Chapter 94

"Wooden Female, you live here in our highest rooms; I live just below your courtyard, and I won't let anyone come up to disturb you." Hua Zheng proudly introduced.

Lin Manzhi tilted her head to observe.

This is a round thatched house; the Cangqiong above is over ten meters high, the windows along ten pillars occupy half the width of the wall, and now the windows are open, bright light pours in, bringing a surging heat.

She saw that the linen cloth divided the space into two rooms; inside was the sleeping area, the floor laid with thick fur rugs, then soft cushions, atop which were piled thick white-fur blankets.

Lin Manzhi went around the right side of the cushion, pulled aside a white curtain, revealing a wooden door, and then saw a five-to-six square meter washing area, with a half-person-high water bucket full of water.

She glanced; it was still quite clean, closed the door and walked out.

In the outer room by the window, a chaise-longue-like cushion was placed, its pale yellow cover smooth and glossy, facing the doorway; there were two futons and a low long table.

The entrance to the room is a ten-something square meter balcony, with an open view, able to take in this whole district at a glance.

Lin Manzhi, standing at the door, gave Hua Zheng a slight smile: "Thank you, this place is beautiful; you've worked hard on the way. I have no luggage to organize here, you can go rest a bit."

Hua Zheng stood in the courtyard, not entering the house, but eagerly gazing at Mo Lie standing at the door; the supplies here are limited, not comparable to where Mo Lie's warriors used to live in the Young Master's manor, and I don't know if the master will be satisfied.

"Not bad." Mo Lie glanced at Hua Zheng with a slight frown, "You can go down."

There is no other male beast scent here; he is very satisfied with Hua Zheng's meticulous work this time.

Hua Zheng: "Yes."

He was happy, turned and took a few steps on the neat stairs, running into the courtyard below; his figure quickly disappeared.

In the room.

Lin Manzhi lowered the white cotton cloth at the window and drew it shut, blocking a layer of outside sunlight and a layer of wind.

This room is already furnished and ready to move in with just a bag: one bedroom, one living room, plus a large balcony and a semi-open washing area; although there is no kitchen for cooking, there are no neighbors around, so at least it's an independent space.

Lin Manzhi, feeling somewhat tired, flopped onto the inner cushion.

The cool fur blanket pressed against her warm skin, making the fatigue from days of travel gradually rise.

She turned her head, watching Mo Lie move the luggage he brought in piece by piece; watching, her eyelids grew heavy.

No, I can't sleep; it's still afternoon, later I want to go out for a stroll, then check on Su Li's side, and by the way sell the lettuce first.

Lin Manzhi yawned, struggling to open her heavy eyelids.

A tall, slender figure walked in.

He obviously had just been out in the scorching sun; even before he approached, a wave of heat hit the face.

Mo Lie bent over, lowering his ice-blue eyes, gazing at the female half-closed, not fully conscious black eyes sunk in the cushion, he raised his hand to cover Lin Manzhi's eyes.

The little female's face is small; his hand blocks most of it, revealing the crimson lips slightly parted, standing out against his pale hand and her jade-white skin, beautiful as a spring peach blossom.

She seemed not yet to have recovered from suddenly falling into darkness; her long lashes fluttered against his palm, sending a tingling itch.

His body tensed involuntarily; his voice, softened, still couldn't hide a slight hoarseness: "... Sleep, I'll just go buy wooden crates this afternoon."

Lin Manzhi heard Mo Lie's voice, being persuaded, she immediately stopped insisting.

Yeah, the other party solved the lettuce crate issue; now we don't have to rush like last time.

They had used up the three Spiritual Repair Agents bought last time, but Mo Lie's last dose was injected only ten days ago; these next couple days should be fine.

Thinking, Lin Manzhi closed her eyes, gradually losing consciousness and fell asleep.

The next day, after Lin Manzhi finished the breakfast Hua Zheng brought, taking advantage of the morning before the sun rose and it wasn't too hot, she took Mo Lie and Hua Zheng toward the Wushen Temple.

She still wore her previous disguise, tightly wrapped, only her eyes showing outward; Mo Lie followed beside her.

On the other side, Hua Zheng, with one hand supporting the huge wooden crate on his shoulder, walked easily.

Outside the Wushen Temple stood several tall, burly beastfolk; they didn't look like the temple's guards.

Could they be gathered here to rob?

She again thought it impossible; in the beastfolk world, the Wushen Temple controls the medicines male beasts need; to offend the temple, are the male beasts of Kuangsha City seeking death?

Without medicine, and without females, if their Spirit Core goes wrong, they will fully beastify, becoming mindless mad beasts that die raving.

Lin Manzhi glanced twice at the entrance; the flower-clad Hua Zheng in a dark gray cloak stepped forward warily, speaking in a tiny voice: "They are all people from several factions of Kuangsha City; recently the Wushen Temple has been spreading word of a new suppressive agent!"

Hearing that, Mo Lie showed interest, turning his head slightly toward Hua Zheng.

Hua Zheng: "I heard that Xiang Zhuang, the biggest power in Xicheng Qu, when he first began to beastify, was saved by a tube of spirit suppressive agent!"

He continued while walking: "This drew other factions, offering heavy gold, all wanting this new medicine; later the Wushen Temple sold a few more tubes, saving several big shots, but I don't know why they later stopped selling it externally."

The Wushen Temple does not sell the new spirit suppressive agent externally; they want the medicine but dare not raid the temple, fearing that after offending it they could never buy it again, so they can only stand guard here all day.

What can be done! They inquired; in other lord cities' Wushen Temples there is no such new agent, only here!

Mo Lie and Lin Manzhi exchanged a silent glance.

Lettuce.

Mo Lie slightly raised his eyebrows, as if saying this new agent is related to lettuce.

Lin Manzhi was somewhat surprised; she hadn't expected that the fastest-growing vegetable she cultivated would, when made into this new agent, still have such a remarkable effect.

She reached up and pulled the black cotton gauze on her head, letting a shadow fall over her brows and eyes, blocking the gaze from outside.

Those few small gangs loitering outside the temple, idle, stared at the crowds coming and going; seeing a petite figure, they seized the chance to look twice more.

Oh wow~ quick look, quick look, it's a female!

They're quite pleased with this duty; they can see lots of females~

Females passing by would turn their heads, glaring fiercely back at the gang of ruffian male beasts staring at them; afterward, the male beasts behind them would use their bodies to encircle them.

Some females enjoy the male beasts' gazes, raising their chins high, walking toward the Wushen Temple under the escort of the males behind them.

As they walked, a few gazes stuck to her; Mo Lie didn't need to speak, Hua Zheng immediately flicked a glare sideways: "What are you looking at? Want to fight?"
