Chapter 60: I
Little stars are too easy to handle—no effort needed at all; with Huayi's current scale, just leaking a bit of resources is enough.
"Heart Technique," "Happiness Knocks," "Zhan Changsha"—those are the dramas Huayi provided for her.
Fang Hong can't offer these quality projects now; after this collaboration, who knows if there'll be a next time? Even dogs know how to choose!
"If you're not leaving, then shoot properly."
Fang Hong still wanted to talk reasonably, mainly because he couldn't find a replacement right away.
"Unless you agree to my demands, I won't shoot!" said Yang Zi.
"Hmph!" Fang Hong smiled discontentedly.
He knew celebrities faced lots of chaos, and rival companies often schemed behind the scenes, but he never expected it to keep happening to him one after another.
When he picked Yang Zi, he thought her acting was decent and her image suitable.
The crew members around watched, and they were all quite displeased with this woman—they'd all been through this, yet she wanted special treatment.
They just thought female stars were spoiled, had great looks, and came from good families, so they acted unreasonable.
They never thought deeper!
Liu Tianxian said nothing—this man had arrived, so it was no longer her affair.
"What are you laughing at?" Yang Zi demanded.
"You leave. You wanted to terminate the contract—I'll let you go."
Fang Hong was too lazy to argue further—shoot or not, the set would keep running without her.
She was just wasting his time and draining his energy; he turned and waved his hand: "Start shooting."
"You—"
Yang Zi was about to say something.
Fang Hong turned back, pointing angrily: "Get out!"
The voice was loud and sudden; Yang Zi startled, stepped back, her face changed, and she froze in place.
It also startled everyone around.
They'd never seen the Principal lose his temper like this before—he'd always been polite and reasonable; this truly shattered their perception.
They never imagined the Principal could be so fiery.
Liu Tianxian showed no expression—who doesn't have a temper? If pushed, she'd glare too.
The set fell silent for a moment; no one spoke, all staring fixedly at the Principal, who radiated tension.
At this moment, Yang Zi was too frightened by Fang Hong to speak, truly afraid he might do something to her.
She'd only wanted to terminate the contract, give her employer a face-saving exit, and avoid making a scene—but now she was stuck.
She hadn't expected Fang Hong to be this hardline, so cold toward a woman.
In short, it's bullying the weak and fearing the strong—the nicer you are, the more she thinks you're easy to push around.
"Don't crowd here—skip her scenes for now, everyone get to work."
Fang Hong waved his hand, signaling everyone to disperse.
Then he whispered to Lu Dabo: "Get her out of here."
Lu Dabo was confused: "How do I get her out?"
She's a woman—I can't just beat her up!
"Beat her up," Fang Hong patted his shoulder, then walked away.
"Huh?!"
Lu Dabo was stunned—he couldn't possibly hit her!
Actually, Fang Hong was joking—he'd just treat Yang Zi as if she didn't exist; if she found it boring, she'd leave on her own.
She wouldn't dare cause trouble here even if she had the guts—she was just a blustering coward, and Fang Hong saw right through her.
What he worried about now was where to find a female actress.
"Hey, did you get your money yet?" Liu Tianxian walked up from behind and asked.
She seemed uninterested in what had just happened.
"Ah!" Fang Hong sighed.
Liu Tianxian saw his gloomy expression: "What? Didn't you get it?"
"Ah!"
Fang Hong said nothing, just kept sighing.
This made Liu Tianxian feel uneasy—she thought he hadn't gotten the money, so she comforted him: "It's fine, think of another way."
"Ah," Fang Hong sighed again.
"Even if you have no way, it's okay—I still have some money; I can lend you some to tide you over," Liu Tianxian assumed he had no options left and decided to help him.
Fang Hong looked at her and smiled: "Yifei, you're just too good—if anyone marries you, I'll be jealous."
"You, stop saying useless things," Liu Tianxian scolded playfully.
They were at this critical moment, and he was still making jokes.
"I'll tell you some good news—don't get angry." Fang Hong said.
Liu Tianxian was puzzled: "What good news?"
"First promise me you won't get angry."
"Why would I get angry about good news? Just tell me!" Liu Tianxian said.
Fang Hong glanced around, leaned close, and whispered: "The money's arrived—China Film Group paid in full, about forty million total; I'll get over twenty million. It went smoothly."
"Really?" Liu Tianxian's phoenix eyes fixed on him.
"Really," Fang Hong beamed.
Liu Tianxian raised her tiny fist and pounded him hard on the shoulder—bang, bang, bang.
"Damn it!"
Fang Hong cried out in pain, clutching his shoulder: "You said you wouldn't be angry."
"I'm not angry. Who said I was angry?"
Liu Tianxian dodged the accusation, shot him a glare—those few punches had made her feel much better, after all, she'd been worried.
You're clearly angry.
Fang Hong didn't say it outright; he just took it. Who else but him had nothing better to do?
"I've got some bad news to tell you," he said.
"What bad news?" Liu Tianxian asked instinctively.
"Ah—"
Fang Hong was about to sigh, but saw Liu Tianxian's eyes flash with menace—he cut the sigh short and hurriedly added: "Aren't we still missing a female actress? Do you know anyone?"
"No, I know very few female actresses," Liu Tianxian shook her head.
I used to know quite a few, but they were all too practical—I've lost touch.
"Alright then!"
Fang Hong could only look again for a female actress at Beijing Film Academy, but right now he had no idea who to pick—someone of the right age with decent acting skills was truly rare.
Seeing his expression, Liu Tianxian lowered her head and thought for a moment, then said: "I know a female actress—wonder if you'd be satisfied?"
"Who?"
"Shu Chang," Liu Tianxian said.
"Her? Get her here!" Fang Hong said.
That girl has great acting skills and the right age.
Don't let Shu Chang's long absence make her seem ancient—she's about the same age as Liu Tianxian, just barely in her early twenties.
But she's been inactive so long, people think she's from ancient times!
"I'll check if she's free."
Liu Tianxian didn't commit fully; she pulled out her phone and dialed, then hung up and said: "She's in Beijing right now—she'll drive over."
Shu Chang must be idle—she came the moment she was called.
"Good, that's settled."
Fang Hong looked at her and said: "Thanks for what you did earlier."
He meant about Yang Zi—no matter the outcome, Liu Tianxian had done what she should, even using her own car to pick the girl up.
She'd done more than enough.
"Don't say useless things. As long as filming goes smoothly, the main thing is finishing the drama," Liu Tianxian showed great sense of priorities.
It was just a brief interlude and didn't affect the production schedule—once Shu Chang arrived, the assistant director would handle her, and they'd just reshoot a few scenes.
The role didn't have many lines, but it was quite striking—well-played, it could leave a strong impression.
Fang Hong remembered the character's overly sweet, affected tone vividly—if she added a touch of that squeaky voice, it'd be perfect.
"Just turned eighteen!" Add that vibe!
