Chapter 418

~13 min read 2,528 words

Chahatai Khan.

He is one of the survivors of Istvan's Seven Great Massacre, and also the OriginalBody that was personally defeated and captured by Helusi.

However, Chahatai, who should be wearing OriginalBody armor, tall and mighty, although his appearance is not as handsome as Shengjilesi and Fogelrim, but his features are rugged and highlight his tenacity, the sight of him that could be placed before Constantine and the Imperial Guard brothers is completely opposite.

At this moment, the "Khan", was pierced by the traitors with rusty metal hooks through the skin, clavicle, shoulder bones, and both arms, pulling flesh and blood, dripping blood hanging in the center of the cell.

Both legs and lower body have long since disappeared, but the wounds and gaps have not healed even until now.

Because the traitors placed a fat, huge, unknown creature, like a maggot enlarged many times over, into the wounds and gaps, constantly gnawing at Chahatai's body, preventing healing, and even laying more eggs inside his body; if observed carefully, one can also find tiny white worms extremely unfriendly to those with trypophobia.

What's even more horrifying is that Chahatai's facial skin was peeled off alive, his nose and both ears were cut off, and his eyeballs were gouged out by brute force and placed in a transparent culture dish not far away, leaving only his mouth……

It is a mouth missing its tongue.

Witnessing all this, Constantine and the Imperial Guard brothers, even though they are not humans of the Zero-Three Universe, nor Astartes under the White Scar, would still feel a hint of sorrow.

The traitors wanted to use every means of torture, attempting to break the defenses of reason and loyalty both physically and psychologically, yet Chahatai Khan would rather die than yield.

Although Chahatai likewise harbors dissatisfaction with the Emperor's attitude, deeds, and some actions, he absolutely would not choose to 'negotiate' through betrayal and patricide, for in his eyes, even if the Empire and the Emperor are utterly base and sinful, they are not even one ten-thousandth of the Chaos Evil Gods.

Having endured the torture, torment, and abuse inflicted by Helusi's son for over two hundred and sixty years, if it were not for Chahatai Khan's extraordinarily strong self-healing ability as an OriginalBody, he would have long since perished.

Eh... eh eh...

At this moment, it seems he sensed a 'newcomer' entering the cell; the sightless and deaf Chahatai moved his mouth, mumbling something.

And Constantine, whose hearing is intact, could hear clearly: 'Go... go to hell, traitors...'

Hearing the words, the Imperial Guard commander who had long kept a cold, emotionless face actually showed a hint of respect; thereafter he no longer concealed his pure Spiritual Energy, and using the little trick Sui Bian taught him, he tried to soothe Chahatai Khan, causing this OriginalBody to gradually relax his vigilance.

Next, Constantine attached the Cassius gun to his back, personally stepped forward, and together with three Imperial Guard brothers helped Chahatai free himself from the metal hooks' restraints.

Then Constantine and the accompanying Imperial Guard brothers protected the frail Chahatai as they left the cell, returned to the square, and again used the Spiritual Energy transmission taught by Sui Bian to depart from this place.

The Terra Palace is filled with Chaos Spiritual Energy and transmission jamming devices; if the Endbringers of the main universe were to conduct regular transmission, while there would be little mortal danger, the main issue is that it would waste time.

Thus, with a burst of black-and-gold-mixed Spiritual Energy light, they vanished from the square in the blink of an eye; Constantine and his companions transmitted to the core world of the Eternal Undying, then hurried to the internal laboratory of the research building, carefully transferring Chahatai Khan onto the operating table.

And when the plague doctor, who had rushed over with a group of researchers, entered the lab and saw Chahatai, his expression changed instantly, and he couldn't help exclaiming: 'My heavens… this child's toughness far exceeds imagination, tsk tsk, I will do my utmost to alleviate your pain, child, don't be afraid.'

Speaking, the plague doctor approached the operating table while rummaging with both hands inside his black small pouch.

When he had fully reached the side of the operating table and stood steady, the plague doctor finally produced a syringe filled with green transparent liquid.

After expelling the excess air, the plague doctor freed his left hand, took from the small pouch his specially made disinfectant towel, and wiped clean the blood and grime on Chahatai's neck.

Having prepared, the plague doctor without hesitation pierced the skin at the neck with the needle and injected all of the green transparent liquid into Chahatai's body.

Once the plague doctor withdrew the needle, Chahatai had already fallen into a sleeping state, gaining for the first time in over two hundred and sixty years the ability to fully relax his body and mind and rest properly.

