Chapter 65: Me? Possession?

At the dead of night, when the sky was at its darkest, a Void Pearl in Li Xuan's belt suddenly and silently split a fissure.

Immediately after, a sticky, nauseating, black, petroleum‑like liquid oozed out of the Void Pearl and slowly fell to the ground.

In the darkness the liquid was inconspicuous, but its corrosion was extreme; wherever it passed left a deep scar.

The black liquid moved slowly and silently; even the sleeping Li Xuan showed no reaction.

The black liquid had a clear target: the Li Xuan sleeping on the bed.

When the black liquid crawled onto Li Xuan's bed, Li Xuan still felt nothing.

Until the black liquid reached the spot above Li Xuan's head, it shot straight up, then dropped violently, enveloping Li Xuan's head.

"Ah… gurgle gurgle… go… gurgle gurgle…!"

Li Xuan was startled by the sudden head‑covering, let out a furious shout, choked himself several times, snapped his eyes open, and at the same time Burning Heart Divine Flame wrapped his body.

But after opening his eyes, Li Xuan saw only darkness, and then felt a violent spinning of heaven and earth.

When his vision returned, he found himself in a vast void, floating in mid‑air.

"Where am I? How did I end up here?" Li Xuan muttered, scratching his head as he stared at the scene before him.

I was sleeping soundly; who sent me to a place like this?

What a nuisance.

Suddenly Li Xuan sensed a fiery power around him, and his body shifted to dodge the sudden attack.

It was a wrist‑thick black water column, sticky, that surged from behind him; although it missed, Li Xuan could still feel the massive force it carried.

Immediately, countless black sticky liquids formed water columns that kept firing at Li Xuan.

This was Li Xuan's first battle in the void; relying on instinct he evaded the attacks in the air, but lacking experience, he was soon hit by a black water column.

Before the water column struck him, Li Xuan quickly gathered a Burning Heart Seal to block the attack.

The water column's tremendous force slammed Li Xuan into a water prison formed by the column.

Although trapped in the water prison, Li Xuan was not panicked at all.

If Li Xuan guessed correctly, this should be his Spiritual World, and someone is trying to possess him.

But Li Xuan has Burning Heart Divine Flame, a fire that can scorch souls, so he need not worry about actually being possessed, which is why he remains calm.

"If I'm right, this must be Filthy Flame, and the only one who can wield Filthy Flame should be Filthy Flame Yin Lotus. Come out, you can't hide and take my body away." Li Xuan stepped forward, touched the "water" on the water prison, and sensed the energy inside the "water" column.

The water columns that make up this prison aren't water at all, but sticky, petroleum‑like Filthy Flame! In other words, the thing imprisoning him is not a water prison but a Filthy Flame fire prison!

"Ha ha, you brat finally discovered me. Hand over your body obediently, let me replace you and see this splendid world. Using your body is your honor!" an old, mad voice echoed from outside the Filthy Flame fire prison.

After hearing the voice, Li Xuan completely relaxed, confirming his suspicion—it was indeed a possession!

Since it is a possession, Li Xuan became even less afraid!

Li Xuan waved his hand, and a crack appeared in the Filthy Flame fire prison before him; Li Xuan saw the Filthy Flame Yin Lotus not far away.

At this moment the Filthy Flame Yin Lotus had a humanoid upper body and a gaseous lower body, draped in a black cloak, its face indistinct.

"The soul of this Filthy Flame Yin Lotus isn't a complete form; why has it become so weak?" Li Xuan frowned at the soul of the Filthy Flame Yin Lotus.

On Douluo Continent, there are hardly any soul masters who primarily cultivate soul power, let alone the even more difficult-to‑cultivate soul power.

"Could it be that it's been sealed for too long, causing soul damage? How long was it sealed?" Li Xuan muttered irritably.

"By the way, how long have you been sealed?" Li Xuan frowned and asked the lingering soul outside. "You dead man, why ask so much? You're about to merge with me; then you'll know everything. Come on, give up resistance!" Filthy Flame Yin Lotus laughed wildly, pointing at Li Xuan.

"Sigh! No choice, I wanted to negotiate, but you're courting death, I have no tricks left!" Li Xuan sighed helplessly.

With his left hand he lightly waved, and countless basketball‑sized Burning Heart Divine Flame fireballs appeared outside the Filthy Flame fire prison.

"Go!" Li Xuan shouted softly, and the fireballs, like meteors chasing the moon, slammed into the Filthy Flame fire prison at breakneck speed.

"Boom!"

"Boom!"

……

As a series of explosions rang out, in the blink of an eye the once airtight Filthy Flame fire prison was shattered by Burning Heart Divine Flame.

"You… how did you do that!" Filthy Flame Yin Lotus, seeing its fire prison broken, was also startled, looking at Li Xuan in shock.

It seemed the damage to its soul had already affected the Filthy Flame Yin Lotus's mind.

"Fine, early finish, early off‑work! The Filthy Flame Yin Lotus's soul is destroyed, that lotus seed will need a thorough inspection before reuse!" Li Xuan snorted, then began to manipulate the seal with both hands.

In the next second, a Fenxin Array ten meters tall appeared beneath the Filthy Flame Yin Lotus's soul; as soon as Li Xuan's thoughts moved, Burning Heart Divine Flame would instantly turn the soul to ash.

"Want to kill me that easily? Dream on!" Filthy Flame Yin Lotus roared skyward at Li Xuan, simultaneously extending black‑smoke hands that conjured two red flames.

"Eh? Changed color? No? Did Filthy Flame Yin Lotus absorb other flames?" Li Xuan was about to retort when a thought struck him, and he stared at Filthy Flame Yin Lotus in shock.

Filthy Flame Yin Lotus used a second type of flame besides Filthy Flame.

There are many ways to obtain a second flame; Li Xuan won't list them all, but to control two or more flames simultaneously requires a technique to balance them, otherwise the flames will clash inside the Host, and the resulting power is comparable to swallowing a hand‑grenade with a fuse.

The best method is to cultivate a technique.

Of course, there are other ways. But Li Xuan thinks the best way is to balance the flames with a technique! "Could my technique's opportunity be related to Filthy Flame Yin Lotus?" Li Xuan frowned and formed the seal with both hands.

Two Burning Heart Seals appeared simultaneously at the upper and lower directions of the Filthy Flame Yin Lotus.

The upper Burning Heart Seal released dozens of light pillars, forming a light prison that contained the Filthy Flame Yin Lotus.

Now the offense and defense have switched; the advantage is mine! The red flame in Filthy Flame Yin Lotus's hand surged out.

"Boom!"

"Boom!"

……

Indeed the power is strong, but Li Xuan's light prison is extremely hard, impossible for the Filthy Flame Yin Lotus to break.

This is the Spiritual World; launching attacks consumes soul power, and after Li Xuan absorbed Burning Heart Divine Flame, even without actively taxing his soul, his soul automatically strengthens! Moreover, soul energy spent in the Spiritual World recovers after a night's sleep, so Li Xuan need not conserve soul power.

"Ah!"

Filthy Flame Yin Lotus roared angrily while bombarding the light array with flames.

At that moment, Li Xuan calmed down instead, staring at the Filthy Flame Yin Lotus before him and pondering how to draw out its words.

"If it really doesn't work, we'll have to use that method, but it's too cruel," Li Xuan said helplessly, watching the Filthy Flame Yin Lotus still leaping up and down within the light array.

Wishing all the honored readers and gentlemen a happy day, hehe, I posted a bit late.
