Chapter 31: So What? Finally Lost Your Virginity? (Please Follow)
Chen Yansen wore a mischievous grin as he plopped down heavily beside Meng Jie, the soft mattress sinking instantly beneath him.
Meng Jie jumped up as if stung by a cat.
“W-what are you doing?”
Her voice trembled as she stammered, pressing both hands firmly against Chen Yansen’s chest, her feet subtly shifting into position, ready to bolt at any moment.
“I just want to look at you properly—don’t be nervous.”
Chen Yansen raised his hands and gently rested them on Meng Jie’s waist, making no further move, just gazing at her with a soft smile, as he’d said.
Meng Jie stared back at him, so close she could clearly see her own reflection in his eyes.
His warm breath brushed against her nose.
“Meng Jie, are you really not going to retake the year? Just because of Chen Yansen?”
“He’s definitely handsome—you’ve got to grab him.”
“Xiao Jie, Dad doesn’t oppose dating in college, but one rule: stay far away from that kid Chen Yansen.”
Suddenly, the voices of Zhou Xue and her father flashed through Meng Jie’s mind.
But as she looked at Chen Yansen’s face—sharp brows, starlit eyes, high nose, lips curled in a faint smile—her heart held only one firm thought: I’m going to date him!
“Let me walk you back to the dorm.”
Chen Yansen tore his gaze from her and spoke softly.
The hands resting on her waist withdrew quietly with his words, leaving only a fleeting warmth.
“I don’t want to go back.”
A pang of disappointment surged in Meng Jie’s chest, and she replied instinctively.
“Oh? Then what do you want to do?”
Chen Yansen chuckled softly and shook his head.
“Bite you!”
No sooner had the words left her lips than Meng Jie lunged forward like a kitten, biting down hard on Chen Yansen’s lips.
“What the hell? I just got kissed by a kid?”
Even the usually calm and composed Chen Yansen froze. He felt deeply insulted, especially by her clumsy, biting motion that made his lips sting.
“Stop! Stop! Stop!”
Chen Yansen cupped her head and pulled back several centimeters, then exhaled deeply.
“Chen Yansen, what’s your deal?”
Meng Jie glared at him, eyes wide, voice fierce.
“Your technique’s terrible. Learn properly.”
Chen Yansen sighed helplessly.
“Learn what?”
Meng Jie’s mind went blank, her expression dumbfounded as she asked.
Before Chen Yansen could answer, she saw his face drawing closer—until her lips felt an unfamiliar touch, and only then did she understand what he meant by “learn properly.”
After who knew how long, a sharp ringtone suddenly blared.
“Shh! Don’t talk—it’s my dad.”
Feeling her phone vibrate in her pocket, Meng Jie snapped back to reality, saw the caller ID, shoved Chen Yansen away, then whispered a cautious warning.
Chen Yansen licked his lips and nodded slightly.
“Dad, are you home? I’m in the dorm—my roommates went out to eat, so it’s quiet now.”
Meng Jie pressed answer, forced to lie to her father’s questions.
“Xiao Jie, dorm life is like a small society—you need to get along with your roommates. There’s a bag of snacks in your suitcase; remember to share them.”
Meng Zhen Guo immediately grew anxious upon hearing this, urgently giving her earnest advice.
All her roommates had gone out—except her. Naturally, he worried his precious daughter was being left out.
“Got it, I’ll take care of myself—don’t worry.”
Meng Jie nodded quickly in agreement.
“And remember what I said: stay far away from that kid Chen Yansen.”
Meng Zhen Guo wasn’t reassured and repeated his warning.
“Yes yes yes, I’ll find a boyfriend according to your standards. Dad, I’ve gotta go shower now.”
Meng Jie shot Chen Yansen an embarrassed glance, then spun another lie.
After hanging up, they locked eyes and burst out laughing together.
“If you don’t head back to the dorm, you’ll have to share my blanket.”
Chen Yansen took Meng Jie’s small hand and pointed to her wristwatch—the hour hand had passed nine.
He’d never intended to keep her overnight—first, he feared scaring her; second, he knew skipping dorm curfew on the first night of college would invite endless gossip.
On the way back, Chen Yansen didn’t drive; they walked slowly.
Among the lush shrubs, occasional couples could be seen locked in passionate kisses.
Meng Jie stole a glance, lost in thought, a smile playing on her lips.
“There are even more by Pearl Lake—almost every bench has a pair.”
Chen Yansen saw through her thoughts and described it with exaggerated flair.
“College really is different from high school.”
Meng Jie sighed softly, a complex emotion flickering in her eyes.
She knew that in high school, if a relationship was discovered, the punishment was inevitable: parents called and written apologies.
“Hey! Senior Chen!”
A few girls in short skirts, under the dim streetlight, suddenly recognized the boy across from them as Senior Chen Yansen and hurried over with bright smiles.
“Wait—Meng Jie? You know Senior Chen too?”
One girl gasped in surprise upon seeing Meng Jie beside Chen Yansen.
Most shocking of all—the senior was holding Meng Jie’s hand!
Under the stares of her roommates, Meng Jie didn’t let go—she gripped tighter. She’d always been like this: straightforward, brave, and fierce.
“Hello!”
Chen Yansen smiled lightly in reply, then turned to Meng Jie and asked, “Are these your roommates?”
“Yes yes, Senior, we’re all Meng Jie’s roommates.”
“So Senior already has a girlfriend? What a shame.”
“Meng Jie, is Senior Chen walking you back to the dorm? He seems so gentle!”
The girls chattered among themselves, eyes full of curiosity, constantly glancing between Chen Yansen and Meng Jie.
To them, Meng Jie looked like a boy—short, neat haircut, loud and carefree personality; her suitcase held nothing but T-shirts and jeans, not a single skirt.
What magic did Meng Jie have to land Senior Chen Yansen?
Or did Senior Chen Yansen have a thing for this type of girl?
“I’ll leave you here—I need to head back.”
After a brief chat with them, Chen Yansen bid Meng Jie farewell and walked toward the male dormitory.
Meng Jie was about to ask why he wasn’t heading outside—but when she glanced at her roommates beside her, she instantly understood his intention.
Once Chen Yansen’s figure vanished, her roommates immediately surrounded her, pressing urgently: “Meng Jie, are you really Senior Chen’s girlfriend?”
“Sort of.”
Meng Jie paused briefly, then nodded seriously.
She’d kissed him first—he’d kissed her back. How could they not be a couple?
What does “sort of” mean?
Either you are, or you aren’t!
Her roommates exchanged glances, puzzled but too shy to press further. They walked down Xuelin Road, each now clutching a stack of club recruitment flyers.
…
…
Chen Yansen had planned to return to the hotel, but after seeing Meng Jie with her roommates, he changed his mind. He bought a pack of braised snacks and a dozen cans of beer from the campus store, then strolled lazily toward Building 8.
Door 8302 was still half-open.
As he approached, he heard Zhu Xiaopeng saying: “It’s already half past nine—Chen Yansen isn’t planning to skip curfew, is he?”
“He drives a luxury car—does he even need a girlfriend?”
Tang Zhenzhe, lying on his bed, dismissed Zhu Xiaopeng’s remark with disdain.
“Who here has ever dated?”
Meng Xibo, the biggest gossip, picked up the thread.
“Everyone knows I was the starting forward on the high school soccer team—girls surrounded me every day. Eventually, I couldn’t hold back, sigh.”
Wang Zhengqiang bragged shamelessly, feigning reluctance.
“So what? Did you finally lose your virginity?”
Chen Yansen kicked open the door, voice dripping with mockery as he teased.
