Chapter 41: Want to Get Rich?
Seeing the staff persistently harassing him, Fang Hong punched him down!
Then, without further hesitation, he looked at the row of power strips filled with plugs, unsure which one powered the fan, so he yanked them all out, not leaving a single one!
"Whoosh!"
The entire crew suddenly lost power, even the director's monitor went dark.
"Why did the power go out?"
"What's going on? Electrician! Electrician!"
"Go check what's happening backstage."
"."
The crew immediately descended into chaos; several staff members ran toward the backstage area to investigate.
Upon arriving backstage, they saw a man spit on the ground at a writhing, moaning person.
Then the man didn't even glance at the approaching group; he quickly passed by them without stopping.
This left them utterly baffled; when they turned back, the man was already far away.
Fang Hong paid no more attention to anything else and ran back to the set; all the blowers had stopped spinning, and Liu Tianxian lay helpless in the red cage, with no one to tend to her.
He opened the cage, stepped inside, and lifted her up—but halfway through, she cried out:
"Don't move, it hurts!"
Her small face was twisted in pain, expression unbearable!
Fang Hong saw that a strand of her hair was still tangled in the blower's blades, and the fan was pressed right against the cage, extremely close.
He gently held that strand of hair, twisted it several times, and finally freed it from the blades.
The moment the hair came loose, Liu Tianxian felt much lighter—but her scalp still throbbed from the pull.
Fang Hong asked softly: "Are you alright?"
"I'm fine."
Liu Tianxian pushed herself up, touched the injured spot on her head, felt better, and looked at Fang Hong: "Thank you."
"Glad you're okay!"
Fang Hong's tone carried concern, his eyes revealed tenderness, yet inside he couldn't believe he'd just played the hero saving the beauty—how embarrassing!
Liu Tianxian met his gaze, her heart subtly stirred, then she looked away, refusing to look at this man.
Just then, the crew's power suddenly restored.
No equipment was damaged—only the plugs had been pulled.
"Hey! Why did you hit someone and pull out all our plugs, cutting our power?"
The same staff members returned with the man who'd been beaten, looking furious.
Clearly, they'd come to demand an explanation.
Other crew members gathered around, even Director Ye Weixin and Heigu stood at the front.
Clearly, they all knew Fang Hong was responsible.
Hearing this, Liu Tianxian now understood the full story—it was this man who pulled the plugs to save her.
She shuddered at the thought—if he hadn't acted in time, her scalp might have been ripped off!
"The situation was urgent, I had no choice. If I delayed your filming, I can only apologize," Fang Hong said.
"One apology is enough? Who pays for the lost work?" Ye Weixin pointed at him, voice displeased.
Cutting power to the entire crew, disrupting so many devices, delaying filming—just saying sorry? How bold of you!
"That—"
Fang Hong was about to speak when Liu Tianxian stopped him.
She stepped forward and explained: "Director, my hair got caught in the fan just now. Thanks to him. If this needs to be pursued, let it be on me."
This girl actually has backbone.
Hearing this, the crew members exchanged glances, eyes filled with shock.
If her scalp had been torn off—unthinkable!
Ye Weixin's expression changed: "Are you alright?"
"I'm fine now, already much better," Liu Tianxian pressed her hand against the sore spot.
"Will it affect the next shoot?"
Ye Weixin still cared most about the filming schedule.
"No, I just need to rest a bit," Liu Tianxian said.
"Good. Then rest."
Ye Weixin sighed in relief, then turned: "Everyone, disperse. Don't crowd here. Props team, be more careful—don't hurt anyone."
Now that it was clear, this had nothing to do with Fang Hong—on the contrary, he'd done them a favor.
Hair getting caught in the fan was the crew's negligence; if something happened, the crew would be liable and face serious trouble—Fang Hong helped them avoid it.
The crew members dispersed in small groups, murmuring.
Only the beaten man glared at Fang Hong with bitter resentment—he'd taken the hit for nothing.
Hong Kong people are so arrogant; they didn't even say "thank you" to Fang Hong before walking off.
Fang Hong didn't care—if he worried about everything, he'd die of exhaustion.
He helped Liu Tianxian leave the set; the Assistant brought two chairs, and they sat down in a quiet spot.
Liu Tianxian still wore traces of pain, rubbing her head.
Seeing her like this, this was the perfect moment to act—Fang Hong asked gently: "Should I take you to the hospital?"
"No need, it's nothing serious!" Liu Tianxian shook her head and refused.
"Are you still in pain? I'll go buy you some medicine." Fang Hong stood up to leave.
"No, no need." Liu Tianxian reached out to stop him: "Sit down. I'm already much better. I don't need anything."
One cared, the other guarded—this was how they were.
This girl was just like this: even if she felt something, she gave no feedback at all, and her attitude had become much more polite!
Fang Hong sighed inwardly—who said saving a beauty meant she'd give herself to you? It was all lies!
He'd only been testing the waters!
After resting, Liu Tianxian returned to filming.
"You have a kissing scene with Yifei this afternoon. Get ready."
"Got it. I know."
At that moment, two people passed by Fang Hong, and he overheard this conversation.
He turned to look—it was an assistant director and Yu Shaoqun!
Yu Shaoqun was the one playing Ning Caichen.
He had a handsome face, with a babyish look.
What a good girl she used to be—now all the dramas she took were nothing but kissing scenes.
Fang Hong had no choice; he'd chosen his own partner, so he had to protect her. He went to find the set assistant—the person who handed out lunch boxes.
Meal service was usually managed by the production coordinator, but the coordinator only handled contracts—whether meals came from a hotel or a restaurant, what kind of meals were served.
They didn't handle the actual distribution of lunch boxes!
Some crews didn't distribute lunch boxes at all—you had to get them yourself. Others did, and this crew did: it was the set assistant's job—the guy who did odd jobs.
There were usually many set assistants: large crews had thousands, small ones had dozens.
Fang Hong had been here two days and knew who handed out the lunch boxes, so he walked straight toward that person.
"Hey, brother!"
He slapped the man on the shoulder.
The man looked young, probably in his twenties—odd jobs required people who could take a beating and carry weight.
The man turned, puzzled: "What do you want?"
"I've got a big business proposition for you."
Fang Hong pulled the man aside to a quiet spot, acting furtive.
"What kind of big business?"
The set assistant was intrigued—people in his line of work wanted as much work as possible, or else when the crew disbanded, he'd have to find new jobs.
Fang Hong placed a hand on his shoulder and asked: "What's your name?"
"Lu Dabo!" the man said.
"Good name." Fang Hong complimented him, then pointed to himself: "Do you know who I am?"
"No." Lu Dabo shook his head.
Good—looks like these people had been filming here nonstop and hadn't had time to watch Those Years. Even if they had watched, they might not have recognized him—movies had filters, reality didn't.
"Want to get rich?" Fang Hong asked again.
"Yes, but I won't do anything illegal."
Lu Dabo was afraid of being scammed—there were too many con artists these days, and this guy didn't look trustworthy; he'd just unplugged the entire crew's power.
