Chapter 214: Female Violent Aesthetics
During filming, the entertainment industry's "Zhao-Zhen war" showed no signs of stopping, with more and more celebrities getting involved.
It also grew more and more heated. Among them, Shu Qi taking Yuzhou Dan's side was fiercely scolded by Wangyi. Yao Dazui said she felt sorry for Shu Qi, and Wangyi gave her the nickname "Yao Heartache"! Shu Qi went to the park to cry, Feng Kuzi felt heartache again and raged on Weibo: "What do you want?"
In this era, Feng Kuzi was very arrogant — open his mouth and he'd lose his temper and curse, without any logic or emotion.
Don't think too highly of these people's character.
Feng Kuzi entered the fray, and Wangyi nicknamed him "Whisper Guard"! This made Feng Kuzi so angry that he went down to argue with Wangyi.
Most Wangyi sided with Zhao Wenzhuo. As you can imagine, every Wangyi in the world knows what the Hong Kong circle is like — nothing good about it.
No way around it — Neidi film and TV people have been bullied for too long; it's no longer any secret.
Even Jing Tian couldn't stand it and sided with Zhao Wenzhuo, but she heard the script was changed for her sake, so she shut up.
This girl is still too naive! This matter won't die down anytime soon — there's plenty to fight about, at least half a year. Liu Tianxian's melon can't stir up waves for now.
In mid-April, Beijing was gradually getting hotter; one could wear short-sleeved shirts.
"Lucy 1" crew, during a break in filming.
Liu Tianxian wore a plain knit sweater and jeans, held a script in her hands, had a lollipop in her mouth, but her brows were furrowed.
"This is way too hard to act — harder than when I did 'Bad Genius.'" Liu Tianxian scratched her head.
Back then, for Bad Genius, just putting on an aura was enough.
She was referring to the scene filmed earlier, where her adoptive mother was kidnapped and the enemy forced her to admit her identity.
Going from a little white rabbit to a fierce state — there's a lot of emotional expression in between; just thinking about it is hard.
"Hard is good, isn't it? You can break through yourself. If you act it well, you might become Best Actress and take off." Fang Hong stood nearby, watching the crew members coming and going.
Some were working, some were resting.
"Last time you said the same thing — act it well and it'll be a god-tier work. You just love coaxing me." Liu Tianxian sucked on her lollipop.
"I wasn't coaxing you. Just take Bad Genius — isn't that a god-tier work?" Fang Hong looked at her.
"The movie is god-tier, I'm not."
After saying that, Liu Tianxian laughed self-deprecatingly, laughing at herself for being pretty mediocre.
That film did have huge impact both domestically and overseas — a landmark work. That was the script's success; to say how well she acted, you can't look too closely.
It was a feel-good movie to begin with — no pressure on the lead.
This one is also a feel-good movie, but it does put pressure on the lead, so the two are fundamentally different.
"No worries, progress bit by bit — there'll be a day you reach god-tier. When that day comes, I'll set off firecrackers to celebrate, canonize you as a goddess, free from 'Heavenly Fairy.'" Fang Hong joked.
"Bullshit."
Liu Tianxian was cursing, but she was laughing happily.
She ate her lollipop, rested her hand on Fang Hong's leg, leaned close, and gazed at him with a flower-like smile.
Fang Hong was baffled: "Why are you looking at me like that?"
"Looking at how handsome you are!" Liu Tianxian took the lollipop out of her mouth and held it up to his lips.
"I know that." Fang Hong opened his mouth to bite, but bit empty air.
"Hehe!" Liu Tianxian laughed and pulled her hand back, then held it out to his lips again.
Fang Hong looked at her speechlessly and bit again; Liu Tianxian pulled her hand back once more, letting him bite empty air again.
"Giggle giggle giggle" — she laughed like a little girl, as if it were great fun.
"Are you that bored?" Fang Hong was utterly speechless.
Liu Tianxian laughed happily and held the lollipop out to his lips again: "No more teasing, here, you can have it."
Fang Hong looked at her seriously, bit again, and bit empty air once more.
"Hahahaha!" Liu Tianxian was clearly overjoyed.
Fang Hong couldn't take it anymore. He stood up, grabbed her hand, and forcefully shoved the lollipop into her mouth.
Liu Tianxian was caught off guard, and the lollipop was stuffed into her own mouth.
He even pushed it in and out a few times — very rough, not the slightest bit tender or considerate.
She couldn't take it and kicked Fang Hong in the shin, kicking him away.
"Feel good now?" Fang Hong laughed.
"Get lost!"
Liu Tianxian glared at him — so rough.
But she didn't overthink it; she just felt this man was crude and it was fun messing around.
Fang Hong, however, was shaking with laughter.
"You're laughing." Liu Tianxian suddenly stood up.
Fang Hong got a scare and quickly dodged: "You laughing is fine, me laughing isn't — isn't that too domineering of you!"
"Of course not. Your laughter is built on my suffering." Liu Tianxian kept a straight face.
"Aren't you also built on my suffering?"
Fang Hong was just about to say this line when he was interrupted by Lu Dabo running over.
"Principal, there's a matter to report."
"What matter?" Fang Hong turned to look at him.
"Zuoshandiao is outside requesting an audience." Lu Dabo said.
