Chapter 78

~7 min read 1,285 words

Liu Tianxian didn't understand at all: "Who would be so kind as to promote our movie for us?"

"The heavenly secrets cannot be revealed," Fang Hong teased.

Seeing his smug look, Liu Tianxian gritted her teeth and sprang up, grabbing his throat: "Are you going to tell me or not?"

"Hey hey, you'll find out when the time comes!"

Fang Hong was squished deep into the sofa, but not hard—Liu Tianxian still knew her limits.

At this moment, she was on top, him below—Fang Hong's view was excellent: her skin glowed translucent, her hair scattered.

"Tell me now," Liu Tianxian pressed.

"You really want to know?"

"Of course...!"

Before she could finish, she cried "Ah!" as Fang Hong wrapped his arms around her waist and flipped them over, pinning her beneath him.

Their positions reversed—now Fang Hong was on top.

Liu Tianxian screamed loudly enough for Xu Liyun in the kitchen to hear; Xu Liyun smiled gently and didn't interrupt them.

"Are you trying to kill me?!" Liu Tianxian glared.

"Sister, do you remember our first time in this position?" Fang Hong looked at her.

Liu Tianxian turned her face aside in silence—of course she remembered. Back then, they were in a car. Almost a year had passed; time flew so fast.

Seeing her face turned just right, Fang Hong couldn't resist leaning down, sniffing her cheek, then puckering his lips to kiss it.

So fragrant—he couldn't help drooling. And he actually did.

Liu Tianxian felt liquid trickling across her face, froze in shock, then flew into rage: "You pervert!"

She wiped her face and launched a barrage of punches and kicks at him, forcing him to retreat step by step.

Fang Hong had to raise his hands to block, but didn't strike back.

"Calm down, calm down!"

Liu Tianxian didn't answer—she slammed a palm against his, and Fang Hong, unable to resist, was blasted back several steps.

After all, she's a girl—you've got to let her win!

After finishing her attack, Liu Tianxian plopped down on the sofa, glaring at him with eyes that could pierce through flesh—furious, furious he'd drooled—what kind of sick habit was that?!

"It's not that I won't tell you—I'm still planning it, not finalized yet," Fang Hong pressed forward again, shamelessly explaining his earlier behavior, not wanting to push too far.

"You're too cautious—you won't even tell me!" Liu Tianxian felt a pang of being distrusted.

"I've only just thought of a few points—I haven't connected them yet. I can't explain it clearly to you right now because I haven't figured it out myself," Fang Hong explained, sitting beside her.

"If you don't even understand it yourself, why ask me to promote it? Isn't that too reckless?" Liu Tianxian looked at him.

"It is a bit—but mainly, I don't want you to get too tired," Fang Hong cooed.

"Can you talk seriously for once?" Liu Tianxian glared.

Fang Hong wilted, no longer daring to flirt.

"Come eat, now."

At that moment, Xu Liyun called from the kitchen.

"Let's go eat."

Only then did Fang Hong dare speak again—Liu Tianxian wasn't unreasonable; she didn't hold a grudge.

The two walked to the dining table, where Xu Liyun was busy arranging bowls and chopsticks. She wiped her hands: "Little Liu, it's just simple dishes—I don't know if they suit your taste."

"It's fine—I wasn't hungry anyway. Anything's fine."

Liu Tianxian picked up her chopsticks, casually grabbed a bite, then her eyes lit up: "Mmm... delicious."

"Right? Hehehe!"

Xu Liyun beamed with satisfaction and gestured: "Sit down, I'll serve you rice."

"No no, Auntie, I'll do it myself!" Liu Tianxian hurried forward to stop her—how could she let that happen?

"No problem, no problem, sit!" Xu Liyun was insistent.

Fang Hong, beside her, tugged Liu Tianxian's arm, signaling her to sit.

There was no stopping it—his mother had always adored this girl.

Liu Tianxian glanced at him and stopped pretending.

When Xu Liyun brought the rice over, Liu Tianxian accepted it with both hands and said: "Thank you!"

Xu Liyun was delighted, sitting across from them. She hadn't properly studied the girl before, but now she saw—she was truly beautiful.

Mostly because she was polite, and had such a good character!

Liu Tianxian felt uneasy under the constant scrutiny, so she pretended to eat slowly.

Fang Hong, as usual, showed nothing.

The meal was ordinary.

"Mom, I'm dropping Yifei off. I've got work tonight—I'll be back late. There's 80,000 yuan on the living room coffee table—take it for household expenses."

After dinner, Fang Hong and Liu Tianxian prepared to leave.

"Go slowly then."

Xu Liyun saw them off, watched their car vanish into the distance, then returned inside.

In the car, Liu Tianxian looked at him: "You've got work tonight?"

"The post-production team's working—I've got to stay with them, or they'll feel resentful. If the boss isn't even there, why should I bother? Just slap something together and call it done—wouldn't that be a waste?" Fang Hong spoke with unusual insight.

But for a makeshift crew without clear rules, that's how it went.

"You're good at looking after people's feelings—no wonder everyone sticks with you so devotedly," Liu Tianxian praised.

He didn't say: I just haven't looked after you well.

The two chatted casually and soon arrived at their destination; Liu Tianxian's home was also a villa in Chaoyang District, not far, but just a small villa—she hadn't moved to Shunyi District yet.

Moving to a large villa in Shunyi District was something for later, when her commercial value had been revived through fashion.

But don't think she's broke; though her acting fees are low, she's saved money from appearing on shows, endorsements, and brand appearances.

Yet for a celebrity, these savings are poverty; for an ordinary person, they're a fortune.

They exchanged greetings, and Liu Tianxian got out of the car!

Fang Hong didn't get out or enter Liu Tianxian's villa; since she didn't invite him, he wouldn't rudely intrude—he had to proceed step by step.

"Who dropped you off? And you even gave him your car?"

The voice startled Liu Tianxian; she turned and saw her mother standing at the door, staring at her.

"I just borrowed it—I'll return it," Liu Tianxian steadied her nerves.

"Hmph! Do you think I believe you?"

Liu Xiaoli spoke to her daughter very casually.

"You can believe it or not—I believe it," Liu Tianxian said playfully, then ran inside.

"Hey, you little brat!"

Liu Xiaoli chased after her, reaching to grab her ear.

Fang Hong got home at ten p. m.; his mother was still awake.

"Why are you back so late?"

"There's a lot of work to do—I'll be late every day. You don't need to wait for me; rest well," Fang Hong said.

"Do you want a late-night snack? I'll cook you some noodles," Xu Liyun asked warmly.

Fang Hong stepped forward, turned his mother around, placed his hands on her shoulders, and gently pushed her: "I'm not hungry—go rest!"

Xu Liyun laughed and sighed: "Then tell me—how far have you gotten with that Liu Tianxian?"

"We've just started dating."

Fang Hong couldn't overstate it; too much might make things hard to explain later—if they pushed him into marriage, it'd be trouble.

If they pressured Liu Tianxian, she'd probably chop him with a knife—two cuts wouldn't matter, but if she felt pressured and started avoiding him, that'd be worse.

"Work hard, son—this girl's great; she's more than worthy of you," Xu Liyun said.

"I'll definitely try," Fang Hong pushed his mother into her room.

If not for his mother, he wouldn't come home—he'd just stay at the company.

But she'd just arrived; he feared she'd be unsettled, so he had to come home.
