Chapter 141: Language
Falshad wore a look of pride.
"I told you, Mr. Luo De, both of them are exceptionally gifted children."
Luo De smiled but said nothing.
That spell actually inflicted little damage on the monster.
Prula took too long to charge, leaving all the frontline pressure to his sister Saixier.
And after just this one round, both had consumed massive amounts of spirit and mana.
Especially Saixier—despite her endurance and agility boosts, she was already gasping for breath.
Defeat was merely a matter of time.
Then again, they're only fifth-rankers.
High-rank naturally suppresses low-rank spirit, which is why some full-strength low-rankers dare not attack severely wounded high-rankers.
This natural suppression can reduce their actual power to as low as 80%—or even less.
Over here.
During combat, Luo De had ordered Tally to remain hidden.
He was bored idle on his own.
He suddenly remembered the translation skill in 【Shaking Soul Blade】.
"I wonder if I can translate the monster's language."
Saying this, he gripped the silver sword at his waist.
Hum—
The silver sword trembled, and a ringing echoed in his ears.
A brief moment of calm.
Luo De heard the first word spoken by the seventh-rank monster ahead:
"Help."
He shrugged.
Screaming for help won't work.
Luo De wasn't a bleeding-heart saint; his allegiance overwhelmingly lay with this continent, and no matter how loudly these alien species screamed, he wouldn't care.
He kept listening.
"Shit," "It hurts," "I'm hungry."
Most of it was meaningless babble.
Then again.
They're in combat—who has time to speak long, coherent sentences?
Saixier made a mistake up front, misjudging the monster's attack, and was about to be caught by its overhead tentacles.
【Sacrificial Sword】 slashed swiftly, releasing a cutting wave of air accompanied by a piercing shriek.
He didn't use much force.
Thus, the blade wave merely pushed the tentacles away, sparing Saixier from the attack.
"You're distracted, Saixier. Don't fixate only on where the enemy strikes—broaden your field of vision."
Luo De advised.
"Sorry!"
Saixier gritted her teeth and dove back into battle.
Falshad said bitterly:
"I can't teach her warrior combat styles—it's my fault."
"From your rear-line perspective, it's also a good way—she'll clearly know what she needs to do."
In Luo De's view,
Saixier's fighting style centered on harassment and mobility—this was a cooperative tactic.
The output was always left to the mage side.
But the problem was, Prula's casting speed was too slow.
There it was again.
He began charging another large spell.
The entire twenty-second gap was dumped onto Falshad and Saixier.
"The terrain's too narrow—you shouldn't rely so heavily on long incantations."
Prula paused, then grinned confidently.
"Don't worry, Mr. Luo De—this one will finish it!"
His mana grew denser; the next large spell was about to form.
But the monster suddenly turned, abandoning its struggle with Saixier.
It charged straight at Prula.
"It ignored my taunt!"
Ping!
The scythe-claw slashed down hard.
It cleanly shattered the first spell shield, then stopped at the second.
Immediately, magic light flared along the scythe-claw.
Ultra-close-range Repulsion Technique.
The Repulsion Technique is renowned for its devastating impact—perfect for shattering spell shields at point-blank range.
As expected, the second shield exploded into fragments.
Saixier rushed back to defend, but the monster had deliberately exposed its back.
The monster seized the opening created by her panic.
Another scythe-claw, spinning with force, slammed into her and sent her flying straight into the wall.
"Saixier!"
Prula panicked, his focus shattered.
The backlash from failed casting turned his face pale and forced out a mouthful of blood.
The dust settled.
Saixier's spell shields were completely shattered; a massive gash now opened across her abdomen.
Clearly, she could no longer fight.
The monster moved to deliver the final blow, lowering its massive fleshy skirt to crush her.
Luckily, Tally reached out from the shadows and yanked the tiefling girl away in time.
She appeared beside Luo De.
"Sorry."
Saixier gulped down a magic potion, her face filled with frustration.
"Even within your current system, as a frontline, you need real threat—not just distraction."
Luo De stepped forward.
Spirit particles surged rapidly into the blade.
He slashed sideways, casually.
As he swung, 【Giant Slash】 formed.
The distant monster lunged to kill Prula.
The extended spirit blade cleanly severed its scythe-claw.
In the confined space, the massive spirit blade carved a deep gouge through ceiling and walls alike.
Boom—
Dirt and rock rained down.
The monster let out another piercing scream.
Its words were laced with vile curses; translated, they sounded like "your mother's ass."
Luo De saw human-like terror in the monster's eye, now detached from its face.
Then it turned and fled without looking back.
"It's running—both of you are responsible for bringing it back."
Luo De sheathed the golden sword, speaking with casual indifference.
Saixier, still sitting on the ground, had witnessed this slash up close—she was still stunned.
She stared at Luo De, unable to look away.
She'd heard this man was strong—but never imagined he was this strong?!
Luo De crouched down.
He tore open her slashed leather armor, revealing her dark-skinned abdomen.
A huge wound gaped open, exposing her internal organs.
She flinched, panicked and helpless.
After all, she was still a girl—her waist was slender, with clear traces of long-term training; her abdominal muscles and waistline were plainly visible.
Luo De reached out and pressed his hand against her wound.
"Mmm!"
Lin Saixier's eyes darted around.
"Domain?"
Falshad walked over, surprised.
"Only a small portion, related to regeneration—enough to ease her injuries."
The 【Green Grass Domain】's regeneration can aid others.
But the cost far exceeds the usual.
Quickly.
Lin Saixier's wounds had healed by more than half, enough for her to move.
"Alright, let's go after them."
Luo De urged.
But Falshad hesitated.
"Let's get these two out first."
He saw the two tieflings were in poor condition and had already considered retreating.
Luo De shook his head.
"No, Falshad. I know you want to protect them, and I know how vital full strength is against enemies—but you must understand, there are times when you simply must do this."
He didn't think Falshad's approach was wrong; he was simply speaking from a warrior's perspective.
Falshad glanced at the reluctant Prula.
Then at Lin Saixier, who kept staring blankly at Luo De.
He smiled bitterly.
"If Mr. Luo De is covering for us, then of course it's fine."
The group quickly gathered their things.
They headed toward the direction the monster had fled—the same way it had come.
Actually, there were other reasons to pursue.
While listening to the monster's translation, Luo De clearly heard it call this place "Sanctuary."
That made him curious.
