Chapter 11: Expanding Business (Part 2)
After seeing Li Xuan's Flower Seedlings, the Flower Slaves were as if they'd been given a shot of adrenaline, howling to trade with Li Xuan.
Li Xuan looked at their performance, nodded with satisfaction; if today's transaction goes smoothly, his standing in the Flower Sea will soar.
Watching the Flower Slaves start to become chaotic, Li Xuan directly pointed at one of them.
"You, how many Seeds do you have—exchange for Flower Seedlings or give them to me to cultivate?" Li Xuan asked, pointing at the Flower Slave.
"Xuan Ge'er, I have twenty Seeds, trade for eighteen Flower Seedlings!" the Flower Slave said without hesitation, then tossed the bag of Seeds in front of Li Xuan.
"Go in and choose, but the Flower Seedlings here are of high quality and harder to grow, so act within your ability; and once you leave this Courtyard I offer no after‑sale support." Li Xuan said indifferently to the person.
"Don't worry, Xuan Ge'er; once you leave the Courtyard, even if the Flower Seedlings die immediately, I won't blame you." The Flower Slave, squatting on the ground and inspecting each Flower Seedling without looking up, said to Li Xuan.
Li Xuan just shook his head and did not continue to persuade him.
After all, good advice cannot sway a damned fool.
Li Xuan knew how hard his cultivated Flower Seedlings were to tend.
"Anyone who needs me to cultivate Flower Seedlings, I can register you now, and you can come back in seven days to collect them, or wait a moment—once this elder finishes selecting, you can choose your Flower Seedlings." Li Xuan raised his hand and spoke to the others.
Li Xuan had fewer than one hundred Flower Seedlings planted in Flower Pots here, insufficient for so many exchanges, so most would have to be cultivated by him.
The others hesitated briefly, thought it over, and still agreed to leave their Seeds with Li Xuan for him to cultivate, since they had witnessed his skill in cultivating Flower Seedlings.
Moreover, they knew that two days ago Li Xuan had exchanged many high‑quality Seeds in the Canteen, and the resulting Flower Seedlings were naturally hard to care for, so they decided to hand their Seeds to Li Xuan for cultivation.
Li Xuan found a stool, cradling a wooden board, and calmly counted the Seeds while registering the Flower Slaves' names and the number of Seeds exchanged.
After a morning of hustle, Li Xuan finally recorded the names of the Flower Slaves who needed their Seeds cultivated and the quantities.
He surveyed the list, having essentially completed registration of all the Flower Slaves, shook his slightly sore hands, and noted that the morning had exhausted Li Xuan thoroughly.
"You may first look around my Courtyard, and if you feel confident you can grow the Flower Seedlings, you may take them back directly; but before you leave, register with me." Li Xuan placed the name‑filled wooden board back in the corner, then pointed to the remaining Flower Seedlings behind him and said to the Flower Slaves.
"Thanks, Xuan Ge'er!" the other Flower Slaves, upon hearing Li Xuan's words, immediately bowed enthusiastically, then filed in like fish, beginning to select Flower Seedlings in Li Xuan's Courtyard.
Li Xuan was not in a hurry, just waiting for them.
Kongming Grass, Bread Grass, and some Flower Seedlings with important uses Li Xuan kept in his Mao Cao Wu; the Flower Seedlings outside could be moved freely, and Li Xuan felt no remorse.
After a while, a Flower Slave who had selected a Flower Seedling came with a Flower Pot to Li Xuan for registration; after registering, they took the Flower Pot back to their own Courtyard.
Another hour passed, and the last Flower Slave carried away the last Flower Pot; Li Xuan finally relaxed, collapsing from exhaustion onto the ground.
Trading with these people is more tiring than a full‑scale battle.
Looking at the Courtyard in total disarray, Li Xuan's head felt like it was about to explode.
At that moment, Li Xuan suddenly heard a sound outside the Courtyard.
A carp flipped and leapt from the ground, and he instinctively seized a dagger.
Bang bang bang.
With a series of knocks, Li Xuan let out a sigh of relief; the visitor seemed friendly, not hostile. "Xuan Ge'er, it's me, I've come to see you," Bai Wen's voice came from outside the Courtyard.
"Brother Bai Wen, come in quickly," Li Xuan hurriedly opened the door and welcomed Bai Wen inside.
"Xuan Ge'er, your Courtyard... how did it become like this?" Bai Wen looked at the mess and asked Li Xuan in confusion.
"I just sold those Flower Seedlings, but don't worry, I haven't touched yours; they're all right here. Once I transplant them in a moment, you can take them back," Li Xuan pointed to the vessel used for cultivation, smiling.
Li Xuan hadn't moved Bai Wen's Flower Seedlings; they were all grown from his own Seeds.
Upon hearing Li Xuan's words, Bai Wen's face showed an ashamed expression.
Originally Bai Wen had thought Li Xuan had touched his portion of Flower Seedlings; this visit was to investigate, but he didn't expect Li Xuan hadn't moved his Flower Seedlings at all.
"Xuan Ge'er... let me help you tidy up the Courtyard," Bai Wen hesitated, didn't voice his own thoughts, and simply offered to help Li Xuan with some work.
"Alright, Brother Bai Wen, I'll transplant these Flower Seedlings into Flower Pots, and you tidy the Courtyard," Li Xuan said with a smile, then produced a heap of Flower Pots and began moving the cultivated Flower Seedlings into them for proper cultivation.
Bai Wen glanced shyly at Li Xuan twice, then started helping him clean the Courtyard.
The two of them busied themselves for an afternoon before finishing their respective tasks.
"Brother Bai Wen, take these Flower Pots back, but there are over thirty; you'll likely need to make several trips," Li Xuan said with a smile.
"That's no problem; I still have to thank Xuan Ge'er for this!" Bai Wen, excited, bowed to Li Xuan, then carried a few Flower Pots out of Li Xuan's Courtyard.
Li Xuan loosened his stiff joints, looked up at Bai Wen's retreating back, smiled and shook his head; his soul was that of a proper adult, so he could certainly read Bai Wen's intentions.
He just didn't want to expose Bai Wen.
Li Xuan looked at the spotless Courtyard, nodded with satisfaction, and glanced up at the sky.
The sun was about to set, and Li Xuan no longer had the energy to continue cultivating.
Back in the Mao Cao Wu, Li Xuan spread all the Seeds across his own bed.
After all that, the number of Seeds in Li Xuan's hands directly surpassed twelve hundred.
However, there were many duplicate Seeds; for each repeated Seed, Li Xuan kept two copies in his Void Pearl.
The remaining eight hundred twenty varieties of exotic Flowers and herbs were used for cultivation, with seed stock kept to give to those Flower Slaves.
By moonlight, Li Xuan identified each Seed and sorted them into three piles by grade.
Among them were six hundred Common Seeds, one hundred fifty Rare Seeds, sixty‑two Uncommon Seeds, and more importantly, eight Heavenly Material Earth Treasure Seeds.
Li Xuan selected the Seeds with special medicinal effects and stored them in his Void Pearl.
The remaining Seeds, to be used for cultivation tomorrow, should be enough to serve the other Flower Slaves.
Li Xuan hadn't expected that the once‑in‑a‑century Heavenly Material Earth Treasure Seeds, now he already possessed ten, and even a seed of an Immortal Grade spirit plant!
