Chapter 203: Miss, Please Conduct Yourself with Dignity
After fooling around for a while, the behind-the-scenes crew of "The Four Great Constables" had already set up the scene, and filming continued.
Liu Tianxian was filming all day today; late at night they would take a plane to France, so they could sleep on the plane for one night.
It takes 12 hours to get to France, so this way they could catch up on sleep, and the next day would be daytime, perfect for handling business directly.
It could be said that Fang Hong had arranged things very well.
At this moment, Fang Hong sat down in Liu Tianxian's chair, which had a parasol above it, and behind it were a cushion and a blanket, so he could rest when tired.
The assistant and the rest had all gone to attend to Liu Tianxian's filming, so there wasn't anyone here.
Passing crew members, extras, and actors would all take a few extra glances at Fang Hong, only because they had heard he was the legendary "Young Master Zhao" and "Principal."
Young Master Zhao was the character in the movie; the Principal was the rumored badass figure.
Kicked Huayi, punched Bona — that was him! This was already public gossip; it was the Hong Kong crew, after all, and gossiping about others carried no psychological burden.
Besides, these people were just looking, they wouldn't come up to greet him; they had no particular goodwill toward the Principal, nor any particular ill will.
Because it had nothing to do with them.
Fang Hong didn't care about the strange gazes from the people around; beside his seat were books and a handbag, as well as some snacks.
He casually tore open a pack of biscuits, popped them in his mouth, then picked up the handbag beside him, unzipped it, and rummaged through it.
Inside were small items: a phone — this was Liu Tianxian's personal phone — as well as sanitary pads, sunglasses, a face mask, a water bottle, a makeup mirror, and the like.
There was a makeup mirror but no lipstick or other makeup cosmetics; she usually didn't wear makeup.
Fang Hong took out the makeup mirror, held it to his face, and looked left and right: "Damn, I'm handsome again — how are other people supposed to live?"
Some extras watched from afar as Fang Hong casually rifled through Liu Tianxian's handbag and personal belongings, whispering among themselves.
This was definitely Liu Tianxian's lover.
Only because Liu Tianxian's seat wasn't one just anyone could sit in — at least in this crew, no one had ever sat there, since one had to avoid suspicion — yet this man just sat down casually; if that wasn't a lover, what was it?
They figured he must have already had a fling with her; thinking of this, some extras felt a chill in their hearts — their goddess had been screwed.
Who knew how many times she'd been screwed; instantly they felt a sense of having nothing left to live for.
Fang Hong didn't know others were gossiping about him; after being narcissistic for a moment, he put the makeup mirror back in the handbag, zipped it up, then picked up the book beside him and had a look.
The book was in a foreign language, but the cover also had Chinese characters.
It showed it was a French-language study book; he casually flipped open a page, and inside were dense Chinese annotations.
"Didn't they say she knows French? Why is she still reading this kind of book?" he muttered, then put it down again.
He couldn't understand a single word inside; he was a born language idiot.
"Mr. Principal, we meet again."
Just as Fang Hong was bored, idly rummaging through Liu Tianxian's personal belongings, Jiang Jianzhu walked over to his side with a sycophantic smile.
That big mouth of hers, when she smiled, stretched into an especially long arc.
"Have we met?" Fang Hong's face showed puzzlement, as if he had forgotten the previous matter.
In truth, he just didn't want to chat with her, didn't want to blabber with her; if she were smart, she'd hear it right away.
Jiang Jianzhu's expression turned slightly awkward, but she still brazenly pressed on: "Perhaps Mr. Principal, being a busy man, forgets easily; we chatted just last year."
"Oh!" Fang Hong said flatly.
Jiang Jianzhu dragged over a small stool, sat at his feet, slightly raised her head, that fawning look completely different from her demeanor last year.
Last year she hadn't understood, hadn't known the situation, hadn't known the specific identity; this year she knew.
To her, this was someone with capital.
"Principal, haven't you been filming recently?"
As she spoke, she placed her hand on Fang Hong's leg.
