Chapter 104: Prisoner Cart
Around 6 a. m.
Everyone was awakened by a burst of cat meows and scratching at the door.
This time was normally Chen Mu and He Ying's routine morning practice, but as they had just assumed their stances and hadn't yet moved, they were interrupted by the commotion outside.
More than a dozen people stumbled out of the house, half-asleep.
Then they all turned to look at Du Jia Jia.
Du Jia Jia sported two faint dark circles under her eyes, clearly having slept poorly the night before.
"Hehe, sorry, I was too eager; as soon as it got light I was thinking of Little Yellow."
With Dong Junwei finally relenting, Du Jia Jia could finally meet her precious Little Yellow today; her eagerness was understandable, and she ended up luring the cat over.
Everyone was helpless.
But they also knew Du Jia Jia couldn't precisely control this, so blaming her was pointless.
Getting up early wasn't a big deal.
But this meant Chen Mu had to start preparations early.
After a simple breakfast, everyone gathered at the open space by the door.
"Let's proceed step by step: first make a sealed box to test the cat's reaction."
Chen Mu had also carefully considered this the previous night; since Du Jia Jia's safety was at stake, he wanted multiple safeguards.
He first had Lu Shanshan reduce the weight of a piece of plastic, then made a plastic box that could just fit Du Jia Jia, and finally attached wheels to the bottom.
In short.
This is a transparent prisoner cart.
Except that the "prisoner" Du Jia Jia's head wasn't exposed; only some small ventilation holes were made in the box.
After the weight reduction, the plastic was easy to handle; the cart's body was formed in one go, only the wheels underneath were made separately, but the total time taken was just a few minutes.
Compared to the earlier handcart that took half a day and was hideously ugly, this prisoner cart is like the difference between a Maserati and a hand‑tractor.
Du Jia Jia had imagined she would dash out and give her cat an enthusiastic hug, and that would be the end of it.
Who would have thought it would be so troublesome?
But fearing that the hard‑won opportunity would be taken away, she could only let everyone have their way with her.
With a resentful expression, she slipped into the plastic box.
A chain was attached to the rear of the prisoner cart, its other end held by Wei Dalei; if anything went wrong, he could immediately pull it back.
Of course, to reduce jolting, the inside of the cart was lovingly padded with lots of cotton thread.
Everything was ready.
Chen Mu, feeling heavy‑hearted, pushed the prisoner cart he had made himself, slowly moving Du Jia Jia outward.
Du Jia Jia was naturally especially excited.
Even the cat outside became excited and cried out.
The glass partition had been removed, the original passage widened, but for the kitten it was still too narrow—not even a paw could fit through.
After pushing the cart completely outside, Chen Mu quickly retreated back inside.
Then everyone stared outside nervously, not daring to breathe loudly, but due to the angle many couldn't see anything; only Chen Mu and Wei Dalei could clearly see the cart in its entirety and the cat's reaction.
Little Yellow was obviously very excited at Du Jia Jia's appearance, hopping in place, then lowering its body again, its round eyes blinking twice, after which it simply stared at the prisoner cart.
Given its intelligence, it obviously couldn't understand the cart's meaning; it was merely puzzled as to why Du Jia Jia looked like that.
Chen Mu's biggest worry was that it might suddenly extend a paw and scratch.
Fortunately, the kitten's mood was very stable; it merely regarded Du Jia Jia with curious eyes.
"Now it seems, thanks to the psychic sense, Little Yellow even knows how not to harm Du Jia Jia." Tang Jing walked up behind Chen Mu, followed the narrow passage, and saw the outside situation.
"Mm." Chen Mu nodded, but his gaze remained fixed on the outside.
"Can we proceed to the next step?"
"Yes."
Chen Mu made a gesture, signaling Wei Dalei to slowly pull the cart back.
The cat watched as Du Jia Jia slowly retreated back inside the door, stood up, albeit somewhat reluctantly, but still made no aggressive move.
Chen Mu opened the prisoner cart.
Du Jia Jia emerged with a flushed face, excitedly saying, "Look, Little Yellow won't hurt me."
"Still, be careful."
Chen Mu spoke, extending his right palm onto the cart, whereupon it instantly melted into a heap of soft plastic on the ground.
Then he told Du Jia Jia, "Don't move."
The next moment.
The plastic heap slowly began to move, turning into a flowing liquid on the ground that streamed to Du Jia Jia's feet, then crept slowly up from her soles.
"Huh?"
Du Jia Jia jumped in fright, but immediately recalling Chen Mu's words, she hastily kept her body still.
Like a fluid, the plastic crept up her calves, gradually covering Du Jia Jia's two long, slender thighs.
"How does it feel?" He Ying asked curiously from the side.
"It tickles." Du Jia Jia giggled.
The plastic continued upward, albeit more slowly; in about two minutes it had covered Du Jia Jia entirely, leaving only her face exposed.
At this point Du Jia Jia was like a sculpture, completely encased.
"Ahhh, I can't walk like this either."
Although it felt rather novel, the sensation of being completely bound was very unpleasant.
Don't rush, it's not over yet.
Chen Mu spoke, continuing to apply himself earnestly.
Soon, various joints on Du Jia Jia's body showed varying degrees of looseness, and she gradually became able to move.
Finally.
Du Jia Jia resembled a female warrior, wearing a set of transparent-colored plastic armor.
This armor is not fully enclosed; the face has a mesh-like protective shield, somewhat like a hockey player's helmet.
Her hands and feet were also exposed.
Du Jia Jia looked left and right at herself, then let her hands hang naturally, walked back and forth two steps with a solemn expression, imagining herself as a mighty female general.
Although I don't know how effective this armor will ultimately be, just from its appearance it is already enough to attract attention.
Chen Mu had previously experimented with this method on himself.
Because every inch of his skin can serve as a point to activate his ability, putting armor on himself greatly increases efficiency; however, he originally used metal, which is nearly 20 times more difficult than the current plastic that Lu Shanshan has lightened.
This Iron Man-like effect has always been something Chen Mu is relatively interested in.
This time, he also happened to test it on Du Jia Jia.
So far, it seems not bad.
"I, the subordinate, request to go into battle immediately!"
Du Jia Jia was immersed in her own mighty aura, unable to extricate herself; she clasped her fists, and her speech betrayed a decisive, lethal resolve.
"Approved!"
Chen Mu casually made a plastic small knife, stuffed it into Du Jia Jia's hand, pointed at the cat outside and said: "Go behead that cat from horseback, no mistakes allowed!"
Du Jia Jia looked at the plastic small knife in her hand, only slightly bigger than a finger, and said: "Ah... this..."
