Chapter 311: Oona
Until evening.
Tally rose from the shadows, intending to eat dinner and go back to sleep.
Succubi are naturally lazy creatures; eating until full, then sleeping until hungry again is their usual way of life.
Tally, with no survival pressure, was even more so.
Although her master had not reproduced the quality of food from that night when he ascended to the seventh tier, she grew fonder of him.
The love in the food wasn't quite enough, yet its sweet-tart flavor often lingered near her heart.
Then she saw the slightly bizarre scene before her.
She was already a little upset, and now her master wouldn't even give her a snack!!
"Why didn't you call me for dinner!!"
Tally crouched to the side, complaining.
"I didn't not call you—it was an emergency. If I stopped, Sharon's magic wouldn't be enough, and Dimea would die. That was an accident."
"An accident? I don't believe it. That dirty dog must have seduced you!"
To be honest.
I don't believe it either.
Luo De secretly felt something was off.
"Sharon, I'll let the 【Sleep Sigil】 in the array slide, but weren't your movements too smooth from the start? And you weren't wearing anything inside."
It felt like you were always ready for battle.
"Hmm? I anticipated this scenario—I just prepared for the worst. Did you think I called you here for what? You're just a giant spiritual reserve device. Focus! Magic is running low!"
Sharon, drenched in sweat, muttered while controlling the aether.
"."
It was a very long process.
Dimea the witch needed gradual, steady changes to convert her spiritual energy into magic.
From noon that day until the next morning.
Exhausted, Sharon activated the spiritual shielding array and raised it to maximum capacity.
Even so, the witch still showed signs of pain.
"Will it work? She still seems uncomfortable."
Luo De stood up as if nothing had happened, stepping on the ruined array.
"Close enough. This level is fine. I'm nearly falling apart—if Dimea doesn't make it, I'm done for."
Sharon collapsed onto the floor, splashing water, her lips terrifyingly pale.
She had simply exhausted her physical strength and mental energy.
Continuous physical assault and magical drain, pleasure and erosion—contradictory sensations kept battering her.
She couldn't take it anymore.
For now, she didn't want to touch that dog-man again.
"Are you alright? Not drained of magic? Should we continue?"
"Get lost!"
Luo De smiled, not teasing her further.
He summoned Slimy Black to deliver a healing fluid.
Then he placed her on the sofa pushed to the edge of the living room.
Looking at the listless puppy.
Luo De felt a pang of softness.
He gently stroked her head and rubbed her soft canine ears.
He whispered comfort.
"Sharon, you worked hard today."
"Hmph."
Sharon's heart warmed.
She leaned into his arms, nuzzling her head against him, acting just like a puppy begging for affection.
She had wanted to kiss him again, but he pushed her away.
"What?"
Sharon complained loudly.
Then she forcefully pulled the dirty man back, pressing herself against his solid chest again.
Damn, why does his scent smell so good?
Sharon slowly closed her eyes; her fatigue seemed to ease, her spirit growing calmer.
A faint smile appeared on her face.
If only
this moment could last forever.
"Um, if you don't mind, I'll feed Tally here—she's about to starve."
An untimely voice spoke beside him.
The sweet smile on Sharon's face vanished instantly.
She opened her eyes and saw the succubus grinning beside her.
Fuck!
She kicked the man off her with a swift motion.
"Get out! Get out now!"
Luo De eventually resolved the food issue with Tally in the downstairs washroom.
He felt a bit guilty toward Dimea.
Over the past few days, he'd fired off too many times in this villa.
So once Sharon and Dimea's conditions stabilized, Luo De left.
Today happened to be the day Shiying Town opened its market.
He planned to buy supplies and stockpile them at Zhaogu Mountain first, just in case.
After noon, the market's bustle began to decline.
It was no longer packed and noisy with people.
Luo De even spotted a familiar figure at a roadside fried pancake stall.
Oona, the rabbit-folk nanny mage of the Magic Control League.
She still wore her wide white mage robe, its silver-trimmed edges inscribed with mysterious magical runes.
"Oona?"
The rabbit girl turned, revealing half her wheat-colored face smeared with pancake sauce.
Her cheeks puffed out, moving up and down—adorably so.
"Mr. Luo De!"
"What a surprise! Didn't expect to meet you here."
Luo De smiled.
Oona's current charge was deep in the Abyss, fighting for blood infused with divine sparks—and had not returned. She was currently on paid leave.
It was no wonder she came here to wander.
"I arrived this morning and went to the forest looking for you, but the Tree Spirit said you weren't home."
"Ah, right, just a small matter."
"I can smell the strong scent of girls on you… Luo De, you're not sneaking around behind Lady Hera, are you?"
"What do you mean 'behind Lady Hera'? I don't have any special relationship with Lady Hera."
Looking at the rabbit girl's knowing expression, Luo De was speechless.
Come to think of it, he hadn't seen the scorpion-woman Hera in a long time.
Most of the things Luo De received from the Bone Dragon Meghan were useless to him.
He'd considered selling them to the Magic Control League, but biological materials from cosmic beings require source reporting—extremely troublesome.
So Luo De simply gave all fire- and poison-related items to the scorpion-woman Hera.
After obtaining that high-tier eye demon meat, the strongest in the forest entered seclusion.
He hadn't seen her since.
Maybe next time they meet, she'll advance further?
That would be a tremendous blessing.
Luo De still has two favors owed to him by the scorpion-woman Hera—the stronger she becomes, the better.
Even without that, they're friends.
The rabbit girl bit off more than half the pancake in one gulp.
"I'm here for the Beast Transformation Disease."
"Oh, the Magic Control League accepted my report?"
Large-scale Beast Transformation Disease counts as a magical disaster.
With Luo De and the forest's current strength, holding the line would be barely possible with great effort, but eradicating the sixteen thousand people of the Keshi Plains was pure fantasy.
Naturally, we need someone tall to step up.
But Oona shook her head.
"No, Aiselong's stance is ambiguous—neither rejecting nor accepting. The Magic Control League won't intervene without authorization from the local authority, and I feel Aiselong can't afford the payment."
"Hmm"