"No." Fang Hong watched that hand slowly moving upward, leaving a trail of heat wherever it passed.
"If there's a role, you can come to me — I'm a very good actress." Jiang Jianzhu wore an ambiguous smile.
Yet that hand was still moving upward, about to reach the base; how could Fang Hong stand it — he was still a hot-blooded young man.
So he simply flung her hand away.
"Miss Jiang, please conduct yourself with dignity." Fang Hong said.
"It's fine, I won't tell Tianxian, she won't find out, so don't worry." Jiang Jianzhu said softly.
She believed all men were lecherous.
Liu Tianxian wouldn't know right now, but so many people were watching; the crew had many eyes and ears, idle gossip was unavoidable.
Allegedly this woman had also seduced Deng Chao, provoked the Empress, forcing the Empress, who was heavily pregnant, to come to the set to tear into her and put Deng Chao in his place.
It was only alleged, though.
"I'm not interested in you." Fang Hong made it clear.
"You don't need to be interested in me; we each take what we need, that's fine." Jiang Jianzhu also spoke plainly.
This woman was getting clingy; Fang Hong said in a low voice: "You didn't understand what I meant — what I mean is, I'm not interested in people who aren't clean."
"What?!" Jiang Jianzhu didn't quite catch it.
"I'll say it once more — I'm not interested in people who aren't clean, so don't waste your time on me." Fang Hong said.
"I'm not clean?" Jiang Jianzhu pointed at herself.
She was deeply hurt inside, as if she had taken ten thousand points of critical damage — this person actually called her unclean, called her dirty.
"What do you think?" Fang Hong's meaning was very clear.
"You think Liu Tianxian is clean? We're all in the same circle — who doesn't know who, who can be cleaner than whom?" Jiang Jianzhu was somewhat losing her composure.
She spoke without thinking, dragging Liu Tianxian down as unclean along the way.
"I'll treat what you said as fart talk; I won't bother arguing with you." Fang Hong's expression was cold.
"Back when she was in the Hong Kong circle, with Emperor Entertainment, with Fang Long..."
"Slap!"
Before Jiang Jianzhu could finish, Fang Hong backhanded her across the face, the motion dashing and suave.
The gossips squatting not far from the set saw it.
They all couldn't help but glance sideways, exchanging looks, their eyes full of bewilderment, not knowing what had happened.
But some people had a rough idea — Jiang Jianzhu had never behaved herself on set.
Either seducing this one, or flirting with that one! This time she'd kicked a steel plate. Jiang Jianzhu was left dumbfounded by the slap, covering the half of her face that had been hit, on the verge of tears from the grievance.
But it also woke her up — she'd just been running her mouth, saying right in front of the guy's boyfriend that his girlfriend wasn't clean.
"Get lost!" Fang Hong bit down hard on that word.
"I'm sorry!"
Jiang Jianzhu got up, bowed, said her piece, and left.
She still had some sense — she knew she couldn't afford to offend him; if he dug up dirt on her, he could bury her for good, she had no way to fight back.
Besides, being slapped in front of everyone — how could she have the face to stay here, as if she wasn't embarrassed enough.
Fang Hong didn't bother stooping to the woman's level. He knew perfectly well about Liu Tianxian's little matter — did he need anyone to come tell him? "Why did you just hit Jiang Jianzhu?"
After the shoot, Liu Tianxian walked up and asked.
Clearly she'd heard people on set gossiping. Actually Deng Chao had heard too, but he could only pretend he hadn't and stay silent — he wasn't clean himself, so how could he go over there.
Director Chen Jiashang heard it too but didn't intervene — the man was at Wang Zhangtian's level, beyond his reach.
"She deserved it," Fang Hong said.
"Did she try to seduce you?" Liu Tianxian asked.
"How did you know," Fang Hong said.
"If she did something wrong, talk to her properly. Hitting someone out of nowhere like that isn't right," Liu Tianxian started lecturing.
She assumed Jiang Jianzhu had been trying to seduce Fang Hong.
