stirring.
She couldn't take it, broke away immediately, breathing lightly, glaring at him like she wanted to kill him.
He kept pushing saliva into her mouth—could he not just kiss properly?
"Looks like it's stringing," Fang Hong ignored her murderous gaze and reached to wipe the saliva from her lips.
"Get away, don't make me angry," Liu Tianxian slapped his hand away.
"Don't be mad—I couldn't help myself."
Fang Hong, shameless, said: "Let's do it again—I need to practice."
"Get lost!"
Liu Tianxian wouldn't play along. She stood, grabbed her bag: "I'm leaving. Wait till I come back next time."
"Miss Liu, take care," Fang Hong called after her.
Liu Tianxian turned back, still dissatisfied, and kicked his shin hard—then ran off.
"Aow!"
Fang Hong hopped on one leg, clutching his leg, forced to lean against the wall: "Liu! You're ruthless!"
Liu Tianxian turned again, lifted her chin, and let out a "Hmph," then opened the door and left—didn't care about him at all!
