Chapter 68
Entering the elevator, Fang Hong pressed the button for the 13th floor.
Standing side by side, Liu Tianxian said: "This area you picked isn't bad—transportation's pretty convenient."
"I chose it because Hua Yi is right across the street," Fang Hong said.
"Heh, you're still holding a grudge." Liu Tianxian laughed.
"When I was filming before, they poached one of my cinematographers."
Fang Hong told her: "This time I put my company right across from them—see how many people they can steal. I'm already ready to go fight them."
"There's more to this?"
Liu Tianxian didn't know about this—she was surprised now, having thought only of the Yang Zi incident.
This man used her as the lead actress—apparently the other side did react.
Liu Tianxian sized up the man beside her: "You're so small—can you even beat them?"
Meaning his frame was too slight.
"Don't judge by my size—I've got explosive power," Fang Hong joked.
"Oh wow, you're so capable!"
"But you're here, right? Whoever bullies me, you'll help me, won't you!" Fang Hong tilted his head.
"I'll definitely protect you!"
Liu Tianxian patted her chest, adopting a big-sister vibe—just teasing.
At that moment, the elevator doors opened, and Fang Hong gestured left.
Entering the company, it was empty—spacious and silent. Liu Tianxian looked around: "Why is there no one working here?"
"It's a startup—I can't afford too many people," Fang Hong said.
"Oh!"
Liu Tianxian pointed to the wall directly opposite the entrance: "Why don't you hang your 'Let's conquer the world together' slogan on this wall? Everyone who comes in will see it."
"Too childish," Fang Hong said.
"You know what 'childish' means? I thought you didn't." Liu Tianxian found it funny.
"Slogans are for others to hear—not for yourself," Fang Hong said.
"You're so sneaky," Liu Tianxian said.
Passing through the office area, they reached a room. Fang Hong pushed the door open: "This is the screenwriting room."
Inside, two girls were chatting. Bao Jinjin turned around and immediately smiled: "Oh my, Feifei, you're here!"
She stood up and walked toward the door.
Now she no longer called her "sister"—Liu Tianxian was a few months younger, and she hadn't known before.
"Yes, just came to take a look."
Liu Tianxian was also delighted—she and Bao Jinjin got along perfectly: lively, easy to talk to about life philosophy, and mostly without ulterior motives.
People like that were simple.
Fang Hong stepped aside to let the two women reunite.
Jiao Huajing, sitting at her desk, felt like an outsider—they all knew each other, and she was the new one.
"By the way, let me introduce you—this is Jiao Huajing, also a talent from Beijing Film Academy."
Bao Jinjin held Liu Tianxian's hand warmly.
Liu Tianxian looked at the round-faced girl with long hair and greeted politely: "Hello!"
"Hello, Yifei-jie."
Jiao Huajing nodded in greeting.
She could call her "jie"—she was one year younger than Liu Tianxian.
The office was bright and clear, with potted plants and feminine decorations—fresh and warm.
That's how a girl's workspace should be.
Fang Hong casually sat on a chair, watching the three women seated together chattering away, occasionally bursting into "giggles"—it was joyful.
Jiao Huajing was young too, and also a literary girl—she quickly blended in.
This was intentional on Fang Hong's part—he wanted Liu Tianxian to have another circle. Why stay trapped in that noisy, restless entertainment world? It was so stifling!
When they'd finished chatting, Fang Hong said: "Let's go."
"You guys keep working—I'll be off," Liu Tianxian stood up.
"Alright!"
Bao Jinjin winked playfully at Liu Tianxian, her big eyes shifting toward Fang Hong—her meaning was obvious.
Liu Tianxian understood—the girl wanted to matchmake them.
Meddling again—she raised her hand as if to hit her.
"Hehehe!"
Bao Jinjin laughed and leaned back.
After the two left, Jiao Huajing asked Bao Jinjin: "Are the Principal and Liu Tianxian dating?"
"Not yet. Right now it's flowers falling but the stream pays no mind—we should help the Principal more. I think they're perfect for each other," Bao Jinjin said.
Later, Fang Hong took Liu Tianxian to the post-production department.
As soon as the door opened, a sour, foul odor hit them.
Liu Tianxian didn't complain—she peered inside and saw several young people, disheveled and with dark circles under their eyes, sitting at computers, turning to look at her.
"Clean up a bit!" Fang Hong said.
"We don't have time—you don't even give us days off," someone replied.
"You all get back to work."
Fang Hong closed the door for them, the capitalist's face showing through without a doubt.
The company was still small at this scale, basically covered in a glance; as for the behind-the-scenes production crew, those people were field staff and not at the company.
Fang Hong led Liu Tianxian toward his office. Liu Tianxian said, "Why are you squeezing them like that?"
"Not squeezing — they're willing. I'm very humane," Fang Hong said flatly.
"Liar!" Liu Tianxian didn't buy it at all.
The two entered the office. The office was very simple — just one desk and a few chairs, no decorations at all.
There was a floor-to-ceiling window, with skyscrapers outside.
Fang Hong sat in the main seat. Behind him hung a calligraphy painting, the writing quite grand and tasteful.
This was calligraphy copied by someone he'd hired.
Liu Tianxian noticed it too, tilted her head up slightly and read aloud, "Slut!"
Fang Hong didn't understand, followed her gaze and looked back: "What slut? It's Tandang — can't you read?"
"Who are you saying can't read?"
Liu Tianxian's face immediately dropped, and she reached across the desk to hit him.
Fang Hong leaned back to dodge: "Is there a third person here?"
Liu Tianxian got angry, went around the desk, and went straight for him with her hands. Fang Hong hurriedly stood up and pulled away to the other side.
A chair sat between the two of them.
"Come here," Liu Tianxian said with fierce eyes.
"You want me to come over so I come over? Wouldn't that make me lose face," Fang Hong said.
"Come here, I won't hit you!" Liu Tianxian's tone softened a bit.
"You think I'm stupid?" he beckoned.
"You are a big idiot."
Liu Tianxian, seeing he wouldn't fall for it, headed outside.
Fang Hong smiled. Clearly this girl was much more casual with him than before. He quickly caught up beside her and reached to put his arm around her shoulder.
Liu Tianxian's gaze flicked down, and she threw an elbow back, catching this man right in the chest.
"Ah!"
Fang Hong let out a muffled grunt, bent over and clutched his chest.
Liu Tianxian, seeing something was wrong, hurriedly supported him: "I didn't hurt you, did I!"
"I'm fine!"
Fang Hong waved a hand, straightened up, puffed out his chest and stretched a bit — felt all right.
That strike really had no sense of proportion. Other girls hit people all soft and weak, but she was like a tough woman.
Liu Tianxian had practiced martial arts before, so a heavy hand was normal.
She probably didn't even know it herself — she'd never hit anyone like this before. When angry, she'd just glare at people with a roll of her eyes.
"That's good then!"
Liu Tianxian, seeing he was fine, also set her mind at ease: "Your body's not tough at all!"
"Am I not tough?"
Fang Hong widened his eyes, clenched both fists, and tensed his body as if exerting great effort.
That goofy look made Liu Tianxian unable to help covering her mouth and laughing — how was he like her, a little neurotic.