"Think I'm wrong then, fine," Fang Hong couldn't be bothered to explain, and it wasn't easy to explain.
One explanation would drag up a lot of old history.
Liu Tianxian's expression was helpless — once this man got stubborn, she really didn't know what to do with him.
But she wasn't angry either; being able to resist temptation was a good thing.
"Principal, someone's here to see you."
Just as the two were chatting, a crew member came to call.
It was probably Cai Yirong who'd arrived — pretty fast. Fang Hong stood up and said to Liu Tianxian, "You get some rest."
Liu Tianxian didn't listen to him; instead she followed along, stopping at a distance to watch.
She had a grudge against Cai Yirong and didn't really want to interact with the man, so she didn't step forward.
The set's gossips all turned their eyes that way.
"General Manager Cai, what an honor — I've failed to greet you from afar, my apologies, my apologies," Fang Hong called out warmly from a distance.
Anyone who didn't know better would think he was the weaker party.
Cai Yirong had come with Liu Sisi! Seeing this person for the first time, their hearts couldn't help but waver.
Mainly because Cai Yirong had been so arrogant before, saying "if you've got the guts, come at me" — who would've thought the guy actually did it, a bit hard to handle.
"Principal, how about we find somewhere else to talk."
"Right here is fine. Going somewhere else would cost General Manager Cai money — I'm not one for socializing, and I don't like fancy fuss."
Fang Hong spoke casually, but there was meaning behind his words. He glanced at the legendary Liu Sisi.
She really was pure and pretty.
This girl — he couldn't tell if she was looking at him or somewhere else, her eyes seemed off.
"Fine, I came because I want the Principal to show mercy, let us off the hook, let us finish filming 'Heaven's Mark.'"
Cai Yirong glanced at Liu Tianxian not far behind, then looked away.
A bit embarrassed — never thought there'd be a day he'd have to beg this person, couldn't quite keep face.
"I don't know what you're talking about," Fang Hong's face changed again.
Back when he'd gone to find Cai Yirong, the other side had played dumb with exactly this attitude.
"Why must the Principal be like this? I've come in person, can't we just talk openly?" Cai Yirong knew the other man wouldn't be so kind — he'd definitely make things difficult.
"What kind of open?" Fang Hong said.
"Just say what you want, what conditions you want," Cai Yirong said.
"Whatever I want, you can deliver? I want you to slap your own face — will you?" Fang Hong said offhandedly.
"Slap!"
Cai Yirong was decisive — he gave his own face a hard slap.
The slap was crisp, stunning the onlookers in the distance. Two faces slapped in one day — even though this one was Cai Yirong's own doing, it still got tallied against Fang Hong.
Actually Cai Yirong had no choice — if this dragged on, with her strength she simply couldn't bear it.
So much money lost every day — one slap was nothing.
"Sister Cai!" Liu Sisi hurriedly tried to stop her from the side.
This sudden self-slapping left her utterly bewildered too.
Liu Tianxian couldn't hear what they were saying from a distance, but she stayed fairly composed.
This was something this man really could do.
"Sigh, look at you — I was just saying it casually, how could you go and slap yourself?" Fang Hong said, dripping with sarcasm.
"As long as the Principal will stop, let alone a slap, even if it's—"
"Ahem!"
Fang Hong gave a heavy cough, knowing what she was about to say next — most likely that Liu Sisi should keep him company.
Being able to bring this girl over here was itself a sign of that intention.
He walked over beside Cai Yirong, shoulder to shoulder facing opposite directions, so they could talk a little closer without inviting gossip.
"Your scenes will be filmed on schedule. Let Jiang Jinfu's matter slide — if he wants to leave, let him leave. As for what happens after that, handle it however you see fit."
He didn't want to sue that man over it — a waste of money.
But a promise was a promise: let Jiang Jinfu leave Tangren peacefully. As for how Tangren dealt with the man afterward—
whether it was the dark path or the knife's edge, he didn't care.
That made Jiang Jinfu a discarded piece.