The plague doctor, too, rarely missed the chance to perform surgery, but instead instructed Constantine and the accompanying researchers: 'First transfer this poor yet admirable child to the observation ward, let him get enough sleep; anyway, I already have ample experimental data and materials, no rush.'

"Good doctor."

Constantine gave a brief reply, then cooperated with the Imperial Guard brothers and the researchers to send Chahatai to the observation ward.

When the plague doctor had just finished packing his small pouch and stepped out of the lab, arriving at a hall on the floor of the research building, pondering whether to go down to the detention area below to seize a few Chaos Astartes for some drug trials, or to go to the office to organize his notes, he happened to see Sui Bian in black-gold armor, and Bai Hou dressed as a secretary, entering the hall.

Before the plague doctor could even start with an 'Oh~! Mr. Sui!' as an opening remark, he heard Sui Bian ask: 'How is it?'

"The condition can't be said to be great, but it's not too bad either." The plague doctor adjusted the strap of his small pouch and said: 'Relying on my medical methods and the company's medical equipment, a full recovery should be no problem.'

"Hmm, that's good." Sui Bian gave a slight nod.

At that moment, Bai Hou's pupils flashed with a blue light, as if she had obtained some crucial information, and she immediately walked up to Sui Bian's ear, whispering her report:

"Chairman, the OriginalBody John and the Sparta Honor Guard have arrived at the innermost region of the Terra Palace, and have sensed an extremely strong Spiritual Energy reaction; they are about to clash with the suspected new Human Empire's new emperor, Helusi Lupekarl."

"Oh? It seems John kid's luck is always a bit better than his brothers'." Sui Bian chuckled lightly, then focused his attention on John, though he didn't intend to interfere much, and he also reminded Bai Hou: 'Share John's position with Rog and Angelong and the others.'

"Okay." Bai Hou agreed.

…

At this moment.

Near the Himalayan Mountains, on this side of the plateau belonging to the core region of the Terra Palace, stands a grand-scale palace whose gilded splendor and exquisite magnificence far surpass that of the palace of the Phoenix Star District's capital.

And in the spacious corridor leading to the innermost part of the palace, there is John with his helmet unfolded and his right hand tightly grasping the Spear of Fear, together with over a hundred warrior guards who arrived here as his OriginalBody companions.

If one slightly turns their head, they can behold through the hollowed-out left wall and the orderly stone pillars the beautiful scenery of the plateau outside the palace and the many buildings.

However, John and the warriors have no mood to admire, nor can they relax the slightest vigilance, for they sense that at the end of the corridor lies apparently the 'target' of this Terra campaign.

They advanced in silence for a moment.

John suddenly stopped in place, frowning slightly as he gazed at the end of the corridor.

?

The warriors, unaware why the OriginalBody had halted his steps, felt slightly perplexed; thus the warrior whose helmet bore an olive branch decoration, and who had casually slain the Lustful God's chosen Lushius, spoke up: 'Commander? Is there any situation?'

John remained silent for several seconds, then slightly turned his body to survey the warriors gathered beside him, and said in a low voice: 'You stay here, wait, and rendezvous with the following friendly forces.'

"Commander..." hearing that the OriginalBody intended to abandon them and face the 'target' alone—namely Helusi Lupekarl—that warrior, or rather all the warriors, felt some hesitation.

However, the warrior guards understand that a clash between OriginalBodies is fundamentally not something this group of legion champions and veteran elites can participate in.

Moreover, the OriginalBody waiting at the end of the corridor is very likely to have received the blessing and protection of the entire alien space and all the Evil Gods, namely Helusi.

If they acted rashly, it's possible their father hasn't yet had time to provide protection, and they would already be dead at Helusi's hands.

Finally, that warrior represented the brothers and nodded: 'Yes, Commander.'

"Hmm." John also gave a slight nod, then continued stride toward the end of the corridor.

Soon after, John's tall stature, as he distanced himself, appeared increasingly 'small' in the eyes of the warriors, until it became merely a black dot.

Next, once John passed through the gate at the end of the corridor and entered the room or hall beyond, the warrior guards had completely lost track of their OriginalBody's whereabouts.

Unable to see, the warrior guards could only rely on Spiritual Perception to confirm and estimate how their OriginalBody was faring.

Unfortunately, the room or hall beyond the gate has a shielding function; relying solely on their Spiritual Energy, they cannot peer inside at all.

———————

…

Beyond the gate.

This is not a room at all, but a spacious hall the size of six football fields, where the walls, bricks, and even the load‑bearing columns are coated in gold, and the ceiling is bathed in soft, bright light.

