Chapter 80: Your Temper Is Getting Bigger and Bigger

~8 min read 1,445 words

Gu Tingyan was bare-chested, his back covered in a woman's scratch marks.

He leaned against the bed nonchalantly, lit a cigarette, held it between his fingertips to smoke, and exhaled a thin layer of smoke.

The other person on the bed had fair, tender skin without a single patch of unblemished flesh, all covered in hickeys left by the man in retaliation.

Gu Tingyan finished the cigarette and stubbed the butt out in the ashtray.

He lay back on the bed, half-wrapped his arms around Qin Shu's waist, and pulled her tightly into his embrace.

The woman in his arms had tears hanging on her eyelashes, which looked exceptionally pitiful on her beautiful little face.

Gu Tingyan reached out to wipe away that tear, hugged her, lowered his head, and kissed her hairline: "What are you crying for?"

Qin Shu's eyelashes trembled, but she did not open her eyes.

Sleeping until the middle of the night, Gu Tingyan woke up, saw the person who had moved to the corner of the bed, got up, and dragged her back.

"Can't even sleep properly?" Gu Tingyan imprisoned her in his arms.

Qin Shu couldn't pretend to be asleep anymore; she opened her eyes and glared at him angrily.

Gu Tingyan felt ripples in his heart from her glare and became aroused again; Qin Shu felt the change in his body and her whole body stiffened.

Gu Tingyan's eyes were obscure and unfathomable; the man lowered his head to take her lips, pried open her teeth, and curled his tongue around hers.

The woman's fragile neck lay submissively under the man's palm, her fair, smooth skin glowing white.

He tasted her briefly and only let her go after kissing Qin Shu until she had no strength left; Gu Tingyan hugged her from behind: "I won't touch you anymore, sleep."

Gu Tingyan slept very soundly this time; it was the most restful sleep he had had in half a month.

The next day.

When Gu Tingyan woke up, he subconsciously reached out to grab Qin Shu, but his hand felt around several times without finding anyone.

The man opened his eyes and looked to the side; it was already empty, and Qin Shu had already gotten up.

Gu Tingyan put on his clothes, lifted the quilt, and got out of bed; he walked out of Qin Shu's bedroom and happened to see Qin Shu standing in front of the water dispenser, holding contraceptive pills in her hand.

Gu Tingyan walked over, grabbed her hand in one motion, his voice low: "Don't take them."

Qin Shu turned her head and looked at him with indifferent eyes: "If I don't take them, wait to get pregnant?"

Gu Tingyan looked at her with his pitch-black eyes: "If you get pregnant, then give birth to it."

Upon hearing this, Qin Shu sneered: "Give birth to it for what?"

She lowered her eyes, her gaze strained: "Do you want him to be like Chenchen, causing our mother and son to be separated?"

Qin Shu looked up at Gu Tingyan: "Or give birth to it and recognize Chu Sheng as the mother?"

Gu Tingyan pursed his lips: "Huahua, I promise you, this child will not be like Chenchen."

His voice also became strained: "There was no other way back then."

Under those circumstances, Gu Tingyan was sitting in a wheelchair, without even the ability to protect himself, and Qin Shu's life was in danger; he had to choose between the child or her.

Gu Tingyan could only choose her.

Thinking of that scene of blood spraying and the separation of flesh and blood back then, Qin Shu felt a sharp pain in her heart.

Qin Shu said in a low voice: "I never blamed you."

Gu Tingyan's pain was no less than hers; the events of that year were completely beyond anyone's control.

Qin Shu's tone was weary: "Gu Tingyan, we are going to get a divorce."

"If there really is a child, it would also be a harm to him."

Qin Shu grew up in a single-parent family; she knew how much suffering a child without a father's protection had to endure.

Qin Shu broke free from the man's shackles, put the medicine in her mouth, and drank it down with the water cup.

After taking the medicine, Qin Shu looked at Gu Tingyan: "I hope there won't be a second time for this kind of thing."

Gu Tingyan stood there; hearing this, his expression was very faint, neither refuting nor agreeing.

He didn't want a divorce, and no one could force him.

"I'll take you to the set." Gu Tingyan took out the car keys and lowered his head to change his shoes: "Su Tuantuan is busy; she was sent away for training."

Qin Shu frowned; she had just been on the phone with Tuanzi: "When?"

Gu Tingyan raised an eyebrow: "Just now."

Qin Shu: "........."

Qin Shu got into Gu Tingyan's car and went to the set; he leaned over to unbuckle Qin Shu's seatbelt, and Qin Shu smelled the exact same body wash scent on the man as her own.

Gu Tingyan sat back in his seat: "Grandfather wants us to go back for a meal; you will go back to the Old Residence with me tomorrow."

"I'll come to pick you up after work later."

Qin Shu: "No need."

Gu Tingyan grabbed her hand, his eyes deep: "I don't want you to get too close to Ji Yanli."

"My own wife doesn't need others to pick her up."

Qin Shu raised her eyes indifferently: "Ex-wife, thank you."

"We haven't divorced yet."

"Huahua, you wouldn't want me to do anything out of line, would you?"

Gu Tingyan lowered his eyes, his handsome face filled with a faint smile, but that smile did not reach his eyes, revealing coldness.

Qin Shu looked at him angrily and slammed the car door shut with force.

The car door made a "bang" sound and vibrated violently, causing the entire car to tremble along with it.

Gu Tingyan was silent for a moment: "Your temper is getting bigger and bigger."

"Weren't you quite gentle before?"

Gu Tingyan watched that angry figure walking away faster and faster, and faintly curled his lips.

He chuckled softly, turned the steering wheel, and drove back to the company.

After Gu Tingyan finished his meeting in the afternoon, Lin Jingshu sent him a message: "Sheng is coming today, come back to the Old Residence for dinner."

Gu Tingyan: "No time today."

Lin Jingshu looked at this message, her expression cold: "I don't know what he is busy with all day."

Lin Jingshu's eyes flickered slightly, and she sent a message to Chu Sheng: "Sheng, go find Tingyan after you get off work, and you two come back to the Old Residence for dinner together."

Chu Sheng received the message, and upon seeing these words, her heart stirred; she knew that Lin Jingshu was creating an opportunity for her and Tingyan.

"Alright, Lin Yi."

Chu Sheng finished filming the last set of scenes and got off work early; she sent a message to Gu Tingyan, but no one replied.

Chu Sheng planned to go to his company to find him.

Gu Tingyan dismissed his meeting early and drove to Qin Shu's film set; he did not go in, but parked the car by the side of the road to wait for Qin Shu to come out.

As soon as Qin Shu came out, she saw that familiar Maybach by the side of the road; she walked toward him with a cold little face, while a worker wearing work clothes and a mask walked toward Qin Shu, carrying a white bucket in his hand.

Gu Tingyan had noticed Qin Shu the moment she came out; his gaze fell upon that worker, and he saw the worker walking toward Qin Shu, his eyes staring at Qin Shu's face with a sinister coldness.

Gu Tingyan's heart skipped a beat; he opened the car door and ran quickly toward Qin Shu: "Huahua, watch out for that worker!"

Seeing that he had been exposed, a flash of viciousness crossed the man's eyes; he reached into the bucket, took out an opened bottle of unknown liquid, and splashed it toward Qin Shu's cheek!

"Go to hell!"

Qin Shu heard Gu Tingyan's voice, and her legs were already moving, running to the side.

It was concentrated sulfuric acid; if it had splashed on her face, Qin Shu's face would have been completely ruined.

The man missed the first splash, and seeing Gu Tingyan coming over, he began to panic and chased after her, splashing wildly at Qin Shu's body.
