Chapter 98: Grateful Heart

~4 min read 790 words

Being grateful means keeping a ordinary heart.

"That's a good point. Those who write smear pieces should be grateful to you—you're the reason they have food on the table," Fang Hong agreed. "But I still thank you; without you, I wouldn't have known when I'd stop obsessing."

Liu Tianxian was genuinely grateful to this man—he had accompanied her all this time, telling her life's big truths.

Though sometimes his words were nonsense, the meaning got across, and she felt her spiritual world had risen another level.

Looking out at the world, looking at the people outside, she no longer found them so evil.

She could now face life properly and regulate herself.

"No need to thank me—we don't say 'thank you' between us."

Fang Hong spoke those words, but his eyes were fixed on a brown-skinned beauty passing by.

It was hard not to look—mainly because the woman walked with exceptional visual appeal, swaying her hips like a supermodel, irresistible to admire.

"You're right."

Liu Tianxian was about to agree with the man when she noticed his gaze wasn't on her—it had drifted elsewhere.

The brown-skinned beauty had already passed; she turned to see a tall figure in a silk strap dress, her rear swaying as she walked away.

Liu Tianxian's face dropped instantly; she slapped the man's arm hard: "What are you looking at?"

"Huh?" Fang Hong snapped his gaze back, realizing: "I wasn't looking at anything—just thought the scenery was nice."

"What scenery?" Liu Tianxian's tone carried anger.

"There's the sea, the sky, and you."

"Don't bullshit me—you were staring at that woman," Liu Tianxian pointed at the retreating figure.

"I wasn't!" Fang Hong denied it.

"Do you think I'm blind? You clearly looked!" Liu Tianxian's tone grew sharper.

Fang Hong saw she was upset—probably jealous—and admitted: "Fine, since you say I looked, then I looked."

"Hmph!" Liu Tianxian sneered. "You admit it pretty readily!"

"What's wrong with that? She walked by—can't I look? Why are you so worked up?" Fang Hong said.

"I—"

Liu Tianxian fell silent. Why was she so worked up?

Suddenly, she realized she wanted to teach him a lesson—but didn't know by what right.

"I just want you to know: don't keep staring at other women—it's disgusting!"

Liu Tianxian spat, turned, and walked off, too lazy to chat with this lecher.

She felt guilty—couldn't go on!

Fang Hong grabbed her hand and pulled her back, pinning her against the railing.

Before Liu Tianxian could react, a face rushed toward her.

A pair of lips pressed against hers.

Liu Tianxian was startled for a moment, then calmed—then suddenly widened her phoenix eyes, pounding furiously on the man's chest.

But Fang Hong insisted on kissing, kept swirling his tongue, and demanded mutual exchange of saliva.

Long after, Liu Tianxian spat into the sea: "Pfft!" then raised her hand to strike.

Total pervert—he'd smeared all his spit into her mouth.

"You said it: be grateful," Fang Hong quickly pulled away.

"I'm grateful for your head."

Liu Tianxian charged at him, hitting hard.

They chased each other across the deck, into the cabin, then back out onto the deck.

A French photographer with a camera around his neck saw them chasing and wrestling, raised his camera, and snapped a photo.

The frame froze: Liu Tianxian's hair flying wildly as she sprinted toward Fang Hong—only her back visible.

Fang Hong ran back to his room, locked the door, and shut Liu Tianxian out like a tigress—she was terrifying.

It was just a kiss—who doesn't do a French kiss?

March 2nd: the cruise ship entered the Los Angeles port on America's west coast, where Hollywood lay.

Fang Hong and Yu Xian queued along the gangway to disembark.

Liu Tianxian leaned on the cruise rail and shouted: "Hey, Fang Hong!"

Fang Hong turned around!

"Watch yourself!"

Liu Tianxian raised a tiny fist, her expression threatening.

He thought she was going to say something sweet—he ignored her and walked off. He'd already kissed her—should he return the spit? Maybe that could be negotiated!

Liu Tianxian watched the man's back, a faint smile on her face—she'd just come to see him off.

She wouldn't disembark here—she'd pass through the Panama Canal and head to New York on the east coast.

"Dude, I feel sorry for you now—she looks so fierce; your life's gonna be rough!" Yu Xian said beside him.

Fang Hong sighed: "Never fall in love with women—when you do, you lose."

"Why?" Yu Xian didn't understand.

"If you fall in love with a woman, she wants physical pleasure, emotional comfort, and then she demands emotional value from you—if you can't give it, she hits you. It's too hard!" Fang Hong said.

Yu Xian thought: Women are terrifying!