The most eye‑catching feature is the "Golden Throne" at the far end directly opposite the gate, which can draw in Spiritual Energy to amplify and release it.

Seated upon the throne is the "living corpse" emperor, resembling an oversized mummy, forced to endure the exploitation of traitors and the New Human Empire.

"…"

Seeing the emperor, who despises individuals, loves the whole, and painstakingly seeks humanity's survival across the galaxy and a path of strength and glory, reduced to this state, even John, who rarely shows his emotions, displayed an expression of helplessness.

For a brief instant, the image of his father seated on the Golden Throne gradually floated into John's mind.

However, John's mood was unaffected; he brushed the unrealistic vision out of his mind.

"Dong, dong."

At the same time, he heard a faint noise from his right‑front, caused by magnetic boots stepping on the floor tiles.

He turned his head to look.

He discovered a New Human emperor dressed in pure white armor, wielding a special powered hammer in his right hand, a powered claw crackling with pale red lightning on his left, a wolf‑skin cloak, a bald head, and standing about half a meter shorter than John—

Helusi Lupekar.

"Brother, hu…" Helusi, whose eyes were rimmed with red veins, was just about to speak.

"Rou~!!" was cut off by the fear spear John hurled with force.

"Buzz~!!" rang out as the pale red Spiritual Energy field collided violently with the spear tip, which flickered with a strange, blood‑red sheen.

To his surprise, the otherwise unstoppable fear spear failed to pierce Helusi's Spiritual Energy shield in a single strike.

"Interrupting someone's speech is very impolite," Helusi said, lightly flicking his left hand to bounce the hovering fear spear away, causing the war‑god weapon to embed obliquely in the floor tile as he stepped up to the Golden Throne and halted.

He glanced at the "living corpse" father, then the New Human emperor, staring straight at John—who stood in the hall's center with his usual calm expression and steady Spiritual Energy fluctuations—said, "Brother, my father is an extremely hypocritical and selfish creature; he calls himself the Human Emperor…

Ha! Lacking humanity, what makes him human?! He only thinks of fulfilling his grand ambition and even wants to sacrifice his offspring; such a thing does not deserve to be called a person!"

Helusi spoke, his demeanor growing increasingly angry and frantic, as if he harbored endless hatred toward the Human Emperor behind him.

At this point, Helusi realized he had lost composure, steadied his slightly uncontrolled emotions, and continued speaking to John, "Brother, everything I do is for humanity; only by cooperating with the other dimension can we have a future. The only outcome of resistance is death, extinction, void. Do you understand?"

So, brother, as long as we fight side by side, gaining the Blessing and attention of the gods, no alien, no universe will be able to halt humanity's stride! We will become a ruler‑like existence!

"."

Listening to Helusi's venting words and extending an olive branch, John remained silent, then calmly walked toward the fear spear lodged in the floor tile, extended his right hand, gripped the shaft firmly, and pulled it out without much effort.

Having reclaimed the fear spear, John responded with unwavering eyes, "You speak of your father, but my father is not that. If you want a fight, then fight; further words are useless."

After speaking, John made a charging dash toward Helusi.

"Boom!!" The floor tiles beneath his feet were forced into a shallow pit by John's charging motion.

"Clang!!!"

The thrust of the fear spear was countered by a powered war hammer called the "Worldbreaker", whose metallic clang, capable of deafening Astate forever, resonated throughout the entire hall.

"Hoo!!!"

The collision of spear tip and hammer head generated an invisible shockwave that even warped reality, sweeping the surroundings.

Helusi easily deflected the thrust, and when facing John up close, he couldn't hide a look of regret, shaking his head, "Alas, it's a pity. Though you're not a counterpart of my brothers, you are the brother I admire most, and your legion is both offensive and defensive. If we could fight side by side, I would grant you the rank of War Marshal."

During the clash, John, who was slightly at a disadvantage, lifted the Worldbreaker, then swung it in a sweeping strike, pushing back the suppressing Helusi, his gaze openly showing contempt as he replied:

"War Marshal? Not interested. I'm more interested in your head."

"Hahaha! That's why I admire you! Come! My trophy head is right here!" Helusi roared with laughter.

"Heh." John let out a light hum, disregarding the disparity in strength and Spiritual Energy, fearlessly brandishing the fear spear and thrusting forward.

"Boom!!"

"Bang!!"

The ensuing tremors from the two giants' duel were so intense that everyone involved in the palace‑seizing battle was shaken.
