Chapter 170: Intimate Photo

~9 min read 1,764 words

On the plane, first class.

"Yifei, look!"

Bao Jinjin and Wang Ran sat behind, pointing at the snowy view outside, their little faces full of delight.

Liu Tianxian turned to look out the window; Beijing was blanketed in heavy snow, and from high above, the city looked vast and white, somewhat majestic, prompting her to sigh: "Pretty!"

The plane was now ascending at high speed, growing farther from the ground, offering a panoramic view of all of Beijing.

This flight was a Golden Horse collaboration, heading to Baodao in about three hours.

Fang Hong lay beside Liu Tianxian, sleeping with a book over his face—it was Liu Tianxian's book; she always carried several wherever she went.

She didn't necessarily read them, but she always carried books.

"Really? Yifei, do you like snow?" Bao Jinjin chattered excitedly, especially cheerful.

"I love it, it's so beautiful," Liu Tianxian said, tilting her head to gaze outside.

"I like it too! Let's take a photo together!" Bao Jinjin suggested.

Such a beautiful scene, up here in the sky—it'd be a shame not to capture something.

"Sure!" Liu Tianxian agreed.

Bao Jinjin stood up and moved around; Wang Ran had to shift aside, luckily the seats were spacious.

She walked over to Liu Tianxian's row, saw Fang Hong sleeping, didn't disturb him, and squeezed in beside Liu Tianxian.

Their faces pressed together, heads against the window, they posed a "V" sign for the phone camera, capturing the snowy landscape outside.

Then Liu Tianxian puckered her lips, leaning in to kiss Bao Jinjin's cheek—the moment froze.

Privately, Liu Tianxian was very relaxed, freely kissing and playfully roughhousing with female friends, giving off a comforting vibe.

But Bao Jinjin was a proper girl, not like Zeng.

And their relationship had always been good; Liu Tianxian often sought her out to discuss screenplays and characters she'd written.

The screenwriter knew the characters best.

"Call your boyfriend too, let's take a group photo," Liu Tianxian signaled.

"Wang Ran, come here, let's take a group photo," Bao Jinjin called out behind her.

Liu Tianxian pulled the book off Fang Hong's face and tugged him up: "Come on, let's take a photo."

"You're so lazy," Fang Hong grumbled.

He didn't say "us," only referred to Liu Tianxian, not Bao Jinjin—they were close.

In fact, he'd been aware of all their conversation and movements beside him; he hadn't been sleeping.

Liu Tianxian yanked him over: "Don't be so lazy, get up."

Fang Hong was pulled by Liu Tianxian as Wang Ran walked over.

The four huddled together, the two girls in the middle, smiling and winking, taking a group photo.

"Here, let me take a photo of the two of you."

Bao Jinjin held the phone, positioning Fang Hong and Liu Tianxian side by side, ready to snap their photo.

Wang Ran wisely stepped away, returning to his seat.

"Use my phone," Liu Tianxian handed her phone to Bao Jinjin.

Her phone has better clarity; the photos are saved on her phone, so she can pull them up whenever she wants to look.

"Alright, get ready!"

Bao Jinjin took it, aiming the lens at them.

Liu Tianxian draped her arm over Fang Hong's shoulder, like a brotherly gesture; Fang Hong wore a polite, courteous smile.

"Can't you two be more affectionate? Principal looks like he's doing paperwork, and Yifei, you don't even look like a girl," Bao Jinjin snapped the photo and scolded the two.

"I can't be affectionate with her," Fang Hong said offhandedly.

Liu Tianxian elbowed him, then pinched his chin to turn his face toward her, eyes wide, lips pouted high, pressing them toward his mouth.

She didn't kiss him—just held it there.

"Hahaha!"

Seeing Liu Tianxian like this, Fang Hong couldn't help laughing, like a naive, sweet fool.

"Be serious," Liu Tianxian complained.

"Fine."

Fang Hong, annoyed by her, puckered his lips too, aiming at her mouth—didn't kiss, kept a little distance.

The "intimate photo" froze! Bao Jinjin was satisfied, pulled up the photo for Liu Tianxian to see: "Look, so full of affection."

Liu Tianxian took the phone, looked, then showed it to Fang Hong: "Look at your face, so dumb."

Fang Hong glanced at it—didn't know who was the dumb one?

On the plane, the four chatted and played for a while, then soon arrived at Songshan Airport in Baodao.

The moment they stepped off the plane, they felt a wave of heat—completely different from Beijing's cold air.

Liu Tianxian wore a baseball cap and sunglasses, a dress underneath, and a denim jacket over it, walking with flair.

Fang Hong stood beside her, draped in a wool coat—also Liu Tianxian's—and carried himself with an air of strength.

"Aaaah, Liu Tianxian!"

As the group stepped into the terminal, many fans rushed forward holding signs, and media reporters, like scenting prey, swarmed like a school of fish.

Wang Ran shielded Bao Jinjin as they pushed forward.