"Requesting an audience? You didn't block him outside, did you?" Fang Hong was surprised — he hadn't seen anyone come in.
Liu Tianxian sucked on her lollipop, her expression also turning solemn. That person's status — he's a big shot in the industry. She'd met Lu Dabo a few times: logistics supervisor, and the crew's security was also managed by him.
But she didn't know exactly what relationship this person had with Fang Hong, just assuming the man was capable and this was a normal work arrangement.
"Didn't you say closed-set filming, no unrelated personnel allowed into the crew? I'm just seriously carrying out your orders." Lu Dabo said.
"You've taken this order too far—you need to look at the person. Don't you dare keep them out any longer." Fang Hong pushed him aside.
Zuoshandiao was outside the crew, accompanied by La Peikang, future Chairman of China Film Group; Han Xiaoli, General Manager of the Shuzi Zhizuo Jidi and Deputy Chairman of China Film Group.
These three had come to visit the set, never expecting to be turned away at their own place.
This was the first time any crew had blocked them.
But every crew has its own rules; they didn't use their status to pressure anyone and simply waited outside.
"Chairman Han, greetings—I'm terribly sorry for not meeting you sooner, my apologies." Fang Hong hurried over from afar.
Behind him followed Chen Sicheng, Wen Muye, Liu Tianxian, Song Jia, Xie Miao, and a crowd of crew and actors.
"Your crew is really strict!" Zuoshandiao, seeing the arrivals, walked toward the set himself.
This time no one blocked them, but their words still carried a hint of displeasure—after all, their authority had been challenged.
"Lately the reporters have been unbearable, and with our tight schedule, I simply can't afford delays—so we've sealed the set and kept outsiders out."
Fang Hong continued: "You came without even notifying me—I could've come to pick you up."
This remark sounded pleasant, easing Zuoshandiao's irritation; the other two also smiled.
Zuoshandiao chuckled and introduced the two beside him: "This is La Peikang, Deputy Director of the Film Bureau; Han Xiaoli, Director of China Film Group—he oversees this Shuzi Zhizuo Jidi."
At this stage, La Peikang had not yet come over to China Film Group.
Then he joked to the two: "Little Fang—known as the Principal—famous far and wide. No need for me to introduce him, right?"
"You flatter me—I'm just a junior."
Fang Hong extended his hand and shook theirs: "Director La, General Manager Han."
"Don't be modest—you're already doing very well."
La Peikang had a dignified appearance, his face stern and expressionless, very serious.
Unlike Zuoshandiao's cheerful demeanor.
After the three had greeted and introduced themselves, Fang Hong began introducing his team.
"Chen Sicheng!"
"Wen Muye!"
"Liu Tianxian!"
"."
He introduced them one by one, and the main creative team of The Superbody 1 shook hands with the three leaders.
All looked deeply respectful—given their current status, they would never normally meet these three.
But Liu Tianxian remained composed and unflustered; she had seen many such people.
"Good—very young team," Zuoshandiao said, nodding at the group.
Lately, the rivalry between this side and that side has been fierce; the film industry needs new directors to sustain the market.
Directors of Feng Kuzi, Lao Mouzi, Chen Daren, and their generation simply cannot hold up the film market.
In short—they need fresh blood.
Yutu is the company with the most fresh blood; even without Fang Hong, Guo Fan, Wang Ran, Wen Muye, Chen Sicheng, and Xue Xiaolu are all directors who just emerged from Yutu.
Even Zuoshandiao's own daughter works as a producer at Yutu.
"Young people have energy, active minds, daring ideas and bold shooting," Fang Hong invited the three into the crew.
The whole group followed behind, the scene like a senior leader conducting an inspection.
But their status was certainly worthy of it.
Zuoshandiao glanced around and asked casually: "So what kind of film are you shooting here?"
"Sci-fi elements, a strong female lead—about mutated bio-engineered humans. I named it The Superbody!" Fang Hong explained.
"Few directors in the film industry shoot strong female lead films—you seem quite skilled at it. Tell me your insights," Zuoshandiao recalled that Fang Hong had directed The Genius Girl and Three Thirty Days of Heartbreak.
"I believe women possess unique charm. Take Liu Tianxian—she embodies multiple traits: she can be commanding, delicate, or sophisticated."
With refined styling and agile movements, she can portray the aesthetics of female violence; as a delicate woman, she conveys subtle emotion.
When combined, emotion and action reveal the character's inner world and combat prowess, along with her distinctive charm—visually, this is inherently attractive.
This beauty and quality are absent in male actors and most other female actors.
Like Anne Hathaway and Scarlett Johansson in Hollywood—they've unlocked the unique charm women hold on screen, allowing men to appreciate it."
Fang Hong went on a wild rant.
Zuoshandiao couldn't help glancing back at Liu Tianxian; the other two leaders also unconsciously sized her up.
Other crew members turned to look at her too.
No wonder the Principal keeps casting her—she has so much charm? How did no one notice? Under so many eyes, Liu Tianxian felt embarrassed; she didn't even know she had so many strengths or so much allure—Fang Hong had never told her.
"As directors, we must uncover an actor's unique quality and magnify it—again and again," Fang Hong added.
Zuoshandiao nodded—he didn't quite understand, and he hadn't noticed any special quality in Liu Tianxian.
Maybe he was just old; his eye for people wasn't as sharp as the young ones'.