Many stars had come here recently, but one of the most prominent was Liu Tianxian, because her film *The Genius Game* had become wildly popular here, earning 22.59 million in box office.

Second only to *Transformers 3*! And *The Genius Game* itself had also launched careers.

Liu Tianxian remained calm, smiling and waving at fans and reporters, radiating a captivating charm.

The scene was noisy, with airport security maintaining order and clearing a path for Liu Tianxian and her group.

The guards were used to it; these days, many stars came here, and countless fans and reporters lay in wait.

Only after the group boarded a business vehicle arranged by the organizers did the airport fall quiet.

They arrived right on time—no time for interviews.

As they got in the car, photos of Liu Tianxian attending the Golden Horse Awards quickly spread across the two shores and Hong Kong, including parts of Southeast Asia.

Fans and moviegoers saw Liu Tianxian; film industry bigwigs saw the people beside her—the Principal!

The Principal had finally reappeared after several months; seeing him in person was rare.

The Golden Horse Awards were held at the Performing Arts Hall of the Hsinchu City Cultural Bureau, on Beida Road in the city center, where one could see the local scenery and customs along the way.

The Golden Horse ceremony began at 5 p. m., with the red carpet walk starting two hours earlier, and the awards ceremony at 7 p. m.

The chair of this year's Golden Horse judging panel was Zhang Aijia; the other judges weren't known—no one recognized them—but one person was especially familiar: Huang Bo.

This man was a regular at the Golden Horse Awards in this era, coming every year, either as a judge or host.

This was the prestige boost he received—offers flooded in; he could make five or six films a year, truly the film industry's darling. In the original timeline, Bai Baihe had little reputation in film, but after "Lost in Love 33 Days" became a hit and she won the Golden Horse for Best Actress, she too became the film industry's darling.

This was how honor worked—people recognized it!

Although Liu Tianxian had no honors, her films could still explode, and many scripts still reached her hands.

For example, Emperor Entertainment in Hong Kong offered her a script called "The Disappearing Bullet," wanting her to play the female lead and capitalize on the momentum to sell the film early to Southeast Asian distributors.

In the original timeline, this script was given to Bai Baihe.

Thus, Fang Hong's butterfly effect had changed many things; what Hong Kong's film industry once denied Liu Tianxian was now being offered.

Then again, Yang Shoucheng should have had some connection with Liu Tianxian before—introduced by Fang Long—but it seemed they had never collaborated.

Liu Tianxian didn't speak, and Fang Hong didn't ask—he merely harbored doubts, recalling Liu Tianxian's past.

As his strength grew stronger, he would soon begin encountering many things, inevitably touching on Liu Tianxian's former secrets.

In the car, Liu Tianxian took off her denim jacket, revealing the full length of her dress—its style was indescribable, but it was undeniably beautiful, elegant and stunning.

Liu Tianxian took out a compact mirror and applied makeup, grooming herself; arriving on-site with no makeup would look bad.

"You really know how to save effort—wearing the same outfit all the way from Beijing without changing." Fang Hong complained.

Liu Tianxian powdered her face and replied casually, "So what? You've got a problem with it?"

"No, I dare not have a problem." Fang Hong spread his hands.

Liu Tianxian turned to look at him and swept powder toward his face with her puff; Fang Hong instinctively leaned back—he was used to this sudden attack.

But her action filled the car with powder dust.

Behind them, Bao Jinjin pretended not to see; the two of them were also lost in their own sweet affection.

These two were ordinary people; they didn't need to care about appearances.

"This was provided by the sponsor—it's a hassle to transport, and it's a hassle to take off and put back on."

Liu Tianxian pinned up her hair and explained, "Probably just walking the red carpet—I don't even know if I'll get on stage."

"You've got no confidence about winning." Fang Hong said.

"Of course I have no confidence—I'm up against Ye Dexian, Qin Hailu, Shu Qi; I've got no confidence against any of them." Liu Tianxian counted off on her fingers.

She had self-awareness; she knew exactly her own level and understood she was just there as a runner-up.

Still, just being invited gave her a little hope.

"That won't do—you still need dreams. What if you win?" Fang Hong encouraged.

"Exactly—being nominated proves you're amazing; there's still a chance." Bao Jinjin also encouraged.

"I know, thank you."

Liu Tianxian glanced back and added, "Of course I want to win—but winning on my first try feels unrealistic."

She was clear-headed.

"Actually, you don't need to take it so seriously—it's just an award; it doesn't prove anything. You're still you, whether you win or not." Fang Hong spoke indifferently.

The Golden Horse meant nothing to him—he already knew its future fate, so he was just here for the spectacle; he'd never attended in the original timeline.

As they chatted, the car quickly arrived at the parking lot of the Hsinchu City Cultural Bureau Performing Arts Hall for the Golden Horse; the red carpet had already been laid, and crowds of fans held signs on both sides.

Especially when Liu Tianwang passed by, the cheers rose and fell in waves, turning the scene into a sea of red.
